Registering Tenants To Hdb

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I've just bought an HDB flat.

Can I just let a friend stay in one of the rooms without registering with HDB?

I'm not intending to rent out the room so it doesn't make sense if I register with HDB as room subletting.

If there isn't any money involve , don't think need to register with HDB.

Just make sure your friend has proper legal Doc to stay in Singapore if your friend is foreigner.
