i went to courts sleep clinic and tried all sorts of mattress. wasted one whole day there cos i lie on the bed for like 5 mins. i feel that memory foam mattress is super warm. i think it does trap heat somehow and my back feels the warm when i lie on it, so i suppose you got a memory foam one. it was very comfy excpt for the warm parrt. you can put a thick kind of pattress pad on top. i suppose it will reduce abit? JMHO=)

i know why!! when my hse under reno, my stainless steel item got rust too. cos when the acid wash ppl came to wash in the night (rushing job), they cant really see and i think accidentally splash acid onto it. so it became brownish after that. my contractor sent someone down though to wipe with one kind of thing leh. Then it was ok. maybe u wan to check with ur ID?

Hi all renotalk forumers, I just finished my reno for my 5room reno for 1month. Decided to write this article to express my gratitude to my contractor and at the same time sharing my wonderful experience for my renovation journey. First of all, I am thankful I found a good agent which really does all her work without fail. From viewing to offer and to 1st appt so on and sofore, she did not failed me once. Dont know whether is it appropiate to post her number here since it is a reno forum. Do Pm me her number if you guys need! After that, we began sourcing for IDs. but the prices were atrocious!!! some are really cheap but I heard a lot of bad comments so didnt go ahead. Decided to choose a contractor who did my mum and sis house then. She is Lina from Home Sweet Home. Anyway, hubby wasnt impressed with her company initially as she is running a office from home. but after hubby saw her works and saw some comments from forum, we decided on her after dicussing. Let me summarize the whole process cos my hand is getting tired from typing=) - Quotation was a little slow cos i need to hurry her before i get it. - After signing, she does update me on the dates to choose tiles, get all things which are supposed to be done - When the date draws nearer and tiles were not finalize yet, she brought so many samples for me like 10pm in the night cos I will only be free by then. For this, I really appreciate her help - Responsive enough, Even if she is in a meeting or busy, she will sms me in case she miss my call. - SUPER FRANK. she taught me lots of points in renovation. E.g. got her to bring me to buy lightings. She said the electrician have a shop, but heard from previous customers that the things are v expensive, and of cos if she refer me to any shops outside, she will have a small gain. she got me to go myself instead. - A little bit of hiccups on the way but everything was solved. - shorten the HO date by 3 days and i really v paiseh. her workers basically work for 3 days OT. but still manage to move in. Thank God. Ok. I would like to emphasize on the after-sales service. it was fantastic. Her hubby, Amos is doing the tiling and wetworks himself. and i suppose he is a handyman la. He did alot of 'extra works' like drilling of holes, install a few things for me free. And yesterday, which is one month from the reno, while washing my hand at the basin, my floor was sudd flooded. realising it was coming out from the floor trap, decided to ring Lina up. Without second thoughts, she said she will reach in an hours time, I suppose she stayed nearby and it was like 9+pm in the night. Amos and her reached and found out that it was due to chokage. Amos then put his hand iinto the floor trap and dig out so many hairs!!! was so **** embarrased. the worst thing is Amos hand bleed so badly that I really feel so sorry. All thanks to my habit of sweeping all the dropped hair to the floor trap. they said that we cant do that as it might get choked and getting somebody to fix it will also cost 50-100. I gave them a small amount to let them see a doctor for his hand in case there is any inflammation but they rejected. Until now I still feel v bad about it and decided to share my story to all fellow forumers. DONT SWEEP THE HAIR TO YOUR FLOOR TRAP. LOL. Anyway, you can contact her at 93299934 if you want to have a quote from her. and last point, try not to get electrician from her cos it is really horrible! so many wrong things being done and take so many trips to finish up.

has been such a long time since i update. cos i havent been to the house to see the actual progress. but luckily my contractor send me MMS to keep me in progress of the reno. my kitchen, 2 toilets and living room are halfway done with tiling. My estimated HO should be 21-22nd April. Contractor promised to provide a move-in condition. she is not confident of carpentry works to be done. can anyone here suggest will it be alright if i were to move in without carpentry works? will it be dusty? I chose blue tinted powder coated frame for my windows. add on 3M scorch film. big hole in pocket. shall update tomorrow the pics!

Yeah. definitely. You pay for what you get. End of the day, i just want someone who is responsive enough to clear my doubts and to do my job smoothly. human error do happens and we as owners should ask for reasonable things as well. I think Lina is lucky enough to get me as customers!! Hahaha. Anyway, i can see that she tried her best in every single way. I even receive email and sms from her like 1-2am midnight and next day 9am she is at site!! hardworking enough i guess. I ask her how come she dont want to hire staffs to help her. but she still feels that overlooking all the projects herself will be a better choice. She told me something which i feel that it is very logical. By taking up 10 projects you will earn a alot but in the long run you are still losing cause you can't cope with so many projects and customers lose confidence in you. I hope she wont run away like other popular contractors though. but i believe my sixth sense that she wont la. *fingers crossed.

Thanks a million!!!!!

I just realize having a tblog can start from 1st appt. Nevertheless, let me share my story with you all. Choosing a good flat was a real difficult job. With my Hubby and I working almost 7 days a week, we are exhausted by it. Luckily I have a super steady agent who did every single thing for me. Lessen down my worries. Finally we chose a 5room corner mid floor unit. Cov was 30k and the condition is alright but I still wish to hack away everything and re-do. Yay!!! After choosing, we thought that finally itsover. But now, comes the Reno part. We tried looking for few contractors and Id. But didn't like e idea of ID cos they talk to me like they aregoing to stay inside. I prefer some who give suggestionto my ideas rather than I giving suggestion to theirs. Finally I settled down with Lina from home sweet home. Not the lowest quote but still reasonable. Since she did my mum and Sis place, I somehow have much confidence in her so as what my hubb say, paying little more and getting good service is worth it. I pray hard. Today is the official commencement date. Just to let you guys know, I still deciding on MBR toilet tiles despite chasing from contractor. Hahaha. Anyway, going to give her an ans tmr morning cuz she can deliver it on wed. My contractor at first keep suggest me to find direct if I have contacts. She say 1 or2 is alright she still can coordinate for me. But hubby reject the idea. Too troublesome. My hubb and me are busy ppl, so I think definitely will delay the Reno work. We haven buy anything till now!! Lina is helpful enough to keep on bringing samples late in night for us to choose, cuz we are only free in late night and the tiles shop are already closed. So far so good, I still haven't check on the progress today. Too tired to go. Just hope that Lina wunt disappoint me. Can someone teach me to upload photos here? I want to upload my floor plan. Thanks in advance. Wish everyone have a smooth reno journey!!

Looking For An Id/Contractor
tracy replied to Mery's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
i agree. so choose the average priced and someone who you are comfortable with. end of the day, home owners only want somebody who is responsible enough to settle problems when problems arises. put it this way, they earn money of cox they need to do what they are supposed to do ma. JMHO
