  1. Hi @Tigaroo, the tiles are from hafary at balestier.
  2. @hokokhua pls sent. And thank you for your kind comments.
  3. Just a quick update. Looks like my dining table is done. But, it looks really short. I figure it must be the angle of the shot as it is supposed to be a 180cm table. http://
  4. The black air on is really cool. What brand is it?
  5. Hi @yourliverisBLACK3310, thank you. I got the table from etch&bolt. I'll pm you the cost.
  6. I have also done most of my shopping for the house. For the kitchen, as I have mentioned earlier, it is not my top priority. Nevertheless, I didn't want to just get any old thing as things like built in ovens, hobs and sinks, if they were to breakdown in the future, it would be a real hassle to change. But I don't really know much about these appliances, so I just listened to a friend of mine and went to Teka to get what I needed in the end. This is my Teka steamer oven. I wanted to just get a basic oven, but my friends convinced me to get a steamer oven as they say it is healthier in the long run. Also, I wouldn't need to get a separate steamer. http:// Got the Teka hob. I was actually looking at a hob which coulod put four pots. But I decided that was overkill and got one which can put 3 pots instead. Why induction? Not due to design, but because I don't do any real cooking, maybe heat up water, soups, fry myself a steak , etc. Mainly western meals. Also I feel that it is safer. If I accidentally put my hand on the part where the pots should go, I will not get burnt. http:// Microwave also from Teka. Haha all my major kitchen appliances are from Teka lah. http://
  7. Sorry everyone. Have been quiet coz my flu really knocked me out. Anyway, on to the reno... Not as much done over the past week. But I don't mind. I am not in a hurry and I would rather my ID does a good but slow job then a quick job which would have problems later on. Main thing done is to build up the enclosure for my wall hung WCs. So evrything except the flush buttons and my toilet bowl will be hidden. Master bedroom bathroom. http:// Common bathroom. http://
  8. Nice taobao purchases. I dare not buy from taobao coz my mandarin is very, very bad.
  9. Thanks for your kind words @huggermonster. Not sure how much the platform will cost me yet. My ID is re-costing the quotation as it was a add-on after he firts quoted me. Maybe you can still nego with your wife to have only one wall in a very dark colour and the rest of the walls and ceiling white. That way, the whole house won't be too dark and you will have the best of both worlds, I'll pm you my ID's contact (with the caveat that while he has not yet completed the reno for me, so far, he has met all my expectations.)
  10. Thanks @brrrando. Yes, I believe that the more rings mean the older the tree. And I agree, while it does look more complicated, it does have more character.
  11. Thank you @Changbp @OceanEleven Erm, I don't think you want to see that, you'll have nightmares for the rest of your life. But I am thinking of doing a short video "tour" of my place once the reno is completed. I'll see if I have the skill to pull that off.
  12. Also, for showers, it depends on what type of shower you want - if it is just a simple hand held shower, it will be a lot less complicated than if you want a rain shower. For the latter, you would have to ensure enough water pressure. Also for some types of rainshower you may not be able to use an instant heater but may need a storage tank heater.
  13. Thanks @ricepapergirl. Haha, I hope it turns out like what I envisioned.
  14. They started with the plumbing for my toilet and my iboxes for my rainshower. Went to Toto for my toilets. I know that there are cheaper toilets which are just as effective as toto. But there was something that toto toilets also have that I wanted - rimless toilets. I don't like cleaning toilets, I liked cleaning under the rims of toilets even less. So this was what I got there. Rimless and with this thing called tornado flush. http:// The iboxes are for my hansgrohe rainshower. These help to control the different shower modes. So for my rainshower, it will have the airshower as well as this waterfall-like shower. The bottom picture is what it looks like. Hansgrohe calls it flood spray. http:// http://
  15. Thank @Luxexplorer. I agree with you. Just felt that the walnut would balance off the darker walls. But my ID assured me that the ebony will go because most of the dining walls are lighter in colour. So I'm trusting in his judgement and getting the ebony. (After all, that's why I got an ID in the first place, to provide me with good and sound design ideas and concepts.)
  16. Good luck on this journey. Like you, I chose and ID coz I didn't have the time to manage everything myself. So far my ID has done a great job.
  17. It wasn't just for the water pressure @koxxic, although it was a major consideration. I also don't like it when I'm showering and someone uses the tap elsewhere and my hot water becomes cold.
  18. There was some progress yesterday. Plumbing work. My water heater storage tanks are in. As mentioned earlier, I got a 68 litre tank for my mbr bathroom. This was to ensure that my rainshower would have the necessary 3 bar of pressure. For my common bathroom and my kitchen I got smaller tanks. Master bedroom tank http:// My common and kitchen tanks. http:// http://
  19. Thank you @glamchic Hopefully concept will be reality.
  20. @El LoCoApparently for my dream shower to work, I need more than 3 bar of pressure. As it is I just have enough for a normal rainshower, but not for something so large.
