  1. hi! its the Bosch Logixx 8 you are referring to right ? - I have had mine for about 2 months now... and its a dream .. being able to choose the settings and preference for either cold or hot wash. more importantly.. my utility bills on water consumption is reasonable (about $30) , considering that I wash about 4-5 times a week. definitely highly recommended.
  2. grilling wise - i have always enjoyed grilling either chicken wings(marinated with light soy sauce and chinese wine and ginger strips, prawns (garlic) or fish (either with onions and salt, or chilli) all of which can be baked too). and when i am feeling really lazy .. lagsagne. hmm... the slow cooker is another option ... pop in your food in the morning, and when you get home (like i do as i work) it's cooked and hot .
  3. yep, quite right .. definitely the accomodation and guides make a difference if not huge. was in Hokkaido a few years back for a summer holiday ... the lavendar fields were fantastic and so were the food and fruits! - loved the honey melons, all the so very fresh seafood and the milk and of course cheesecake!! but do carry more of the Yen with you... that year i went, only cash and the JCB Japanese credit card was accepted there.... we ended up borrowing from our tour guide as we assumed like all major cities, credit cards were accepted. on walking in snow... do avoid wearing running shoes (trainers) - your feet will get soak through and you might slip on the wet snowy path . I always wear (waterproof/ leather) boots in winter.. got a pair of timberlands. another way to keep warm in winter without looking too bulky - get thermal wear. Do get an outer jacket with hood if you can ... which will come in handy in keeping your head and ears from the winter chill.
  4. hey .... another way to cook under 30 mins to use bake or grill your food. using aluminium foil on the crockery etc also minimises washing up time. plus its a healthier option too.
  5. guess it depends on which front load washer you go for... i got a Bosch logixx 8.. and there's the option of choosing a cold wash.
  6. I wish! - at least that will leave me with spare change to celebrate with the fantastic sales that is ongoing now. we were unsuccessful in balloting for any flats there. nope.. we got resale.. point block .. opposite the mosque if you are familiar with the area.

  9. yep ... actually we were quite lost when it came to choosing brand of cooker hob and hood .. we just went with what we liked - liked the look of the cast iron hob. Have you chosen your cooker hob and hood?
  10. yep .. we went with ID too ... and yeah... had to squeeze out for the discounts too. nearly bought cooker hob and hood from *** Gallery too - glad we did not, managed to get 10% off the Rinnai set we saw at Sim Siang Choon.

how irresponsible of them not to inform you that there may be a chance that your sofa would not get/fit into the lift! hope you will be able to get the compensation you deserve.

  13. Hi Binzz, Is it a contemporary marble top table that you are looking for ? if so, THINK - that's the furniture shop's name - sells these. The round marble table I saw had stainless steel legs, really beautiful and stylish. THINK is located at Jalan Ampas, off Balestier Road. hope this helps!
  14. Hi, just came across this forum. anyway, the key to F&E is planning, and plan as early as you can to get the best deals. I did F&E in Switzerland in 2005, crossing over by train from Italy. I started off with a good travel guide book(s). Accomodation wise, other than the travel guides, I relied largely on recommendation from fellow virtual travellers. Train and bus travel in Switzerland is relatively easy and very reliable... check out their website http://www.sbb.ch/en/
