Just as expected, I have been over-quoted by the contractor by over one thousand dollars. Why can't they be more honest? I also want to take this opportunity to share that we made a comparism on the tiles pricing between LSH and Hafary. LSH's tiles are slightly more expensive then LSH.

Hi, can anyone teach me how to calculate or read the dimension from my floor plan? Suppose my floor plan is as below and the entire floor area is 91sqm. How do I know the floor area for just the areas shaded in yellow? I have selected a 600 x 600 mm tile @ $3.80 psf. So how much will the tiles cost be? Note, I only need to know the tile cost. Labour and haulage not in consideration. Many thanks.

Hey, you know what? My friend just told me to check out Joo Chiat. Especially now that they are having plenty of stock in to prep for the Hari Raya Puasa market. You have to be patience to comb every shop. She bought one round white one at $199 but she cannot remember the name of the shop. I intend to check the place out if got chance. Don't be put off by some of the gowdy ones display outside their shop, they do have some nice ones in there. That's what my friend says la. Err..by the way, what's wrong with the ones in Ikea? They do have some decent ones...not cheap also.

How did your friend tell then? Perhaps she has a way to 'test' and discovered it's not real leather. Did you find out from her? Otherways are... 1. Check for a seam or where the stitching goes together and there is a raw edge. Man-made materials will usually have fibres or threads visible...real leather lacks these. 2. The thickness of the material can also be an indication, synthetics are usually thinner than leather. 3. The fingernail test... dig into the material with your nail tip. If it's leather it'll leave an imprint that fades very very slowly (as it would if you did it on your own skin). if it's fake leather, it won't leave an imprint at all.

That is why buying from a reliable merchandiser is important. Do not have to worry about such possibility. In any case, why leather? I am against animal cruelty leh. There are PU leather that looks and feels as good as real and at half the price. Just some thoughts only...one is entitled for every right
