  1. Letting go of my Deka Baby G for $75 each, some change in plans and decide not to put ceiling fans in the bed rooms. Self collect from Hougang, please PM me to arrange, thanks. Brand new in box, black, warranty unfilled.
  2. I do not think kdk fans will provide enough light. I think there other good brands you can consider if light is important, fanco f2 being one of them. Have a fren that had it installed, very bright. Too costly for me though, about $500 a piece. http://www.fortytwo.sg/fanco-ceiling-fan-f2-with-led-light-56.html
  3. The local queen is indeed 1.9m . seems like china also using 2000 x 1500mm. Anyone got their beds from taobao? http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=21591795711&spm=a1z0k.7385961.1997985097.d4918997.XBp5K6&_u=n1sg3n2a688a
  4. I need an installer for my craftstone wall as well, ordering the bricks from taobao. Was quoted $900 for a 3 x 2.5 meters wall, labour + cement from my contractor, feels its quite costly.
  5. Hmm... I will go back to measure my current mattress then... Lemoncandy, you house looks gorgeous , nice bed as well, guess its OK to be slightly oversize since its a platform bed.
  6. Is that the case? Was under the impression that they fits singapore queen size bed of ard 200 x 150? The following information from ikea sg website for the Hemnes bed. Product dimensionsLength: 211 cmFootboard height: 68 cm Headboard height: 122 cm Width: 167 cm Mattress length: 200 cm Mattress width: 150 cm
  7. That was the thought from the rational side of me, though i prefer the taobao design.

  9. Shortlisted my bed, came down to 2 options, Ikea or Taobao. Wonder if worth the while to ship from taobao since the Ikea Hemnes is pretty affordable. 1. Ikea Hemnes 2. Taobao http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=21591795711&spm=a1z0k.7385961.1997985097.d4918997.P7Zl9w&_u=i1sg3n2afeef
  10. Yup, think its out of budget for me. Will be going for aluminium folding doors.

  12. Hi Forumers, I am trying to order led strip from taobao. I heard from a contractor that the 12V versions is better than 220V? Pros: 1. Easier installation as 12V version comes with double side tape 2. Consume less electricity? Cons: 1. Need transformer 2. Shorter distance, may need a few transformer for each "cove" Any experience on the brightness? Anyone can share on this?
  13. Had been busy getting quotations from contractors and 2 IDs. Consolidated the pricing from the shortlisted (cheaper) ID and the combination of contractors. Likely to go for ID for most of the items, and contractors so a couple of items. Please help to advice if the price is reasonable? Thanks in advance.
  14. can quote me painting for my 5 room flat? staying in.
  15. Hi, please quote me for the following 1. Balcony Sliding/folding door 3.5 x 2.1 meters (5/6 fold), white powder coat. Able to open fully. 2. Replace sliding window for 3 bedrooms, keep existing grill. Uncolored aluminium with blue glass tint. a. Master Bedroom 2.8M (4 panels) b. Bedroom 2/3 3.6M (4 panels) You may refer to my t-blog for floor plan, Thanks!
  16. Has been researching and getting quotes for my balcony folding panels. Anyone has done plantation louvers? Dun seems to be a popular option in singapore? But I like the cosy feeling.
  17. I believe everyone prefer to buy locally of the price is reasonable. But when you look at the price for LED strips on taobao vs sg prices... then i can be quite ridiculous...
  18. Hi Tim Could you recommend and quote me a system 4 for the following brand? 1. Mitsubishi Starmex 2. LG Art Cool The 4 fancoils are for 3 bedrooms(~15-18 sqM) and 1 study (~8 sqM). Most of the time will be only having 2 units running, please help to recommend suitable config. Please quote for installation and removal of current system 3 unit. Thanks.
  19. Am interested in the LG artcool as well, anyone with experience?
  20. I need a quote for my glass partition wall. Anyone can recommend a tempered glass supplier?
  21. Just to share my fan purchases in johor. Bought 2 alpha fan and 3 deka fan from tampoi and starworld respectively. Huge savings compare to buying in sg. Both are malaysia "branded". You can chk my tblog for details. I din purchase any lights. But I did enquire that 12w downlights are about 20-25rm. Hope this helps.
  22. Shopping for Fan in Malaysia Just came back from 3D2N staycation in Johor. While wifey and the kids are at Hello Kitty land, I took a 3 hours round trip to Tampoi with a local guide (fren staying in jb). Had planned to get the KDK sensa 4 and the KDK baby, but end up buying 5 made in Malaysia fan. 1. 3 x Deka Baby G @ RM$185 each 2. 1 x Alpha SW8-5b 56" @ RM$373 3. 1 x Alpha SW8-5b 40" @ RM$299 Total damage RM$1194, about SGD$475 for 5 fans. I bought the alphas from Tampoi Lighting, while the Dekas are marketed by Starworld, which is at the other corner of the same building. I believe I might had bought all 5 deka if I had went there first, as the price is much cheaper than Alpha, which is a more establish brand. But nonetheless, the alpha do look better finished. For those interested, Tampoi carries KDK, Alpha, Fanco and Elmark, while Starworld only have Deka. Both brands are winner of Malaysia super brand awards. Another thing to note is that they only accept cash for KDKs. Lugged the 3 Dekas back today, while the 2 Alphas are with my friend, who will help to bring in for me another day. Like the design of the Alpha SW8 over the KDKs. Chose the gun metal black color for all 5 fans. The deka brand was recommended by my fren who installed them at his JB house. They are quiet and reasonably windy, so far no issues reported after 1 year. The Baby G model also come with a led light variant, but cost 100rm extra.
  23. Time to post some pics of the current condition, starting from the living and kitchen areas. Panoramic view of the living/foyer area Living Area Currently the TV is in another corner of the house and this area is not heavily utilised. The idea is to shift the TV to the yellow wall, with white brick walls. The sliding door for balcony will be replace with top hung folding types, and full wood decking for the balcony. Hopefull this will create a clean, open, airy feel. Foyer The partition at the foyer will be removed to make way for a shoe cabinet. There will be an L shaped sitting area on the perpendicular wall. Study Room The current TV corner will be converted into a study room. the platform will be removed and replace with laminate flooring. Tempered glass will be used for the partitioning. Kitchen Some enhancement to the kitchen. First is to modify current tall boy unit to incorporate a build in oven and microwave. Will also be building a new cabinet encapsulating the fridge to create more storage.
  24. Thanks mummychua and songz, think i will reduce the number of downlights. Hi Bianzi, $25 is my own estimate, $40 sounds a lot?! Is this the going rate?
