  1. Hi tintongman U may try Acton Design in City Plaze. Got my place done up by this contractor in Jun-Jul 09. The boss, Jeffrey 96264728, runs all the projects himself personally. Reasonbly price with quality work. Cheers
  2. Hi I bought a MN TR 102 kitchen sink from PJ last Aug 09 and has been using it without any problems so far. Like the single big bowl design as it allows us to wash large cooking pots/ pans. My wife got a SS top tray to place over the sink so that the plates can dry out after washing. For washing the veggies; she got me to pay for a plastic container (need to buy seperately from the sink) comes with a removal stopper at its base to plug the water in. She has stop using it after 2 months! The nice sale girl (Chen Yang) at the PJ Jln Besar branch gave me a nice discount when I got my rest of my kitchen and bathroom stuff togther with the sink. Cheers
  3. Hi becks150 BCA recommends that a cement-sand plaster or a gypsum plaster is to be used for plastering. http://www.bca.gov.sg/housing/sp/Renovatin...nterCeiling.htm http://www.bca.gov.sg/housing/sp/Renovatin...PointerWall.htm Two weeks back a HDB inspector happened to come over my resale unit to inspect some ceiling cracks and I asked his opinion on plastering kitchen, toilet and bathroom ceilings. He adviced me not to do it as the plaster layer being heavy and constantly exposed to higher humidity level will not last long in the kitchen and bathroom. He suggested that skim coating to applied instead. In the contrary one of my potential contractors says that plastering kitchen, toilet and bathroom ceilings is fine. He also assured me that before actual painting; the plastered walls and ceilings will be coated with a sealer layer for 'sealing in' the plaster. Have the contractor repaired your ceiling?
  4. Hi eiffel, Is the Roller on top type more lasting? I am planning to get this type for my toilet and bathhroom. Do you know where can I buy this type from? Thanks
  5. Hi Porkyping, Planning to buy a MN sink also. Found its thickness much thicker than other brands and waste colleton basket seems practical to us. My wife 'die die' must have the 2 staining trays which comes foc with the sink (model: TR-118). Only PJ retails this brand? BTW which MN model did you buy?
  6. Hi Teenoyl, That's great! I am still waiting for the HDB letter which the inspector promised me... My contractor quoted $250 for repairing the spalling spots. Do share your repair cost when the bill comes. Cheers
  7. Hi there, Will be taking over my resale flat soon and found that the existing owner had replaced the old main door with the hdb approved fire resistance door. But the wooden door frame was not replaced and is in bad shape. Does anyone know of any contractor whom can do removal and re-installation of the hdb main wooden door frame? I will be keeping the existing door but will be changing its lock set. Thans
  8. Hi there, I am also facing the same issue as you. I wrote in to my town council and HDB dispatched an inspector to my resale flat, to be taking over next month, for a look last week. The inspector told me that there is a spalling ceiling repair package which HDB offer. The owner will foot 50% of the bill provided your MP endorses/ supports the request. He estimated my repairs will be $150 for spalling at 10-12 spots. Will have to wait for his letter before approaching my MP for his endorsement before HDB takes on the repair work. Will share with you once HDB gets back to me. Cheers
  9. Hi Doreamon, Stumbled across Jeffery's shop, btw his shop is at City Plaze, in Apr 09 and chatted him up for a quotation since I am looking towards renovating my resale flat soon. Seems a nice and sincere guy. Very prompt with his quotation. How is Acton Design's workmanship? How is his carpentry work (kitchen cabinet, feature wall etc)? I am also thinking of engaging him to do my reno.
  10. Hi flysummer, Can PM me the contacts of MIKI Curtain from JB? thanks.
