Bi-fold door and PD door is different, you can google for the picture. Where do you intend to install the door? Bi-fold door will give sound after some time of using, only suitable for toilet but don't do it in your master bedroom, coz if at night someone using the toilet it'll be very noisy. PD door I heard is prone to problem.

To me cove lighting is just for decorative purpose, how many will really on the lights when no guest coming your house? to me it is redundant and not useful at all. My tenanted house have cove lights in the living room (done by previous owner) and I just put downlights in my own house when I do my reno.

is about this price range. If you can get $1200 for the whole house (including ceiling) tat will be very cheap already ( i assume your house is 4 room or bigger). Make sure they supply the paint that you want. Ya, my contractor also told me no limit on the paint, this is because they know no one would really paint each wall different colours. For my house only my kid's room is painted 2 colours, the rest all in white, the ceiling is another white, so total I've use 4 colours.

ha, if you lock it, definitely will. In Singapore, seldom has thief came into the house from window grille, if happened, the owner probably didn't lock the grille. For the pass years, I've never locked my windows grille, I don't think any thief will want to come up to my house. For lower levels, better lock the grille, coz although singapore is very safe, burglary did happen before.

you can rent a temporary space like those Big Orange or Storehub to store your items, while you can stay at your relative house temporary or move to a rented room temporary? or you can stay inside a room first while renovating the other rooms. Are you going to hack the tiles as well? If you're hacking the tiles probably all moved out will be better if not shd be ok to stay in a room. During renovation the whole house can be very dusty and messy

Actually I faced the same problem as you last time, so I got the carpenter to quote me and compare the prices, and chose the cheaper one. Do note that solid surface is prompt to scratches, hard to maintain.

haha, is really a mess man! You will have to decide what kind of design do you want first, not only the colour. If your TV console and sofa are those modern design, definitely not the chinese furniture. You mentioned got a red carpet, so what I imagine is quite retro, but your dining is Javanese design? Not match. Corrective action: got to abandon one or 2, but need to see your sofa and console design, and the dining table. Maybe you can post a picture of them?

I do not recommend JB ID although I got the JB carpenter to do my carpentry works. The price is cheaper like what I've shared on my blog, but they do have some bad habits which many cannot tolerate. I got no problem with my carpenter because he's my close friends, but when i intro him to my other friends, he got very bad comments like delay work, late during meeting etc. Besides, my office was renovated by JB ID, I find their workmanship not good and very hard to get them rectify the problems afterwards. I think they are also not familiar with our SG legislation and structure of building. Example our toilet keep leaking, the JTC said is our renovator fault but the JB ID don't agree, so end up nobody want to accept responsibility, and we got to pay others to repair it. If you want to save money, you can research the design you like and just get a contractor to do, like mine was designed by myself after copy and paste from magazine and online resources, I just get a main contractor to handle all the works for me.

My contractor will get the painter for me, I spent $1200 to re-paint my whole house 1152sqft

If you've budget, it'll be better to add in, grille shd be around $200 window can be expensive. If no budget, just hang those sliding blind like those we use in bathroom lo, anyway backyard nobody go and see

ha, I tot nowadays this is the trend? no handle, my kitchen was without handle, i don't find it difficult to open, look nicer. In fact, all my drawers got no handle, not only the kitchen.
