  1. 15May signature says "daikin 3 + 1" ? anyway is aircon trunking different for system vs system 3+1? which is worse?
  2. Hi Gals mama Happen to chance upon your blog, and must say that your marble flooring looks good! http://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/ranges.php...Tile&type=g see this link - black/white/grey - classic look you are just 1 week + 2 days to yr second appt, and mine is on 24/6!
  3. If first drawer is for cutlery, what is the height of the other two drawers below? i wanted to put crockery below the cutlery one, if two drawers, like too small to put much, if 1 drawer, seems quite high??
  4. wow, nice place Joswwl! Didn't know balloting for flats got ready renovated ones. Congrats for the beautiful place!
  5. Ha ha ha, el nino No lah, still not transformed yet lei. Have not even collected my keys, prob will be end June, from the way thiings are heading now. Ya, agree with you, finally have psychoed myself not to get the free standing type. Main reason being that these seem to be very rare these days, or are rather costly, so if really break down *touch wood*, may have problem replacing. So better go with the flow lah .. was initially eyeing the brandt pyro one, but warned about the high heat "burning" the cabinet and wiring behind, so also a bit unsure now ... also spotted electrolux, which seemed to be quite highly recommended, but electrolux does not have catalytic, so it's either still pyro or must do manual cleaning. What features does your brandt come with?
  6. Hi Grace! Was trying to pm you some weeks back but yr inbox is full! I'm also thinking of a drinking system. Which one did you install? Are there many brands to choose from? Not familiar in this area, so far only met someone from Multi-Pure. Wonder if their system is good? Will be awaiting yr pix!
  7. Ah Dun sorry still very lost about all these piping. You mean you have to pay for all the gas pipes or water pipes or what? Citigas only install gas pipes right? You mean if use gas heater and dryer, need to have gas pipe leading to both toilets and the dryer? How about if I want to have hot water at kitchen sink, then another gas pipe and another hot water pipe to kitchen sink? Can these be concealed?
  8. hi Supersimon can check what is 45deg? I thought base can only be 90deg or rounded? how to make 45deg? me blur blur?
  9. today did more recee. went down to blum to find out more. Saw their brochure/price list previously and was quite confused by the amount of variations there are in what I thought was such a straight forward thing - drawer and cabinets! Finally now I understood why everyone says that blum is expensive. But actually the hinges are ok, it's the drawer and runners system that costs alot, and of course the best is servos, but priciest too! will prob go for carpentry drawers but just add blum runners with blumotion to cut cost. those of you who have had blum, can i check what kinds of things you put in the 30kg / 50kg? For the full extension at 500mm, the difference in price between the 30kg and 50kg is about $11, so I am tempted to just do all 50kg load. Anyone of you used very wide drawers? Like 700 to 900mm? Just loved the organising system they have, but can't afford! btw, read somewhere that the pricelist had not been available for a while? If you need that, go down and grab one before they run out again!
  10. Hi thanks, Insane. but seriously, these drawing are not hard to draw, just start trying and very soon you can draw even nicer than these "kiddy' and unproportional ones. You got floor plan already right, so can start sketching away ... I starte my first draft when I booked my flat 2+ years ago, can you imagine how kiasu I can be?
  11. ha ha, that will be scary man! ok, mind set about that then - more table space rather than cabinet space.
  12. yup, still 99% as of now. Will announce once I sign ... must be very careful before signing, recently signed a document that gave me nightmare!
  13. hi though it may not be what you had hoped for, don't let this damper your spirit. Bedroom we only use at night, and just you and hubby, so not a major traffic flow problem. So look on the bright side and enjoy the rest of yr reno anyway, just to share with you, in our current flat, all girls sleep with us in the same room. So that's a queen size and a single bed, leaving us about 38cm of walking space, barely enough to open the wardrobe door. At first, we did not like it, but got used to it very quickly
  14. hmm.. good point ... i was just thinking to convert the small worktop space between the oven and dish draining tray to a full height storage, because the space is so small for a proper working space, but if convert to storage, can create alot of storage. what do you think?
  15. ya, absolutely know what u mean. actually not that i am a heavy cooker, just do simple meals for my family, but to me, foyer is just a link to walk from door to living room, so don't need so big. better have a more functional kitchen iin case got mood, can cook big time and invite relatives over. actually now headache whether i should have more worktop space or more storage space? Despite the extension, still like not enough. Maybe I have been spoilt, have such a BIG kitchen in my current flat! So sad
  16. no la, sammy jie don't dare to challenge you lei! but it's true, more people visit, chat chat, make blog more interesting and fun, besides the learning and info sharing so everyone - all are welcome hor
  17. hi hi sorry for interruption - is mega discount generally the better one - since they can match price of everjoint and GAB, which I find to be most attractive, yet give warranty like those big stores? btw how do they do the price matching? I just tell them i found the same model in xx shop and they match? or they need some kind of "evidence"?
  18. Hi Joseng, Flameday, 4D striker, Insane thank you for your inputs. Now got better understanding. You know, I was just sharing with a friend that RT is a much better resource than asking HDB themselves! wow, my t-blog 2 pages already! ha ha So nice to see it "growing" if not like I talking to myself.
  19. Hi Joseng What do we look out for? Does the HDB give a list? And from your experinece, how long does this rectification take? So coincidental, I think I just asked this same question in another blog - this recitification and reno cannot start tog?
  20. oh, thanks in advance. Is this list from HDB? btw can i check what is the procedures like? 1. collect keys 2. check defects? eg : ... ... 3. ??? before start reno? this defect checking and reno cannot go hand in hand? I thought everyone do tog save time ?
  21. So when you collecting keys? Anyway, you came to the right place - I got lots of inspiration, ideas, recommendations, what to do and not etc etc from the helpful people here at RT. so I am sure you will too! Enjoy your upcoming reno!
  22. oh goody goody, I am seeing all the fernvale reno blogs re-surfacing. Good reference for my reno too! How's your reno going, Prof?
  23. Hi KM You are so well-versed in such oven issues. Actually I posted this in my reno blog, but thought maybe I should bring the question up here also? So angry with myself for missing out the electrolux warehouse sale over the weekend! So went down to harvey today, and saw 3 models. Can experienced folks please advice: All 3 have same capacity at 52litre. (sorry maybe a bit confused, but I am comparing the models 53000, 31001 and 35000 (pyro, not in the picture but same features as 31001) All Germany made. All 3 layers glass. 3 models are EOB 53000 * 8 cooking functions (see attached list), but compared with other two, this one has 2 extra (convection with ring heat for 3-level baking which works like a top/bottom/fan, pizza setting with bottom heat and fan). *manual cleaning EOB 31001 * has top + bottom + fan. (this is supposed to allow 2 layers baking, while above model allows 3 layers baking) * no pizza, but has bottom heat only, which I thought is similar. * manual cleaning EOB 35000 * same features are EOB 31001, except this one has pyrolytic function. ie self cleaning by burning deposits into ashes at 500C, so just need to clean ashes after the self cleaning cycle. I was actually eyeing the 53000 but thought the 35000 is good because of the self cleaning function. But being self cleaning, it definitely means more electricity consumption(for 35000) because need to let it self clean at 500C for about 2 hours each cycle. So should I pay more for that or just make do with cleaning manually? Also to do the pyro cleaning, temp is high at 500C. I am also worried if that temp will damage the cabinets in the long term. So maybe it does not justify taking so much risks just bc i am lazy to clean manually? Of course another option is to get the 35000 pyro self cleaning model, but don't use the pyro function unless i do major grilling, but sounds a bit stupid to pay more but don't use the feature right? Price aside, do you have any advice for me before i commit? * Do you think the pizza function is important? Or is the bottom heat the same as one specifically stated as pizza function? * Similarly is top/bottom/fan the same as convention plus ring heat element? Since the purpose is multi level baking right? Headache headache thank you, thank you
  24. Hi Karen I haven't collectd my keys too, but should be soon, I hope. Will def post here on any progress. Bookmark this page ! You got ID/contractor already?
  25. Hi Flameday You are Fernvale Vista too? You already renovating? Ya lor, I was absolutely "disgusted" when I saw the kitchen on site. So miserable, think i will suffocate working in there ! Was thankful my layout is such I can extend kitchen, those who has their entrance door next to next to kitchen can't do that. So heng ah No chef lah, ha ha, still trying hard to be one
