The fabric on sale at Ikea is quite cheap, ranging from $8-15 /m. There's also a separate sewing service available (check with the stuff for details).

u have measure ur height and length of ur windows and check whether ready made curtains suit u?

i think as long as it's hdb...no problem on the size except for those new flats with full height windows.

just take the measurements of all your windows and go to toa payoh central/joo chiat, tell the shopowners you want readymade curtains and they will tell you which one to buy.

try the curtain shop at clementi central (the one nxt to the coffeeshop). they have got a wide range of design & fabric in ready-made & custom-made curtains. price wise i tink depends on the fabric u choose.

Hi!

Am tagging along on this thread.

I want to just install the brackets and the poles

(double for the living for day n night curtains)

Curtains I will buy as and when I find the right ones.

But I am not sure the Ikea brackets can tahaan

the weight ...esp the metal ones. :yamseng:

Has anyone used ikea ones over a long period of time?

Also i find the screws they provide for diy brackets are not long enuf

and can drop off if the plaster peel or if the curtains tugged hard by kids

Where can I buy simple (inexpensive) but sturdy brackets for poles??

I want it fast so I can ask my contractor to drill them for me.

Spotlight .... I havent yet chkd out.

Thanks in advance

Don't buy Ikea.

As for screws, you can always buy your own.

Where can buy only brackets ?? How much ?

Will they install for free if only buy the hardware... guess not :P

if not must buy fast so my contractor can drill

and install for me.

I too have this very shaky feel abt ikea...curtains can change.

But brackets or rods better get it done right and good the first time!!

a metal bracket is a metal bracket. my cheapo ikea brackets no problems so far...and BTW my curtain rods are STAINLESS STEEL PIPES. Go imagine the weight.

Hi Mace!

Et tu??

Did u put single or double brkts? I mean single curtain or day + nite curtains?

the difference in pricing is very high.. wen I compare ikea with others.

Did u buy those single digit brackets (I mean the pricing in in single digit)

or the complete sets..pole bracket etc.. which range from 29 ++

to 59... ??

Thanks in advance.
