  1. Precisely, but if we get these services thru the IDs, they charge a GST on these services even thou they out source to a 3rd party. Imagine the 7% GST on your 3-4K Electrical & Plumbing service...I just thought it's not worth it.
  2. This was what my gf gave me but she said he waive off a lot of charges for the complete job and gave discounts wor...plus no GST some more 1.power point $55 2.Lighting point $38 3.installation fees $10 4.single plug 13amp $45 5.isolater point $120 6.aircon 15amp $90 7.heater point $90 8.scv point $90 9.telephone point $45 10.DV whole set $38-48 11.speaker point $50 12.5 rooms rewiring $2800 13.4 rooms rewiring $2500 14.3 rooms rewiring $1800
  3. Wow! Your's look big. What is the size? Think mine is 90sqm. So what was your total damage and what are the list of things you have done huh? My facing is my neighbour's windows. hahaha. It's an internal facing. Yours? Are you staying on a low floor by any chance as we saw someone on the 2nd or 3rd floor doing reno recently. Not sure if it's yours thou...
  4. I so happy. Been hoping to chat with someone staying there but most of the thread is so old. Yes, it's a resale. I am at block 482...which is near you right? Yes, mine is a 4 room too...**** weird floor plan too. But my FH decided on this place merely because of the serenity environment. Mostly young couples with dogs too. hahaha. Did you engaged a ID or Contractor? We only saw the unit once and it seems pretty worn. Simple ID quotes with kitchen cabinets and toilet stuff are costing us close to 20K +/-...minus the electricial & plumping work. We are still reviewing some quotes. Tell me more about yours... Is your floor plan something like mine? http://img34.picoodle.com/img/img34/4/7/4/...82m_9625f2d.jpg
  5. A friend who had her house done up not so long ago, gave me her contact for the electrician company she engaged. I must say they did a very good job for her at a fraction of the price and may consider using them instead of the ID's. Friend advice me to do away with some of the services that ID provides at a mark-up price. Why not? Can use the money saved on other details for the house. After all, the IDs are all using an out-source electrician and plumber to begin with. My friend merely told her ID she has her preferred electrician and plumber, gave the ID xx Cxxxxxxx Exxxxxxxx's contact and told them to laise with them. Apparently, they could assist with the plumber service as well as they have their own contacts. Not bad I don't have to be intimidated by the $3-4K of electrical & plumber service which the ID provide liao. Yahooo... For those who are interested, I will be happy to share the contact which my friend gave me. [Address Edited]. Mr. Kxxxx Cxxxx 9xxx xxxx. Wah got email some more, just noticed. hehehehe...kxxx.xxxx@gmail.com [Please refrain from advertising the number and Address. Use PM if possible.]
  6. Hi, should all ID have a standard charge list for the above work? Almost all the ID I have seen will have something like this... To supply lighting points @ $38 per point To supply labour to install light fittings @ $12 per light To supply & install 13AMP single socket @ $65 per point To supply & install 13AMP double socket @ $75 per point To shift existing telephone pt @ $50 per point To shift existing tv/scv point @ $90 per point I am perfectly ok with it. However, one of the ID firm which we have short-listed as among the preferred, quoted me a lump sum like few thousands for each. When we asked for a list as such, they reply us as "The plumbing & electrical quotation is based on the estimated average standard 4RM flat. We will only provide the breakdown when my plumber and electrician visit your new house." How much truth is it to this? I feel a little uncomfortable hearing this. Please feel free to comments...
  7. Eh? Define HIGH please? How high can a HDB ceiling be?
  8. Omg!!! I found my mate! Hey, we shd be moving in to that vicinity soon. My 2nd appt should be in Jul. Which flat type are you staying in? Did you renovate? Maybe you can give us some sound advice.
  9. Hi, that's not too bad!!! Quite an achievement. Is it possible to share your quotation with me? Will be very much appreciative I will PM you my email. Cheers
  10. Hi, care to share who is servicing you from ***** and Rezt & Relax. They are two of those I have approached but have not finalised my selection yet...
  11. Oh yes and btw...Ikea is having a sale starting from this Friday 4 June. Members get early preview from 8am. So maybe you may want to take leave, AWOL, MC, etc
  12. Thanks for your advice But I do have a very small area. My living & dining area is one small stretch which may not be able to have that mixture. Sigh...Likely will consider L-Box as I agree that false ceiling makes the house feels 'lower'. Yeah...for my case, the false ceiling is more expensive then the L Box but not significantly much.
  13. Oic But hor, think why not you ask Roy and hear what he has to say. You have every right to ASK mah since you are a customer leh... For the glass swing door, think there's a few type. clear or frosted is the primary type. Perhaps the frosted ones come in greenish panel like those you are using bah....
  14. No way!! They actually tell you that??? That's so mean! Anyway, no losses on your end. It's their lost! So, what's your total damage for your house reno?
  15. Hi, I still having a tug-of-war between the false ceiling and L-box at the Living/Dining area. Any advice from forummers and care to share some comments? How do I know which to choose. Sigh...
  16. Hi, I discovered this shop by chance in Beach Road and am quite certain that I will get my dining chairs from them. The company name does not speak much of the company and design but I swear they have great and reasonable priced chairs. Best thing is...chairs are their main focus. Visit their site at www.comfortfurniture.com.sg They have a lot of 'barcelona', 'kartell' designs kinda chairs. Read between the lines
  17. Hey, you are not alone I am only expected to collect our keys in July. Things we have bought:- 1. L-Shape Sofa 2. Dinning Table 3. Queen Size Bed 3. 20. Hey, hi! Wondering if you can share Ideal Design's quotation with me? Just wanna review their rates before deciding if I should ask them for an official quotation. I will PMed you my contact. Thanks a million.
  21. Wow interesting transformation. Did you mentioned who your ID is? What is the total 'damage' you expecting huh?
  22. Looks ok to me too. Seems like you are having a bathroom overhaul. The cost is reasonable. Suggestion to cut budget is perhaps on the bed head with 2 side tables @ $2300. We had that intension actually but decided to buy it off the rack better. Cheaper too. Think about it. Another point...false ceiling in the bathroom? Designer bathroom it seems Agree too that your feature walls are the other heavy cost items.
