This is generic in fengshui whereby all direction is represent by an element and colour. However, all individual is different - a Kua number can be calculated based DOB where u will get to know a Kua number that represent you. Whereby 4 directions will be your favourable one and 4 directions are not. This is where one can enhance one's luck by enhancing the favourable directions and rectify/ minimize the usage of infavourable positions. mayb i am not too good in my explanation, tat's y sounds chiem! hee....

Right fengshui in each area would enable occupants to enjoy the benefits out of it. Ha... for example, the south sector of any house represents recognition & fame. Representing element is Fire. Colour - Red. So in this area, good to have more red. Be it the colour of the wall, furniture or accessories, it will benefit the occupants. 木生火,水灭火 which means wooden things in ths place is favourable too, however, items such as fish tanks, water feature or colour representing "water" is destuctive in this area. hee... i also半桶水

Our dining room falls into both the west & southwest sector of the house. Recommended colours - white, metallic, gold & yellow Five elements - small metal & earth Ideas: 1. Will either replace cabinets laminates with mirrors or install mirrors on one of the walls - reflections of dining table means double up the food - good fengshui 2. Will get the crystal lights for the southwest corner i.e. bet the window and cabinets - probably a pair 3. We plan to have at least 4 TVs at home - hee... need one at dining area too ... mmh ... (still thinking) 4. It will definitely be a round table - but will it make the space smaller? 5. The beam on the ceiling has to go too. Happy! At least i will beginning to put some ideas in place!

How Would You Decor With This Floor Plan?
mysweetlittlethings replied to kellogs's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat
Hi, as hubby is very particular with fengshui - I am being "forced" to read up fengshui books to make reno plans due to his busy worklife. so a bit sensitive on fengshui aspect.: read from the books that with room doors facing each other directly will cause conflicts bet the occupants of these rooms. one of the remedies is to change the orientation of the door if possible, if not to place plants along hallway or hang "noren" at door. is there a window by the end of the hallway? I might extend one of the rooms out to include the hallway just a personal preference -
Hi Charemme, I like your MBR wth a separate corner for TV watching! Luv it!

Hi newnyew, Thanks for the info! As I hardly have any chance to cook - both mothers preparing meals, my hubby 千交代万交代 must be a design which allows easy maintenance. ha

Hi, Heard from a fren too - prices are very reasonable. She advises us to look around for desirable models at larger stores such as *est *enki, then get them from the Mega store at Katong Mall. She has saved about $13K if I remembered correctly - for the appliances bought for her new place! I thought it is a good deal!

Hi Newnyew, Nice design - the mirrored tv console is sthg I have not seen b4! chio! May I check if it's easy to maintain your open concept kitchen? I might wan to hack my kitchen so that I can still monitor my boys activities when preparing meals in the future, but not too sure how practical it would be. having the island counter would be a dream comes true!

Hi huggsss, Welcome & congrats! Wow! $56K above COV - that's really high! We have paid $27K and thought it's already quite high in this current resale market. Both hubby and myself did not really source for ID/Contractor. After viewing one of their EM design on their website via the EM link and another project he has done for one of the forumers, we decided to meet up with the ID. It's all about "clickability" which one forumer stated regardless of who you are using. We met our ID and feel comfortable with him and so we have decided to work with him! No concrete plans yet, just view our unit with him last week. Can wait to meet him for our 1st introd! Happy searching! -
Tks! Prior that, a lot of homework to be done. As we have been staying with in laws for the past 4 years, it would be a totally diff lifestyle for us esp with 2 kids. Really needs some practical and realistic planning. And hopefully practical & realistic can also achieve a design to our liking - & I believe Dess can do it!
