  1. hahahahahaha me too but take less time to read compared to many other t-blogs cos there are less words
  2. haha idea of big is quite subjective... i found HDB kitchen super huge... maybe becos i came from a place where kitchens are typically the size of a normal HDB toilet~ okie back to the topic your kitchen is quite squarish so i think it's still okie to fit an island, but probably a longish and not very big one... then the next question will be if the island is small, is it still functional enough to have one? do you have any proposed layout plan? sorry if you have already posted and i missed it...
  3. at first glance i thought the stall was there since 501 years back.... surely have to stay a long time to know it hahahahahaha Holland Blk 44's market? shall ask my hubby to try cos he works around that area... hee hee
  4. Hiyah i thought you made them... hahaha... so adorable can't bear to eat them... and the Doraemon is so 3-D! would be really impressed if it's home-made Did you see this in HK's 7-11 too?? going back next week....
  5. haha... my hubby has always been very proud of the fact that we don't have a single piece of customized furniture except kitchen cabinet. His reason is "everyone else has built-in wardrobe/cabinets, we are not like them" interesting way to think, ya? hmmmm although i'd love to have a customized mirror cabinet to fit into my weird-shaped toilet though. hmmmm
  6. ya i mean this one... and that's your green tiles? LOL btw, how to add the chocolate into the dough? hubby likes chocolate... haha
  7. looks great! did you use the recipe in that blog? or it's a different recipe? just btw, i remember you have a doraemon cookie cutter...? where did you get it from?
  8. this is so true.... my fren told me before too~ no wonder my parents only changed to bottom freezer type after all of us have grown up
  9. ya... i remember another case that the house's instant heaters all spoilt becos the person in the shop claimed that instant heaters can be used with rain shower
  10. i'm not sure about Question 1, but for your Question 2, what neubie tried to say above is that all motors, inverter or not, efficiency will reduce over time. So the salesperson's claim on "inverter efficiency won't change over the years" is not quite a sound one btw, for your reading: http://products.howstuffworks.com/bottom-f...uying-guide.htm
  11. well sorry to say i don't trust salesperson fully hahahaha... there were so many instances when they say everything can but actually cannot one....
  12. yea... and only halfway through my own reno then i started reading the HDB rules and oh man... there are so many things that i dunno cannot do... since you still have some time, better read now~
  13. good... then i can recycle the containers~ oh... haha i see... i have very little dough only so not really tired, in fact quite fun but the dough squeeze out from the nozzle is so small as compared to the one from the baking blog... have to squeeze many rounds before i can get a cookie of decent size~ not so nice looking lorz. let me upload the pictures when i go home... for the cookies, it tasted okie but look wise is not really presentable it's really good to have a hubby who still says everything taste good though it looks terrible... hahahahaha btw, you bought any piping bags? seems quite ex leh.... i just used ziplock bag this time (cost-saving method taught by the CC baking instructor ) looking forward to seeing your yummy cookies heehee~
  14. cute t-blog that you have... congrats! actually old 4NG flats are also 90~92 sqm only. there are plenty of them in Clementi and Jurong... but somehow they just seem bigger than new flats of same size - maybe it's the layout~ btw, though my flat is old 4A 105 sqm, my MBR is even smaller than yours... hope this can at least be a consolation to you
  15. oh what i mean is... most pple will find 30 Amp supply more than enough for their usage, so in HDB's eyes, getting the lift upgraded (for the old folks/for pple with babies and children/for general accessibility) is more important than satisfying individual need for higher electrical supply~ (not many pple are not so particular about electrical stuff like us ) btw, for old flats, HDB permit is required for installing new 15 Amp power point. better make this known to your electrician from the beginning. agree with you... if possible, maybe try to get the permit earlier... in case HDB rejects, still can change to other models.
  16. haha for me it's the other way round... although engineering sense told me that bottom freezer should be good cos cold air sinks, i found it more difficult to retrieve heavy, frozen food stuff from bottom freezer, as compared to lighter veggies/fruits from bottom compartment...maybe becos i'm short also So in the end, still got the top freezer type fridge maybe in the past, insulation technology wasn't so good to insulate a bottom freezer from the heat generated by compressor? also the compressed gas needs to cool down rite, so maybe they were making use of the pipe length from bottom to top to allow the gas to cool down....?
  17. sigh, cos didn't have the container and thought my food container will do the job... sigh dun have much moisture in the recipe cos no eggs... maybe the only moisture is the vanilla essence LOL those containers for new yr goodies can use? got a few of them right now.....
  18. i had no choice but to keep the door frames cos i'm keeping the old marble floor. if you are going to hack everything anyway, might as well just replace the door frames cos just about few hundred bucks more i think? cos if the old door frames already repainted many times, the paint will be very uneven... and if you want to paint over nicely, will need to remove the old paint first then repaint... this step is additional and usually not factored into contractor's painting quotation, so they may charge you extra for the work etc etc.... maybe in the end, just easier to replace the frame if you can
  19. no it's power is 2800W, more than enough nia... just that it is using 13 Amp socket. i'm using a Taiyo portable induction cooker (those you use for steamboat), i've never gone past medium power cos the high power is too strong for me to handle... LOL http://www.taiyoasia.com.sg/index.aspx?uc=...tail&ID=310 i think the electricity supply is not so easy to upgrade like lift? so they only do it for MUP (main upgrading program). also it's just something good to have la... not as "necessary" as compared to lift
  20. no i'm not talking behind your back.... i'm openly talking about you here hahahaha in Penang? no wonder you never come here and support la
  21. ya lor my house same area as yours, you can read my t-blog about my frustration... in the end i am using those portable induction. also good la can bring out to dining room for steamboat anytime when i did aircon shopping, all shops told me for old HDB, can only use Mitsubishi if going for system 4, you still have some hope ya man, the salesperson is SUPER irresponsible! mislead customer big time!! if you really wanna be sure, just go for the Taiyo 2 zone induction cooker, use 13 Amp socket sure no problem. 20/30 yrs back, HDB focus was very different... just aiming to get everyone from kampong to high-rise flat la... they're not thinking about aesthetic nor luxury like aircon and stuff....
  22. oh yours is bigger than mine... mine is NN-GS597M, 25L with no turntable.... http://www.panasonic.com.sg/wps/portal/hom...eam/nngs597mypq i supposed you can only bake one tray of cookie at one time? i find it a bit troublesome.... btw, i baked some cookies in the weekend and kept in box. next day all the cookies become very soft and soggy.... would re-heating them in oven helps?
  23. haha yea lor, just leave all the bricks patterns behind, then can anyhow draw something to make it look like street graffiti... sounds quite cool also~
  24. same here... though i don't plan to have kids very soon, i still did all the window grilles now, cos i can't imagine all the dust and trouble if i were to do it in future, with all my furniture and stuff already moved in i kept all my 26 yrs old door frame... those metal one btw, i have seen those LED sensor lights in shops before, about the same price or cheaper than the ebay one... Philips also got one but more ex i think.
