TC's painter came up to fix the cracks caused by the external brick facade this afternoon. They are able to fix it without doing the gondolier thingy. The painter told me to monitor when and after it rained. I'm supposed to pray for rain so that I can see the aftermath. Hope it's fine. Stuff done up in the past few days... - WCs, common toilet sink & shower set, MBR's shower panel are done. Storage heater is also up. Quite giantic, i think. - Polishing done on Monday. Was there that night and was stunned to see the difference. - Wooden boards for the 2 platforms up yesterday. I saw this gap that was in between the top of the platform and below the AC trunking... was thinking hard to clean that area and ID sugg we wait till the parquet is up before he see if something can be stuffed below that space. Wooden doors will be up this Sat, and monday, parquet to be done. Hope's the worksmanship is fine because this part is being 'outsourced'.

No prob, gal... felt a bit guilty now coz like tell you hw to do bad things.

Hi Jessie, Give the 2 of you all a break of abt 2 wks... then take it up with them again. Then perhaps submit the report from BCA chap with a letter listing why and ask hdb to clarify it's stand in black and white (trust me, drafting a letter stating steps and stuff is not easy). CC to MP to cut down the red tape. Alternatively, try this webbie where ppl write in so that they dun get ding-dong among divisions. To us laymen, if they are not the one to answer, they are responsible to get the relevant person to reply. Its the PS21 website. Scan the report in and add it as an attachment. http://app.ps21.gov.sg/newps21/default.asp?id=65

Oh. I forgot to update. Town council got back. Said i'm not the only one to have this issue. My future neighbours, up down left right also got this. That's why they are repainting the external facade. TC said that those blks using bricks will have this issue when they age. When repainting the facade, they will apply sealer and then paint over it. So now waiting (a bit impatient already) for the property officer in charge of my blk to call me. I need to kiv my platforms and repainting (water mark still there as of last nite) because they have to do something at their side first before we do the inside. ID was accomodating. I was like really apologetic abt it coz it's not their problem and they can say heck care and go abt their own reno schedule. But they didnt. I'm lucky they are the responsible kind.

Wait for yr wifey to clear her exams then see if she can mediate? But dun put her smack in between coz the feeling is not gd.

As Bun Bun mentioned, try to get it in black and white. It's sad to think that some divisions really wait till the problem is unmanagable and the whole thing comes in before they say they can rectify. It's not abt the $ nor the lack of COV you paid. Obviously you guys have factored in the mthly maintainence costs, etc before you all commit to the unit. It's whether what's the root cause, who will be responsible if it really come in, and not whether you have the $ to repair it. Use the above sentence to the effect when you write in to them, plus some other notes from other forummers. Write to the MND himself, cc to your own MP. Are you in a hurry to get yr reno done up? I'm also bugging my Town council now as there's external water leaks into my unit - which we discovered during last week's painting. I told them they have to rectify this otherwise my reno works will be disrupted, reno permit expiring, and essentionally, they have to give me a rental home because i will be homeless after reno. Okay, i exaggerrated a bit, but then, that's my impression of HDB and their Town Councils.

Kitchen Glass Sliding Door -> Anyone Do Kerb On Floor?
skywolf replied to lxiul's topic in Carpentry Works
Mine does not have a kerb. The prev owner (mine's a resale unit) does not have one nor a kitchen door so i guessed we sort of inherit the idea. We only did the glass sliding door and retiled the kitchen floor. There's this negligible small gap between the 2 heights, abt 2cm? I guessed we cant wash the kitchen floor like the olden days, i.e.: pour water across kitchen. Which i whd nv do nor thought to do. -
Erm, would a tall fellow hit the lower curve?

Love your tub! Envy or burn pockets deep deep?

We discovered something potentially that may disrupt the reno schedule. Water marks/splashes across newly painted walls and along sides of windows (below windows, a line down). It's in my purple rm, along the aircon trunking in mbr, and along the trunking in the balcony. Luckily i didnt have anything built in at the recess area below the windows because if hdb insist, all those have to be torn out. It's unnerving to see this because we cant figure how how it could have happened. The AC had not even been tested/switched on because the AC ppl didnt do up the plug properly. And if it's not the AC condensation, where whd the water come from? These few days it was raining in Tampines. When it was painted last week, it was still sunny so it cant be seen. :~ Steven will pop by either tomorrow/monday to take a look. Hoping it's nothing serious though at the back of my mind, i dun think its as simple as just repainting.

Oh dear, my condolences to you.

Would you like to reconsider? Wood and water do not go hand in hand... And unless it's a dry toilet, otherwise there will be moisture around the cubicle. Concrete support can be covered with wooden doors, though it sounds contridicting (since wood is still there). But at least not tt much wood.

I have to say, i'm relieved... Because they didnt abuse the 'privilege'.
