  1. 550 and above are all the same machine, diff by the accessories only. I'm using 550 and with the lighthouses bundled, it's able to clean individual sections properly. It's good if you just started to plan out your furnitures. If your house already stuck with many stuff, it's quite hard to maximize its potential $700, i doubt it's so cheap for 560 locally. Anyway, I got mine from ebay for less than $450. Just need a transformers to run it. on it 24/7 and it will come out and vacuum itself once a day, based on the schedule. I dun need my dyson anymore hehe....you'll be surprised it's actually much better than magic clean! I never seen so much dust, especially the fine dust picked up by both my dyson and magic clean b4, but with Roomba, you're able to get much cleaner floor is your carpet the heavy type? if it's not the heavy type then cannot lar.
  2. the 5th generation of iRobot Roomba is much better, even cleaner than magic clean. Has been using it for almost 1 week. No more sticky floor! I got a 550 from ebay.
  3. I bought a 550 eventually http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?...topnav=&s=1 Paid around the same price as advertised but through ebay. It's even cleaner than magic clean! Now I just schedule it to run everyday b4 I come back. So the moment I step into my new house, wow.....clean clean floor! I just need to use my dyson probably once every 2-3 weeks for the top of the laminate skirting and maybe very little unreachable areas by the Roomba it's able to "climb" to my kitchen too. My sticky floor problem is finally resolved!
  4. actually I just recalled all these term as I used to import some very high end graphic cards for mass order. FOB = free on board, meaning the price you paid to reach the ship. CIF means the total cost to ship all the way into Singapore. But to my surprise, ICA has such a ridiculous assumption on the CIF value. OK lor, you want to eat my money, I will give you some "special" to make you hungry....lol!
  5. 1.Vacuum better than my dyson, quieter too. 2.My friend said it will take up about 0.15kwh per day(<$0.05) if you run it once a day, turn it on 24/7. 3.furniture and house layout will decide if if would get stuck, so furniture planning is important if you have a lot of furnitures and stuff lying around. 4.Spare parts are not available easily locally, but can be purchased online easily. as for demo, you can check them out from youtube. If my supplier side is confirmed, you can drop by my house to have a look.
  6. i think vpost is using slightly different way of calculation. ICA shows 24.5% additional as CIF. Vpost could be using some other internal method and only show you what A(1+(1+B)*2%) kind of stupid stuff.....d@mn chem not transparent at all! nevertheless, I never got charged for GST even my total purchases is almost $400.
  7. those who are keen in Roomba 550 and above, I may have a lobang that comes with local 240v power supply. Price will be $479 but warranty is direct from iRobot. This already save you min $15-20 for the transformers and also the hassle to go through all the online purchases etc. I am not sure the exact model but min you will get a 550. I will post more info when my supplier confirmed everything, stocks could be available this weekend can PM me if you're keen. Collection at Shenton Way SGX Tower/Redhill MRT..
  8. ebay (depends on your luck) + comgateway via HSBC (with first 1kg waived)
  9. < $430 in total for a 550 which is much better than 560 in terms of accessories. 550 should be identical to 570 in terms of faceplate. in fact all 550 and above models are the same, the only difference is the accessories bundled.
  10. what hardwarezone? what makes you think that way? anyway, you can always put smart price and skip the GST.
  11. wah, so cham one ah? why need wife to approve?
  12. $2K for that dressing table set......more ex than your bed i supposed.....but well, not many gals are into this type though.....
  13. hopefully it's as lasting as what Romie mentioned hee..... their 20% off promotion just over. Not sure if they would have such promotion anytime soon.....
  14. NiVlek, if you're watching mostly on SCV and DVDs, be prepared to feel disappointed....PY700 is also not a good choice due to its mat surface. Unless you can't stand tiny reflection from the newer glossy screens (Panasonic, Samsung, Pioneer etc). If possible, try to ask for demo between LCD and Plasma with non-HD stuff. I dun think there are people so hardcore everyday watch HD only. The best combi is Full HD Plasma at the moment (for 50" and above) and HD-ready Plasma (for 42" and below).
  15. one of the best LCD TV (then.....) must be good price the worth it lar. Not sure if the local model has the 1080p scaler built in, can't remember the technology name. Well, LCD can never beat Plasma, be it SD or HD.....
  16. we also just confirmed a TV console and bedframe from Cottage Craft. burnt $4K how much did you pay for your dressing table?
  17. me staying @ one of the Redhill blocks Opp the MRT station. Ask you guys ah, do you feel that our area is very dusty? I almost fainted when I run my Roomba 2nd time within 24hr.....the amount of dust it picked up is crazy...... my friend staying @ Pasir Ris told me he didn't even need to sweep the floor with windows open big big for 1 whole week....... updated list: Queenstown - Ah Keong - Chip - Queenster - index - cherlyn6913 - genx - davincey - johnnyxda - furla - EvianRain - snowball - mas17 - SnOOpy - dreamgirl Redhill - xiang - redtail - cutebao - aly - hi-4 - spot - pink-ice - titank - Chamia - Kace - Fi fi - remixer - Relacker - shmj - tingshen Tanglin Halt - newbie - titank (Part Time at Buona Vista) Holland - banzai - Chipee - Jefel - taichizi - Vorcheva - singababa (18A) Boon Tiong - paikiapeng - irenep - babystarlet - slaveoftrade - ahber79 - reismione Jln Membina (opp Tiong Bahru Plz) -hasibee -squashy
  18. actually we went down to cottage craft again to source for bed frame and TV console.... to my surprise, their price is relatively cheaper compared to laura ashley. Shops like Eco Link can go drink milk menz...... now aiming at the bedframe which is around $2K+ and the marble top TV console that cost $2K.....
  19. shouldn't be a problem. the only limit is up to your imagination
  20. dig this thread for fun. within 2 years time, you can see how much progress we have seen on robot cleaner. now with just a few hundreds, you can buy robot with much better functionalities.
  21. no problem vpost is very ex, my freight from US to SG is only USD22 for comgateway.
  22. Well, I dun have time to set up the roomba right now, so if club101 needs it and want to save some $$$ compared to what he/she can buy, I can let go mine I have stated the price liao. You can counter offer via PM, "decent" is very subjective lor.... I dun need to sell though, just that it will be lying there for another 1-2 weeks only idling lol!
  23. haha, you want or not, I sell you at $650 !! but you gotta self collect from me @ Shenton way/Redhill it is a Roomba 550, black color instead of silver faceplate, same specs except it comes with free batteries for the lighthouses and extra 3 filters Brand new but opened, never used. Coz I can wait for another week, if you are keen I can let go mine for you first
