If you're staying at ground floor, go ahead and look for a gate but for higher floor, I will ask you to reconsider. The people who are going to your floor will mainly be your neighbours, cleaner, postman, friends and family of you and your neighbours. There's no sales people usually (unless they sneak past your security)... My parents' place has a gate and it is kinda a white elephant... It is however your preference though

That's fine with me too considering that my wife and I don't really cook much, just like you and your family... and true, was thinking about living without some furnitures first but getting the reno done first... does it work to have renovation done first and getting kitchen cabinet done later? But contractors usually tend to charge slight cheaper as a whole renovation process than multiples.. Oh, didn't know must get the quote first... the bank already put 'lower of $30,000 or 6x of salary' still need to be so ma fan de one ID (a friend of a friend) also told me 10k is very little to do what I want... lol

I'm just thinking flooring, kitchen cabinet (likely just bottom), (might even cut wardrobe), toilet.. I think toilet accessories and furnitures not that bad with credit card installment payments... but do need to do my sums since there might be renovation loan involved, and my other regular payments...

I need the flooring done as there is no tiles now except for kitchen where there is the old kind of mosaic tiles... My wife and I are considering renovation loan and how much to borrow actually...

My budget for now is only 10k *face red*... it is very low I know but my wife and I are wondering how much to really do or not to while at the same time preparing for a chinese dinner in december and still paying for study loans. We may adjust our budget later though after we get a few quotes.

read your whole t-blog today, after coming back from a long time from this thread and realised I read about Jojo and your sink without hole before from your blog... just wondering, is it better to re-wire for a flat that is over 30 years to play safe? wouldnt want any thing to happen after moving into an unit but also watching my budget... will uncle soon advise on this matter?

Did read a bit some time back and then went away to prepare for exams in june while waiting for key... I guess I'm going to contact them for quotes but looking at what you all are spending, I think I might not get a lot done with my budget... haha... Trying so hard not to take a bank loan for renovation...
