  1. Sorry to hear that your hand over has been delayed, i can emphatized with you since we have been there. Just to share my experience .. Review the outstanding items has not been completed, list them out in chinese on a piece of paper and stick to a window. Ask jason or uncle to go down and go through the whole list, marking out those important ones. Get them to commit a date to fix and who will be fixing it. For rectifications, I suggest you prioritize them and make sure those that generate a lot of dust ones gets completed first. Then, ask them to clean up and plan to move in first. We have just moved in and along the way, we found some minor rectifications that need to be done. Now, we are just listing down and will probably ask them to come back to finish the rest in 1 or 2 weeks time.
  2. I am sorry to hear of your carpentry issues, reminds me of all of ours .. Since the rest have all give constructive comments so i shall not repeat them. Just here to lend you some moral support and hopefully it gets resolved in a win-win situation for you and uncle
  3. Aubrey, Good info on the tvs, thanks for sharing. I think i will get my hubby to come and read your thread before we go buy LCD during the GSS or PCShow. He is eyeing the sony one as he says samsung colors are too vibrant for his eyes. I know nuts but just watch .. hahaha
  4. Looks like everything is going swee swee for you. The painting really does wonders right? That was what I felt after they apply a new coat of paint to my house I like the wall tiles combination behind your rain shower too, a bit 'kim kim' with black trimmings
  5. Yup, moved in last saturday. Now slowly unpacking and finding some things to rectify as we live in our home.
  6. Hmm .. don't be so upset, just talk to Uncle. I am not sure what wood they used on my kitchen cabinet becos the exposed parts are cover with white pvc. But I know the other day when they were dismantling part of it, the guys were standing on top of the bottom cabinet and it was ok. In fact, when I was cleaning it, I also stand on it too (and i am not that light ). The thickness of the panel is about there, if you want, I can go back and measure later
  7. aiya .. wasted, we just got our electrolux dryer last week!!!!
  8. Extreme lighting is along balestier road, very nearby the founder bak kut teh (i think) .. The thin guy with spectacles is George, he is quite nice. 1) The electrician (Uncle's team) will install the lights and switches for you 2) Actually i ask Uncle to propose the number of downlights, but in the end we reduce 2 more from the living area and it turns out well. If you are getting 2x18, we got at 22 with atco ballasts and osram bulbs. 3) Toilet accessories, need to measure. Especially the wc, do confirm with Uncle before buying. For kitchen, you need to plan where to put the sink, cooker hood and hob. Then buy those that can fit in ..
  9. Hmm, you are moving this weekend ah .. unfortunately i have only unpacked a few boxes but the rest i do not have time to do it until weekend. Try to ask your office aunties / cleaners, they usually will have some
  10. Your reading corner looks nice .. i like the curves of the chair very much
  11. Time for an update .. We had a major scare last Friday when city gas technician came down to turn on the gas. After running some tests, he said there was leak somewhere and he could not turn on the gas. I immediately called Jason ..but cannot get him. After many rounds of frantic calling, I finally got Ah Soon. Ah Soon told me that he may need to tear down the kitchen cabinets since part of my gas pipes are concealed the cabinets. As the city gas guy had already left, had to call city gas mainline again and they told us they can only send a officer down the next day. I immediately said no, and 'beg' for someone to come down because we were moving in the next day. After some ding-donging, the same city gas guy was sent back. Ah Soon managed to get 'Ah Chong' to come to my place and after removing a small section in the cabinet, they found a dented pipe and got it replaced. I really Thank God that they managed to find it there, or else I cannot imagine if they have to redo the kitchen cabinets. We moved in on Saturday while my wardrobe door is still being fixed. There was really chaos with the movers and carpenters around the house! Only when it was late in the evening then we realised that one of cabinet doors got dented .. guess it must due to the lack of space at that time. Told Jason about it yesterday when he came by with the bak chang. Hopefully it will not costs us too much Sorry no pictures yet as there are too many boxes and bags and things not yet unpacked. We are just dead tired from packing (never did we realised that we had accumulated so much things!), moving and cleaning. Will update again when our place ke yi jian ren After moving in, we found some more rectifications, e.g. water flow in MBR shower a bit slow So, hopefully will get it all fixed in due time. For new owners using city gas, please arrange to turn on your gas earlier. Hopefully no one will have to suffer the anxiety and agony that I had to go through during those 2-3 hours
  12. Ya, we moved within the same estate. So actually can see from afar if the lights are on or not
  13. Hmm .. bi-fold door really cannot keep it close from outside ah? My common toilet door still cannot make it after re-installation .. hiaz, thinking of changing to normal bi-fold.
  14. hey, it is ok. whatever is done is done, don't be upset okie? if ah soon says he will do it, just accept it lah .. maybe you can buy him some gift for him later i hope you are not offended okie? i was just sharing about our discussion with ah soon about the switches
  15. Congrats to your new home! Thanks for sharing the testimony of the Lord's goodness to you and family. May He continue to shower you with many blessings!
  16. Yup, Jason was at my place in the morning becos he came to fix my 'block' kitchen sink .. which he promised a few days back but dilly dally till the hand-over day But he left around 11+ leh, with the painter. Maybe he went somewhere else before he go to your place lor I wonder if my wardrobe carpenter is the same as yours 'cos I didn't catch his name. As for the switch saga, Ah Soon only uses MK as he gets them in bulk (i think). When we initially wanted another brand, Ah Soon said that we can buy our own and he can install for us. So it is a good thing that they are agreeable to buy the legrand switches and install it for you Do try to be around when the electrician is installing stuff. Make sure you tests everything too
  17. Sorry to hear that the wallpaper still CMI. Is your house all cleaned-up and all rectified already?
  18. To be fair, Uncle is a very nice man, so is Jason. It is more of their workload and also the quality of some of the workers that sometimes causing heartache/frustrations. So, it is a matter of whether you can take it or not. Audrey, do you know who is your carpenter? Growler, i have seen two groups of painters - 3 malay guys and the other group is 2 chinese. I prefer the Chinese guys, he is quite careful and very accomodating when i asked him to touch up here and there.
  19. wah, you very good life leh. must treasure your smartie more okie my hubby is the one to tell me, eh here got problem - call ah soon, call jason, call ah tan, call the carpenter. less errors means less rectifications -> faster and swee swee completion
  20. Just a update on the progress .. I saw the lights was on at my place late last night .. and i was wondering who was there when it was so late. Then my hubby saw someone at the window and guess it was ah soon, so i called him immediately. Wah bingo, it was really him! So we quickly change and rush over to go over the outstanding items with him. During our discussion, Ah Soon saw that my bedroom 2 door was damage. Story was that I had cleaned up that room and to prevent dust from getting in, i placed a wet towel to cover the gap. But I didn't know that door was not nyatoh and then it got damage when the water seeped in. Well, it was really my fault and my hubby called a door contractor to get a quote for replacement without telling jason or ah soon. Anyway, Ah Soon was very kind and offered to replace the door for us there and then. So the door was installed today and already painted, for free! We were really impressed with his dedication and efficiency There are still some outstanding items: pd door at common toilet, mbr wardrobe doors so hopefully it will all be fixed before saturday
  21. Well .. almost there. Still got outstanding pd door for common toilet and MBR wardrobe doors. Some other things we will just close one eye lah .. a bit tired becos of all the packing and cleaning Got quite a bit of paint spots all over the house, so today whole day on my knees scrubbing But still got more cleaning to go becos tomorrow the curtains will be installed and some hooks need to installed for the painting
  22. Seems like everyone who got pd doors need some form of rectification, no wonder Jason and Ah Soon say they don't want to install pd door anymore hmm .. i dunno who will come and re-install the pd door for me. Jason only told me that they will install it tomorrow, hopefully it will turn out fine.
  23. Congrats to your start of the reno journey .. Your house looks really big, especially the hall and kitchen. But the common toilet looks a bit dark in the picture ..
  24. wah .. you all very hardworking, lay the floor covering yourself smartie is really smart, can do 3d drawings somemore .. this will help to prevent any miscommunication along the way
