Hi guys im looking to upgrade from a 4 to 5 room flat for personal reasons.

Do any of you know in which area have those individual 1 block 5 room flat?

those with only 4 units in one floor? E.G AMK,Braddel,TOA PAYOH

Please take a look at this link for an example

Cause those tend to be more spacious and also the squarish design allow easier renovation and purchase of furniture.\

However the house in the link exceeds budget and was looking for similar houses somewhere more rural.

you mean point block hdb? these blocks are usually older and only in older estate would have them. you can try around woodlands or jurong area.

Point block valuation itself, easily can hit $600k.

Mature estate has point block.

I say valuation.. not the whole selling price.

Some location might be higher, some may be lower.

This blogger has a pretty comprehensive list of floor plans thru the years. The nice squarish 4-5 room layouts lasted till mid-1990s. The oddly shaped ones came about mostly in the 2000s. Good luck with your search.

Actually For me the most desired location would be AMK Toa Payoh Area.

But i know is too much to ask for considering that i have a pretty strict budget of 500 to 600k.

But sorry just for information. when did HDB start building Point Block and when did they stop?

Want to know the average age of these houses

Point Block min age 30.

Bedok and AMK should be around early 80s.

That's why u only can found them in mature estate.

Ermm... Kallang Bahru / St George's Rd (Boon Keng area)... i tink Ubi also have... Hougang too...

For kallang bahru i tink the prices are pretty exp... lately saw online at abt 650-680k for 5rm point block... as for St George's, shd be 500+k... but doesnt seem to notice any ppl selling... Hee...

Anyway i notice that seng kang recently have been very popular especially with first time HDB buyers.

Lots of upgrading there and also the new DBSS type of HDBs

Currently looking at this flat

Compassvale HDB

whats your openion? issit worth the buy?

cause i found out that its not near the mrt.

However i got hear rumors that the building of mrt is in progress?

I don't think sengkang have any point block. Don't think they will have new mrt line to sengkang. What is there is already enough with lrt as well.
