nobody asked you to throw away your existing mattress before seeing the actual goods. anyw u seem very adamant abt getting money over the fact that all the people involved have alr apologised to you. live and let live man...another 400+ more dollars can make u feel happier??

ya contractor experience can b real painful...my david case is quite unique...becos initially im not sure wat i wanna do w my aptm, stay personally or let my foreign in-laws stay...so i jus did bare minimal to refresh the 25yr old hdb...probably the budget was tight for him...so in the end i jus took one step back over the whole issue...i act consulted my lawyer fren and his advice is lawsuit or small claims which (1) david may not attend eventually (2) even with money order from the SCT, david may not honour...seriously in sg, consumers are very unprotected...its ironic that this is such a small country and yet we are so disregarded in so many areas of expenditure, jus thk utilities, petrol, public transport..

yeah overall i overpaid him abt 3-4k...as everytime he wanted to start something he wil ask for cash...in the end the delay was too much for me n i decided no pt flogging a dead horse..got another contractor to clear up and finish the job.. oh to add...i never got back the money..like i said and frens ard me advised take it as a lesson learnt.

haha i jus treat it as a learning process...this is my first home and even for my parents' reno, it was all smooth sailing and i never knew picking contractors cant be treated like picking products off a shelf..anyw david only has himself to blame, if he had properly stuck to his skills and ideas and be more truthful instead of finding excuses here and there, i thk he would make it good....but guess tats the biggest difference bet successful and lousy contractors...

yes i act engaged him almost 2 yrs back..would only say he is a case of poor mgmt over money..he has good reno ideas but too bad he never could fully realise it once he is given the job...looks like aft these time, he is stil like this.

if lose money can claim back from her? she is a ppty agent..vested interest big time..my view of cos is still uptrend but only for the long term and much more gradual increase...conservatively at least 5 yrs...and if one can foresee no cashflow issues aft investing for that tenure, then ppty is a good area to park some money..but for the borderline investors, it is def not recommended...i wld also say alot depends on the next GE...

hmm my gate is also from them...no such problems... from wat i know, the $188 is hollow adding $50 gets the full wrought iron gate...anyw the mgr in charge for me was ok...even help me fix my lock onto the gate, telling me what bracket to buy etc..

im using this combination for my room...seriously ceiling fan and aircon rocks! those standing fan jus cant achieve this effect. anyw my electricity consumption is 1kwh per hr...so every night its 8kwh to SP...

hi ya we plastered the whole place incl ceiling cos my 28yr old flat was in a horrible condition..no amount of painting and scrapping helped...i cant rem exactly how much but i thk it shd b abt 1k for the whole kitchen...i thk u can broadly use the $200-250 per wall surface guideline... if i can add, pls go for the plaster. ur whole house wil look different. like me, i requested for plaster aft nearing handover cos it stil looks horrible haha

hi my ikea toilet fittings also rust haah! however i was able to scrub off using normal 3M sponge...hope this helps..
