hi, sorry I am new to this forum, hence I need all of your advice/comments on my quotation.

Below is my quotation for a new 4 room HDB. Please help me see if my quote is reasonable and what other stuffs are needed but are left out in this quote.. Thanks a lot for your help! Really appreciate it.

1 Supply & lay heavy duty homogeneous flooring @ living, dining hall with skirting

2 Supply & lay heavy duty homogeneous flooring @ household shelter area

5 Construct shower kerbs at both bathrooms

B Ceiling Works

1 Supply & install L-box cornices ****/Dining

1 Design and Fabricate 20ft top + bottom kitchen cabinet by using postform doors

2 Design and fabricate 10ft solid surface worktop

3 Provide designer handles, double layer drainage tray and cutlery tray

4 Provide 1 pair of clear/sand blast glass panel

D Plumbing Works

1 Extend copper piping for new kitchen sink area

2 Extend copper piping for new washing machine area

3 Connect inlet & outlet pipe for sink & washing machine

4 Install 1 no. of storage heater (provided by owner)

For tiles: what will be the dimension on of it. And how much is psf?

Laminated flooring: What is the brand and the quality given from the renovator?

Washer and fridge base: will it be up to owners measurement as to be fair to the owner on what item had been purchase.

hmm.. most of the things you guys commented.. my id did not really specify them...

as for the laminated flooring.. he said tt he'll be using his own company's laminated flooring.. he showed the sample to me when i met him for appointment the other time.. the name is alsapan flooring..do u know of this brand? is it good?

if i remember correctly, the price quoted on the sample is somewhere ard $6.50... i guess tt's the price of the laminated flooring? but he did not tell me the price of the homogenous tiles and i had forgotten to ask him.. i'll ask him the next time though..

as for the paints, i was told there will be 3 coats (excluding the base)... hmm... guess my quotation is still v vague.. and there are still a lot of things that i needa to ask him about..

personally, i feel that if you are not taking a package

it'll be good to have itemised quotation where every item is specific

e.g. supply and lay (size e.g. 600 x 600) (homogenous or porcelain or ceramic) tiles ****, dining with skirting (cost in absolute dollars) (max price psf)

so the item should read

supply and lay 600 x 600 porcelain tiles **** and dining with skirting $3000 (max $3psf)

for carpentry items, it'll be good if the entire length, max height, material (solid ply/ply/chip-board), laminate (brand, country etc) etc listed down as well

quite a few forummers had IDs / contractors who went back on their words simply because it's not stated in the contract / quotation

Hi all, i had engaged Aven from G Plan. These are what i going to do for my new 85m2, 4 room flat. Is the price reasonable?

1) Granite flooring with skirting for living/dinning and three bedrooms

ya, i've got 3 quotations so far.. but one is way above my budget, and the other budget seems ok.. but felt tt the id was not really gd... design wise not really practical.... am waiting for another quotation from another id but till now still no news from him... will call him again to ask for quotation... as for the one who quoted me the quotation in this post... he seems to be able to 'click' with us and understands what we want in the designs... n he seems quite earnest n sincere n knows what he is doing...

i havent sign the contract with him yet..as in the official one.. but i've paid a deposit of 200 for his 3-d drawings though.. i paid the deposit at one of those fairs at expo,... cos got promotion package...

i still havent meet him for further discussion on the materials n cost, but guess if he's still not really upfront with the materials, i am prepared to forefeit the deposit and find another whos better...

actually i hope to sign up before the gst hike... so i paid the deposit first.. but out of the 3 ids i've talked to.. this one seems to be the 'right' person... sigh..

u might want to give my id a try. mine's a em n i spent ard 30k renovating. things like re-vamp of the whole kit n 3 toilets (inclusive of tilings, WCs, plumbing, gallon heater, wiring, shower screen, tempered glass door @MT, bi-fold door @ CT, basins, rubbish chute, carpentry works), re-grind & re-varnish of parquet flooring @ 3 bedrooms, passageway, staircase n hand railings, re-polishing of marble flooring @ living n dining, hack some walls, re-erect some walls, plastering, painting, paritions, haulage, debris removal, acid wash, general wash.
