If you have a general contractor, just ask him to do it, he'll source it for you.

Otherwise, look for "Doors" in yellow pages, call a few companies and ask.

I have found a few glass merchants/tempered glass installers by simply searching for "Tempered Glass" in the Internet Yellow Pages.

I have a question resulting from my search. The ease of sliding the glass panels must weigh heavily on the smoothness and strength of the running track cum glass clamp system. How do I ensure that I get the best, so that it'll always be easy to slide the doors over time??

For that you have to rely on the brand name of the sliding mechanism. If I am not wrong Besglass and Aust-Screen have good mechanism.

tempered glass usually has a tempered logo or wordings on that pc of glass. but you can ask them not to print it on the glass too before they do it if u dont like those print on your glass table top. print on glass dr or glass partition is ok cos it is usually a very small wordings.

It is not a good idea to ask your contractor or glass supplier NOT to put the tempered glass logo on your tempered glass. They could well supply you a normal piece of glass and charge you the price of tempered. The logo is colourless anyway, so I can't imagine how much of an eyesore it can be. It's better to have, than not to have, in my opinion.

You are right - actually my place also not using besglass or aust-screen; find them too expensive. Now still very happy with the 'normal' mechanism from your friendly 'no-brand' glass co...hehe... (IMG:http://203.142.16.149/forum/style_emoticons/default/notti.gif)

Some people use colourless to describe white mah - if really cannot see then its transparent, not colourless!

For me I also rather to have the logo as a safeguard.

Think about this, *touchwood*: If the glass breaks, injured someone and you found that its not tempered, you would want to claim compensation from the glassmaker, isn't it? So they come and inspect, no logo, quickly push and say, "That time you did not order tempered glass".

Besglas quoted me 1.2k for my shower enclosure 2.2m length, 2.1m height, 10mm clear tempered with swing door. seems about the same (880/1.5*2.2=1290). Why not you give them a call and ask them for a quote over the phone? Remember to ask for discount (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

This depends on what kind of glass door u r doing right? If normal shower screens don't think is this price. Mine is framless sliding which should be more ex than normal swing door type is cheaper than your price. Think u better compare apple to apple, just giving size & thickness alone prices can varies.......

u can try call 9832 6166 to enquire (did my both hse, gd)

Just did swing glass door for my toilet .. done by my ID. Here's what they charge:
Frosted : $450
Clear : $350

But there's a lot of supplier you can find from Sat Straits Times classified ad that does glass door.
Check with a couple on the price they are charging for the frosted type, and they quote ranging from $330 - 350.

For Besglas , somehow i find them kinda ex when i check them out last time (but its for the post wardrobe system). They have a showroom at IMM.

Let them earn a bit as long as they give u all 10mm tempered glass shower screen. Moreover, different size, different pricing. Whatever brands using, still tempered glass so brand is no a big concern. It was the stainless steel hinges and the handle that will make a different in the long run. Open 90 deg and open 180 deg hinges also cost differently. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yamseng.gif)

As long as they coordinated well and no problem, the different is not much. Imagine that if u want to save the bit and you need to take a day off from work, wait for the installer to take measurement, then another day off, for the installer to install, it may cost u even more due to the time u spend, transportation,etc....
