  9. Check out HDB website and look at past resale prices around the area you want to have a better idea of what it will cost
  10. My quotations ranges from 10k to 28k with slight variations in the items, so will be difficult to tell you also the real market rates. Sometimes you have to see the details of the quotations and know where one of them charge more in one area, yet another more in another... sometimes you wonder the quality of the stuff too... really a hard choice... other than price, able to communicate/click is another important reason why I've shortlisted my few so far...
  11. saw a leather sofa costing $500+ including the same conditions... too bad I've already booked a bed, seems like I missed many offers because of one bed, haha...
  12. thank you yea, my wife and I have shortlisted a few... just going to see how much discount they'll give, then going have a look at their current projects... then sign on that line..
  13. that's one reason why I'm going to have the most simpliest lights in renotalk (i hope )
  14. can't really do that now as the quotes are all over the place... sorry, and of course, what I'm doing to my unit might not be the same as what you do... I'll probably do a write up on those I've sourced later...
  15. not yet, still meeting 1 tonight and narrowing down on few more quotes. Going to finalise by this week. By the time of your 2nd appt, it will be somewhere oct/now le, quite many people doing renovation at that time, so it's good to source now hopefully they don't have too many projects and make it a rush job..
  16. some singles can earn more than 5k a month which is easily the combined income of 2 people?! HDB already released that their pricing is according to market demand and not just a normal mark up from cost of construction.... (read that in renotalk) married people are given 'priority' to units because they need a private place to produce the next pillar in the government mah... 35 is also a good age to avoid singles buying for just trading... besides, singaporeans do not have the bird leaving nest pattern like in US, so most people will stay with parents if they are singles (usually), due to the lack of land, and the need for babies, more priorities are given to married lor
  17. I'm meeting my 12th and maybe 13th tmr evening, think I have enough, thank you wow, below $10k?! tempting but I should let it be... my apt is probably in a more original state than yours is
  18. you can bargain with them but as you're tied to the contract, if they want to insist on changing, then you have to let them otherwise you will be the one dishonoring it in the end..
  19. you sounded quite confident mah yea, gds/service delievered has to be acceptable by the "common" man mah... even the singtel bill caused by unacceptabled wiring also.... haha, i've just studied business law last year but deferred the exam... it's becoming too vague...
  20. he knew he was introduced in renotalk maybe he's reading this o...
  21. From a very simple knowledge of business laws, (not a lawyer though), you don't have to pay until they change the piping for you... and of course, throw them the bill from SingTel because the issue was caused by them... this is because by not giving you a proper piping, they actually failed to deliver the service... rierie, am I right?!
  22. we're trying to work out a comfortable sum without borrowing too much, likely to be around 10+k because we do not do carpentry (except bottom cabinet) and no floor tiles to hack (except kitchen), probably no cornices, no rewiring.... just basics...
