Blanco Granite Kitchen Sink

Recommended Posts

so far i've not seen a sink carved out of granite in singapore yet :)

the 'granite' sink we are talking about are actually composite sinks

the majority on the market comtains either 70% or 80% of granite

blanco is one of the better known brands for 80% granite, franke's fragranite is another one

blanco is available at hoe kee

installation should be the same regardless of the material of the sink

for your case the leakage should be due to poor workmanship in sealing the edges instead of the material of the sink :dribble:

hehehe replied you in the other thread

for blanco, only the metra9 which is on perm promo is 'affordable'

initially i wanted a s/s until i laid my eyes on another blanco sink

the price was $2k+ so had to settle for the metra9 :jawdrop:

blanco is expensive coz of the brand and composition, think those 70% ones are even cheaper @ $200++

what's your budget like?

so far so good, mine is the metallic silver colour

no staining problem, even though i wash the sink about once a week or when i see stains

only thing is the water don't seem to flow very smoothly to the drainage

just saw from some UK sites that blanco stopped producing the metra9 liao

maybe that's why hoe kee is trying to clear stock :notti:

hmm so far have not let curry sit in the sink for long

unless you are referring to pouring curry into the sink and wash, that no problem

maybe if you pour curry and leave it for a week then :bleah::notti:

....

I am considering to buy the blancometra 9 too. When you mentioned the "water don't seem to flow smoothly to the drainage", are you saying you have to use your hand to "push" the remaining water to the drainage hole, otherwise the water don't drain out of the sink totally, leaving little puddles of water in the sink?

Makes me want to rethink my purchase.

Thanks in advance for yr feedback.

eh not really having puddling problem

maybe i've put it the wrong way

when i wash bowls with remaining contents in it

the food stuff tend to stay in the sink rather than flowing to the drainage hole

got to pour some water to 'push' the bits towards the drainage

think that's due to the flatness of the bottom, it's really really flat :dancingqueen:

thank you for yr clarification -- you restored my confidence in that sink model, especially when you mentioned the blancometra 9 is no longer in production in the UK. i checked the blanco website and found that particular model don't seem to be listed in their current catalog.

however, i like the big bowl size and the overall design, so will go ahead with the purchase, as long as it is functional and practical for my needs. :notti:
