compassvale 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2007 Hi, my kitchen is not entirely a open kitchen concept, but I have 2 entrances/exits to my kitchen, and for both, i do not have doors. The hood does not help much, and it certainly does not prevent fumes and grease all over the house. Smoke.fumes.food smell will penetrate the entire house if i do not take extra care while cooking. To minimise the cooking fumes situation at home, i try to cover the pan/wok as much as possible while cooking. My main assistant is a huge industrial fan, which i place at one end of the kitchen, and use it blow fumes out of the kitchen (via the yard).
