Lol. That's me la... And btw just get the stainless steel bench la. Otherwise it will bug you every night and day... wahahahaha
  2. Ya man... why is everything so expensive?! But on the bright side, my mum-in-law suddenly gave us IKEA vouchers. God only knows where she got them from, but it's quite a substantial amount. Will be using that to buy my bed! I've been eyeing this particular bed for months because it has storage boxes below. No need to sleep on the floor after all Hmmm okay, I didn't know that there might be an issue with the water pressure. Haha! Guess you have unlocked the secret usage of t-blogs: a way to ensure that the hbs do their fair share of the housework! I'm still trying to figure out how to get mine to volunteer... Cece is good! She got into a fight with a bigger street cat (the cat version of 'small dog syndrome') but no scratches, fleas or random parasites, fortunately. She recently got herself into another adventure; she got lost, and ran over to my mum's neighbour's house by accident. She got locked in the house, and couldn't come back home... I spent the night roaming the estate calling out her name while my hb waited at home (because I accidentally locked him in) but couldn't find her. Next morning, my mum comes in and informs me that she can hear Cece meowing (the critter must've swallowed a loudhailer as a kitten) but she couldn't see her. I ran out to the balcony, called her and lo and behold, Cece peeks out from my neighbour's window--apparently she somehow managed to get out of the house through the window, but was too scared to climb back over... my poor hb had to climb out of the second storey window, cross the shared verandah roof and grab the critter before climbing back in! Cece had this really sheepish look on her face when we got her back, like "Sorry sorry. Won't happen again" which we all know is BS. But we were just glad to have her back. Though pinkhubby says the next time this happens, he's going to just leave her there (like **** he will!). Hahahahahaha! LOL at Tinker! I bet he's thinking "these humans. Spoil my fun only."

  4. Hi paulchng! Welcome to RT! Interesting floorplan you have there! Highly unusual for a 3-room flat.
  5. Eeeek! What a pair of cuties! How old are they?
  6. Wahahaha that is for me to know and for you to (never) find out! Yeah! But I also paying leh... I just spent $700 on sinks, taps and bathroom fittings... broke... and over 3 weeks to my next paycheck!
  7. Haha! He came in once and post once, then he run off liao... my hb just delegates everything to me to do, from the shopping to the waiting for good etc... bad pinkhubby! Update on the bought items later today...
  8. Haha! Yeah, I like items that are cool to touch as well. My mum's old house had marble flooring which makes it nice to lie on at night! And granite has a very luxurious look and feel to it! But no, I'm not getting granite top; it's too expensive for me! =( I'll probably end up buying a granite slab for the times that I do want to bake though.
  9. Yup, because granite tops are cooler (as in temperature-wise), so for pastries that are rich in butter, it slows down the melting speed of the butter in the dough, and makes it easier to knead it. Something I learned from my home econs teacher =)
  10. Yay! Nice top I must say... plus granite is very good for pastry-making! P/s I didn't bug him the other day hor
  11. I'll ask for you when I see Edmund tomorrow for my electrical works la!

  14. WAHAHAHAhahahahhahahahaha!!!! I like this, man!!!
  15. Thanks! This weekend is planning the electrical wiring, and next weekend is carpentry.
  16. What do you mean, what's wrong with pink?! Grarrr~ Glad you finally found your account, btw. It was getting lonely posting here all by myself. Kittehs are doing fine, in case you're wondering. Cece tried to pick a fight with a street cat last night while I was sleeping. Do me a fav also, call lightings.com.sg and see what time they are delivering the lights, and if they can deliver them around 10am, so that I can get everything done by 1.
  17. reizzz: Haha yeah, I never figured out why it was called that. I always use it for ulcers though! Very effective. ^^ I'm just dosing on anti-inflammatories, cough syrup and preventive meds (lest it trigger my asthma). Tomorrow got long meetings some more. sian 1/2
  18. Congrats on the impending start of your renovations! Wishing you a smooth and good reno! I'm also a 3-roomer (one of the 3.5s). Cheers!
  19. Heh, I thought it was metal too! Oh well! This weekend going to meet up with electrician and buy my kitchen sink. Really don't know how I'm going to do this when I have such a huge throat infection now... sian.
  20. I got mine from Star, but a lot of their chairs are leather-upholstered, which I find is rather limited. Maybe something like this, which is in faux suede would be useful; although from my experience with suede, it still gets scratched like siao. But at least if you want to get it reupholstered, it's not so heart-pain, you know what I mean? Or this also: I saw something similar on http://www.haleywood.com.sg/, the products are of pretty good quality, my ex-colleague bought her dining table, a chest of drawers and a few other items from there, and the furniture is quite sturdy. Think it's at Sungei Kadut, if I'm not wrong! They have loads of wood stuff there, maybe you'll find something that's safer from the itchy claws of your cats (SIGH! furkids indeed) Hmmm okay. Then I guess I shouldn't have to worry la, at least about rust!
  21. Yup... Now looking for a secondhand sofa... but not in white! A bright colour would be nice. Hmmm. That's what I was worried about; if the strip used was metal, then if it isn't plastered up completely and is then painted over, will it one day start rusting, and stain the wall?
  22. Ooh okay! Then should be fine bah...
  23. Continuing on the purchasing done on Saturday... Part 3: Where I learn that prioritizing is not my strongest suit After confirming our purchases with Asia Excel, my hb and I were initially headed off to Evensong service, but along the way, something caught my eye: Okay, actually, this wasn't the one that originally caught my attention, the one that really did draw my attention had a slightly different design. We both looked at it and agreed that it was nice! But on second thoughts, I realised that the amount of storage space was actually lesser than the cabinet next to it, which was this one *points above*. Simply put, the one above is deeper, which means that while my hb has to store his shoes sideways regardless of which cabinet we purchase, 2 of my shoes can be stored per shelf on this one, unlike the other (I secretly tested it out while no one was looking). Since the number of shelves are the same for both, that means that I technically get more storage space. Add that to the two drawers on top that can be used to dump all the random barang (I'm such a **** for storage space), and the fact that this one was almost $100 cheaper, and we were both sold. My hb was a bit loathe to pay for the delivery charge of $30, so his solution was: Buy something else to go with it so that we won't have to pay for delivery. To which I was a bit like "HUH???? Spend more money to save money?!?!!" But, since he's the one who's paying, who really cares, right? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... so we browsed around the store for a dining table. I initially wanted to get the one in advancer's dining room 3D because it was just so nice, but when we looked at the price tag, *ahem*. But right next to it was this: You know how sometimes when you look at something, you just know it's THE ONE? Well...it wasn't! I was too busy looking at the other table to notice this one really; plus, I'd taken one glance at it and thought "meh, too small". But after I looked again, I thought it was very much the table I wanted--clean lines and nice design. The price tag was also a draw; almost a third of its original cost. Then the salesperson told me "Oh, this table has storage on both sides under the table" and opened the sides to demonstrate. We bought it on the spot (told you I'm a **** for storage). We got 4 of these chairs to go with it: I would have liked to get the leather ones that were next to the set, but knowing my cats and future children *SIGH* the chairs wouldn't survive a day with them around. So we opted for something a little less aesthetically pleasing but more sensible. Damage done: Slightly over $1.1K for everything (free delivery, to my hb's glee -___-|||) Store: Star Furniture The goods come in first week of November. Will review the store then.
  24. Anyway, just to post up my plastering photos: Study room is completely finished! My contractor did drop by as well and mmsed the photos to me. Noticed a little something though, not sure if I should point it out to him on Saturday... The plasterer used this PVC(? I don't know, it looks like metal to me) strip to make the corners straight. When the plastering was done, I realised that I could still see the strip under the plaster. Is that something that I should be worried about or ask them to redo?
  25. Eep! I cook pretty often (2-3 times a week)... my cabinets are in white! Looks like I'll be spending the better half of my life cleaning...
