  5. Some google may help. I dun mean to back fire you but i hope to provide correct information to whoever reading this forumn. Cambridge Audio - Owned by Audio Partner Ship Quad Electroacoustic - Owned by Verity Group link If you think Cambridge Audio is low-end then that is your preference and it is not wrong. To me, it is a good Brand and i can't affort it. So each person have their individual preference. That is our taste may be for high end recommandation but some may have budget limitation. Lastly lets not go out of topic and get back to system recommandation. We are in recommandation and not condemnation. Have a present day ahead. Cheers.
  6. I am not sound expert. Just my opinion and suggestion. I think you are newbie like me. As most of the experts recomend, "trust your ears". Just buy a system within your budget and sound god to you. In the end, the system is going to be install in your home and i believe it should be difficult for you to compare between systems. My question to you is, can you differenciate the sound from each system without looking at it? Do you know which amp, which speaker? or player? Since you are looking at HT, may i know are you buying Original disc? if not, no need to spend so much on HT. Good luck and hope you find your new toy
  7. Cambridge Audio is NOT owned by Creative. Cambride Soundworks is owned by Creative. Funny that you never heard of Cambridge Audio when you talking about expensive cables.........

  10. Hi User123, received ur pm. Basically mine and urs is different. U are using the thin socket where I am using the box type. For thin one the contractor have to cut the glass. In my case, the glass is full piece and stick onto the wall. The next day electrician come and "paste" the socket on the glass. So u won't see any gap. I was warned by my ID during the time I decide. It require high accuracy and workmanship to cut the glass and there might have some gap. That is why I choose the box type.

  15. QUOTE (tamiajack @ Jan 15 2011, 01:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>1st time met William yesterday, we felt he is really experience and professional. He did show us some of his previous projects' pictures and did some scatches design base on our requirement, waiting for his quotation now, hope he can give us good price cause we are very tight in budget. Beside, he said will bring us to view his project's site in order to take a look at d workmanship by next week. hehheh! Ask him to bring you to my house la.....lol......
  16. Hi Tamiajack, Sorry just saw your message. My reno already finish some time ago and i have already moved in. No time to come in forum see see so never see your message. Overall i am happy with the renovation. No one is perfect, there were some items done need to be redo after my inspection. Anyway, there was no question asked or any arguement when i request them to change it. Think normally ID/Contractor will try to bull**** you or try to convince you not to re-do anything. Would like to thanks william for the well co-ordination as well. I dun have time to take good pic, so i just use my iphone to upload to my flickr. just to share the main items. the rest like wardrobe, shower screen all not shown. Living room Shoe cabinet + Bomb shelter Kitchen If you need any other advice, pls PM so that i can receive email and reply you soon. Think i will not log in Renotalk so often liao....hehehe
  17. To me, the only diff is the downlight itself since the tubes are the same. So basically i am paying more for the Brand and Design of the downlight. If you are alright with the modified downlight then go ahead. What they modified is just the holder for the tubes only. Since nothing else is require as everything is inside the tube. Above comment is just base on my understanding only.
  18. thanks Doc for the info. Btw lightings.com.sg charge $18 for delivery
  19. okok...thanks for the invitation......
  20. Another suggestion for cove light. You can use LED strips. With that you no need to worry about the distance to mount the lights. Cost wise i think it will be slightly higher than T5. But you can change the color of lights with just a remote control.
  21. Yup, thanks thanks. So bought your amp already? U want to play play with my amp? (not recommanded for your usage but just play with it lor) Link to my amp http://www.dared.us/products_dv6c.php If u want sms or call me lor.
  22. FBG306 is even bigger than 305. Size of 305 is 160x160 and 306 is 180x180 (in mm). U got to be careful which one you choose if you have TV feature wall at one side. I only have L box in my living room and TV feature wall at one side. Currently my light have to be offset a bit from center in order not to cover by the feature wall. To me i like the reflective coating on 305 and the glass is not fully frosted, so will be brighter. Since i only install 8 pcs on my L box, i want to get most out from the lights. In normal case, i think i wont ON all 8pcs, just 4 pcs when i stay there. The lights do not have the big ballast like normal ones. The electronic ballast is built inside the bulb. Check with your ID. BTW, lightings.com.sg accept exchange, but you need to bring it yourself.
  23. I bougt 8pcs of FBG305 (2x14w) $45 per pcs and 2pcs of FBG304(1x14w) $33 per pcs. Price are quoted with bulbs. Click below link to see other models from Lightings.com.sg http://www.lightings.com.sg/downlights.html I think i made a good choice ba. I see the quality of Philips its indeed better than normal type. with additional of $200 compare to normal one, i think its worth it. cos once this is fix and it will be use for very long time.
  24. I neighbour.....I got my curtain from MGL. slightly under 1K. can look for Ben. I also posted a thread in Treelodge forum.
