well, just an update... this months bill was ok... it was based on the meter reading... will monitor my situation for another two months then see how it goes! -
specially for the wedding... any idea where to go to find someone to translate my design into a physical soft toy for the wedding purpose? any help would be great!

it is good that you have a lot of people to help out in your renovation one word of caution though... if it is too cheap, ensure that you are getting the materials you want you are talking about > 50 feet run of carpentry here.... 4k works out to be less than $80 pfr... you get my mean? the type of wood, the brand of laminates... etc you gotta make it all clear in the quote
-
well, this is getting interesting... getting done the things you did for your budget is no easy feat! you coordinating the different portion to different contractors is it?
-
1. easily $6-8k for labour and material, not inclusive of the floor tiles... 2. L-boxes are about $10 pfr... so do a measurement, looking at your living and dining, from the door way to the window and the window to the store room, roughly about 10m liow == 33feet leh... 3. same costing as above... --> kitchen cabinets range from $100-180 pfr... based on your diagram and the floor plan, you are looking at about 8m==27 feet... top and bottom approximately >50 feet for easy calculation... 50 feet x $110 is already $5500 liow leh --> hood hob installation is about $20-30... but can bargain for free 4. wardrobe pricing is about $180-250 pfr... looking at your measurement... easily 8 feet each... considering they are not built in, means more material used (laminates) so you are looking at the high end of the range... 2 x 8ft x $250 = $4000 changing of door direction will require some hacking and plastering work... replacement of door frame etc etc... all also charged individually... easily another $3-500 5. shower screen is glass or acrylic? looking at the above 4 items, already more than 15k liow you seriously need to revise your budget or your wants vs needs visit my blog... it may be useful to your planning

with the budget you quoted, I am assuming you are not doing any carpentry for the rest of the home except for the kitchen. what kind of top you looking at? solid or natural stone or postform? also, your tiles, does it include skirting? how bout lighting and electrical works? have you included them in your 15k as well? how bout fixtures like switches, lights, bells, shifting of telephone points, electrical points.... etc etc... all these are individual costing that can add up how bout painting? is it inclusive in the budget as well? hmm... looking at the floor size and the kitchen layout, 15k a bit the mission impossible leh
-
the first question to ask before making any recommendation... what is your usage like? eg... MBR heavy, rest of the rooms occassional or some other combination? mainly day or nite usage? how bout the size of the rooms? does your MBR have a WIW seperating the bed area from the toilet area ... etc etc how bout the facing of your rooms? is it west facing? does it get the morning afternoon sun? Curtains? you have to give a more detailed description of your unit to let people have a better mental picture of your home before a recommendation can be made this is important in the recommendation, as you would want to maximize the power for each compressor for the non-invertor models

what you are refering to is solid plywood... which is a thicker plywood of about 1 inch thick and solid inside... no hollow portion throughout the wood what tyler is refering to is, his ID/contractor is giving him SOLID TIMBER PLYWOOD... there is no such thing on the market... correct me if i am wrong
-
timber is timber... plywood is plywood... where got such thing as solid timber plywood? timber is a solid piece of wood, such that when you do a cross section of the wood, all you see is one solid piece... sort of like you cut is straight down from the three plywood is a structural material made of layers of wood glued together, usually with the grains of adjoining layers at right angles to each other. In other words... a material made up of thin layers of wood glued together. so where to find SOLID plywood? more like plywood with veneer finish to look like timber is it? the costing for both is totally different leh

still looking for photographer for AD any good recommend?

painting for a 5 room will range around $1k - $1.3k... depending on whether you require a lot of plastering work for your walls. cost for the above will largely depend on the following: 1) hacking of bathroom tiles... are you doing it or intending to overlay? 2) the price of the tiles you intend to choose... homo? ceremic? slate? 3) chemical wash usually is done to remove cement stains from the tiles... dun think that would be useful for your grouting 4) vanity in the bathroom will also depend on whether you are going for a natural stone or solid surface? Built-in sink? 5) Folding doors can cost anywhere from $200 to $800 depending on the type of door you are getting... glass? plastic? aluminium framed? etc etc... the other alternative to folding doors is the sliding door... or the tradditional door where you open either inwards or outwards... go IMM to check out the selections they have there... then you will get a better idea of what is available for your budget 6) for your wardrobe doors, are they casement or sliding? if you are just changing the laminates, it should set you back a couple of hundred dollars... your contractor should be able to do the job for you... and if you are good at bargaining, you can even get him to do it for you at the cost of the materials !! 7) do a search on the forum... many owners has done their home with parquet... depending on the amount of parquet to polish, the cost differs from home to home Looking at the amount of work you are requiring, based on a reasonable requirements, $5k -$6k is a rough estimate

yep... lynzi mentioned in her first post that the material is limited... that is why the thread to solicit for more sources
-
i see, then postform is the way to go... but must remind you, maintenance is key here if you dun want warpage or wood damage to your kitchen top
-
it is usually from $399 upwards... depending on what you buy... fabric or PVC or leather. I think Nova, Aero furnishing and the furniture shop at Rochor, above NTUC also carries some models. OM carries the higher end models, you may want to go take a look Harvey Norman also has one or two if I am not wrong. Sofa bed models are very limited... so you have to work hard to find the one you like
-
They do... I got one from them sitting in one of my bedrooms. Got it as a gift from my uncle. They have a variety of models to choose from.
