  1. hi, i just finished painting my walls, below are some of my experience... if it's not plaster, it's good idea to plaster the wall before painting, makes painting a lot easier. also must apply sealer first before the actual paint or else paint may peel. there's 2 type of sealer, water & oil based. water based: more for living rm & bedroom cellings and walls oil based: best for kitchen or toilet cellings suppose to last longer. i choose nippon 5L water based sealer (ard $26), i heard from my contractor got another brand of water based sealer 20L ard $40 plus starts with 'M'
  2. is the cost inclusive of sealant? if they dun apply sealant, the paint will peel after some time.
  3. for electrical applicanes no need to buy so early cos the prices will decrease in time, new model release, old model price drop. maybe u should wait till your reno start b4 making purchases?
  4. now panasonic 42" plasma, 42c10s is selling @ $999 plus $300 ntuc vocuhers nia. my set will be arriving tomorrow frm goh ah bee.
  5. 1. think they will relay the pipings for u since it's part of their free installation. 2. no idea, can call gain city or other aircon vendor to check 3. 2 trips means 1st trip to install pipings and insulations and trucking, 2nd trip to install aircon unit hope this info help
  6. i saw the advertisement in 'Today'this morning, the price is not cheap, remember to check a few other places like www.coolserve.com or even courts before going down to grab your aircon. for aircon installation shd be using thick insulator, i was charge $120 for it. if they charge u, tell them other places is free (e.g courts). i got some bad experience with gain city installer can check my blog for details.
  7. nice progress!!! shd be able to finish on time.

  11. Some quick updates: Last weekend sibei siong ah, finished with my painting with the help of my 2 ex-army mates, ah boy and ah bui. They say i slimmed down a lot leh, wat happen, i told them must be the painting from the previous week. We started painting from ard 1pm to 8pm. Their standard very high lor, i show them the bedrooms me & my wife painted, they say got lots of touch up to do, if u can live with this we also nevermind, so embrassing man. hahaha yesterday i started to touch up my living room & kitchen celling @ ard 10am. seriously no joke painting the celling man. afternoon my wife join me as we started to scrub the floor, we used ''GIF', it's quite good at removing stubborn staints like paint, grease ... eh how u remove the dirty gout line??? only manage to clean a few part using 'GIF' after hrs of scrubing
  12. they sell electrical applicances lor, fans, fridge, tv, washing machines. i ordered my elba washing machine, dryer, pansonic plasma, mitsushibi fans and frigde from them, just call them and tell than the model no and they'll quote u the price. u can call to check the market price from them b4 going out shopping lor, so got a rough estimate of the pricing. but they dun provide extended warranty that HN, BEST have.
  13. pbtgal, nice progress so far. i love the ambience cove lights create but like that u say maintance siong and most of the time i'll be doing it, so skip cove lights for my reno. takomi, hahaha, i experience b4 gaincity guy very diffcult to communicate.
