  1. True... any late reply and yet not responding ID will be in my Black list forever, based on my years of experience with people, nor matter how you forgive them and grandmother advises, these ppl will never improve cause the attitude is forever in their blood, everytime you thought they have shown improvement, its just another lie....

  5. I am totally disappointed with the youngster now a day! When I was a trainee with age of 20, I did my work in detail, listening to my senior to learn! Apart from the other trainee I had, this guy who name as Gary is a 30+ young man from JB, with 4 kids, he was introduce to my company half a year ago and has some experience from his last company, he couldn't speak like a salesman so I've been trying my best to guide him along the way. He has "MIA" with reason for the last two times and I am willing to give 3 times in chance, The day before, I was telling him to think about what he want to do next cause he was very careless in his quotation doing, somehow, he disappeared again... For customer who has served by him before, I would sincerely hope you could contact me for anything left behind by him... apology
  6. Here is another best story I got: we are doing a approx. $10,000 cabinet for this Client, 50% was paid as deposit, signed contract term was 30% upon carpentry delivery and final 20% upon handover, seems fair right? When we start installation and the client swing by to check, and when I asked for 2nd payment, he said: money no problem" finish up the installation I will pay you all! Fine....customer always right, guess what, after 3 weeks and he keep pushing, either never bring cheque, or there are default hinge all kind of stories, petty my Sales coordinator running up & down and yet what we got are all disappointment. See, contractor also face the same problem as you, time to visit small claim...
  7. Any lesser than 3mm gap are consider dangerous, warranty will not be provided for tile popping up due to contraction expansion. There's a way to fill the gaps with epoxy to replace cement grout, follow polishing on homogenous surface, but the cost of this polishing is as good as laying a new marble floor, and yet the homogenous surface may de-gloss by 20%.
  8. Feel Free to Visit our website www.designerhouse.com.sg while I when through numerous of ID company website, I realised that their project reference are mostly 3D-make, reason behind are simply: 1. Project never happened 2. Not able to take picture on the real one. 3. Can't afford to pay for photographing. For what I think, a ID film should show the real picture of the created work, it shown how satisfied are your client for allowing you to return for photography, a ID film should has its photographing skill somehow so to keep its project as future portfolios. Just my two cents
  9. If I don't pay $$$$ then I will not be allowed to post here haha

  12. Finding a good responsive contractor is not difficult, finding a contractor that is able to match your budget is not difficult, in fact, choosing a contractor is much headache then the above two cause you will never know what will be next after you have confirmed contract with them. So, it's best to find someone who are trustable.
  13. A Good ID and responsible contractor has to be very pro-active, creative, knowledgeable, flexible, able to accommodate to client requirement, it is better to be good talker, able to sell its product, able to free-hand draw, able to handle 2D & 3D drawing, has to be good temperament, Punctual, Good Planner, On schedule. Lacked of any item above will not be able to survive in this line
  14. Like a bite by the dog haha
  15. Recently I've gone through a few ID's quotation with my customer whom they obtained from and yet they were quite confusing by the numbers, end up they could only be confused by the total figure. This are the few point that I could advise for your price checking: 1. Do Not just compare the total amount, look more into the detail. 2. Compare apple to apple: means, after you have obtained quotations, find the one which is most detail, Copy them in an EXCEL file and send them to all the ID's again to ask them to fill in the blank, the Right Apple may appear strangely. 3. When they stated: Supply labour & materials to lay homogenous tiles- means only labour & sand/cement, not included tiles, so if they verbally tell you its including Tile supply, ask them to indicate in the quotation, and the calculated square area too, and also the tiles price. 4. check the per foot run cost for the carpentry work, Do not base on final amount you seen, cause the size can be adjusted but PFR basic can never run! Hope the above helps, or if you are still confusing by the Quotations, can see me for further advise
