Hdb Abolishes Sibling Scheme
marshmallow replied to neubie's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
yup, there is nothing wrong with them getting the best from the system, they're just being smart and what the forummers are saying here is just to point out that for some countries, there is no difference whether to give up their home citizenship or not. no bad feelings here... and, while many pple are too quick to point the blame to PR, we have to realise that the fault doesn't lie in PR, it lies in those know who came out with the policies........ *ahem* -

hey, saw your reply on reglxt blog but decided to ask you here how is your laminated door like? is it fire rated? or does your unit require fire rated main door? cos i remember when i saw those laminated doors at shops, they are usually used as room doors, not main doors.... no grilles meaning...? -

thanks for the info... is the low heating capacity a restriction by hdb? anywhere else sells gas heater in SG? yup agree that the fear of leakage is unfounded... nowadays gas heater is made much more safer than 20 yrs ago. -

so long as you are 2nd generation PR/citizen, you have to serve NS unless you give up SG PR/citizenship altogether. oh... maybe that was old policy. my frens (one guy, one gal) were asked to choose at 18 yrs old. you know la, SG immigration policy changes all the time one fren even better. they let them hold until 21 yrs old (after NS) to give the final answer. he served NS, then gave up SG citizenship and keep Malaysian citizenship -

ah... found the thread.... gimz63251073 gave plenty of advice here: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=34881 btw in my hubby's parents' home, you can actually set the exact temperature and the water will come out at the temperature. dunno whether those sold in SG are like that but wait... May, your area got city gas or not?? -
Hdb Abolishes Sibling Scheme
marshmallow replied to neubie's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
the only way for single PR to buy HDB is through the sibling scheme, which HDB has already shut the doors now. from what i observe, many of the PR who have concern in giving up their own citizenship are malaysians. for the rest (e.g. PRC and Indians), it's not a big price to pay: cos even if they give up their original citizenship, there is not much difference even if they were to return to their home country later. on PR + Citizen give birth in Singapore, the children is eligible for both citizenship until they turn 18, they will have to make a decision on which one to keep. -

if they ban PR from buying, then many of the PR can just convert to citizen after 2 years and fight with you for BTO/any new HDB flats/CPF grant/HDB loan. is that what we want too? -
this is not rust... actually stainless steel piping originally will have stains like this. if you want shiny surface, you need to do some chemical washing before that. this is what i learn in my industry....

wah... that was bad... but i think it's really unlucky for your case... my hubby was using gas heater all his life until he came to SG... in fact in HK, gas heater is more common than electric heater~ could be due to installation? where you install the gas heater? -
actually i have one question... HDB rules actually stated plastering of ceiling is not allowed, but i see many pple doing it...? btw, how old is your flat? i'd say the small bumps shouldn't be there, but it would be difficult to expect a very smooth surface cos the original HDB workmanship really sucks

BunBun, your memory is really good... is this the one? http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...st&p=406242 newnyew's photos all cannot see liao... so can't tell if this is the same cheesecake btw, i have 2 questions: 1) do you all use electric mixer to beat the cream cheese? or use hand to beat with a spatula or something? 2) i read somewhere that they use food processor to crush digestive biscuit for the base. is that how you crush it also?

well he is not much younger than you PLUS he doesn't exercise regularly! i think that's the key point hahahaha mounting on top of TV can "cheat" and have shorter distance... all my frens in HK got to mount the sensor highest possible cos the living room is simply too small when i test the machine at parents' home, i gotta put the sensor high up, tilt it, and i myself stood at the corridor in order for the sensor to find me......
