Good Workmanship Kitchen Carpenters Or Id To Recommend?
booksntoys replied to Stress's topic in Carpentry Works
U can call my contractor. The workmanship of his carpenter is good. Jeffrey Fong 98568316 According to the carpenter of my kitchen cabinets (not Jeffrey), it costs them $100/pair of Blum soft-closing even when they buy direct. He said tht there's similar type but made in Taiwan, less expensive, but has the Blum stamp on it, works like Blum too. -
Not sure if this is too late... i like this nice old uncle who painted my house (today's last day of touch-up). Whenever i pointed the places to touch up & clean up, he'll do so nicely w/o saying anything or showing face. Very soft spoken & nice. His price was reasonable and lower than my contractor's. Using top-grade Nippon paint.

Miele Or Dyson Vacuum Cleaner?
booksntoys replied to preciousmoments's topic in Electronics & Electricals
I've been using Dyson every alternate days for the past 6 months. Love it! 2 thumbs up -
The no-one-use-before-no-complains was the reason SBH (tile co.) gave for the easily chipped & uneven 30x60 white wall tiles @ $2.40/pc. Our floor tiles are 60x60 @ $4/pc.
-
I really doubt they'll rectify... hack & re-do? I inspected the current rented unit that I'm now staying in Simei - shd be 1st owner till now, super old-fashion type flooring & stuff. But all the tiles in the living/dining/rooms super smooth lei! Certain parts of the kitchen tiles also not even lah, but not as obvious as my new house's. Will do what you've suggested & try to post the pics - tried once but not successful Renovation really really so 烦!

HAHA! Hey, your black & white tiles were our 1st choice for our toilets!! From SBH @ Changi rite? But we've changed it to something less trendy now cos I imagined all the little cave-ins collecting dust & I've to clean the walls more often
-
We bought from quite a 'big' shop wor - SBH @ Changi. My contractor said we'll see again after the washing. Now the chipped parts on the wall are covered by switch & socket & the washing machine. Lucky still can hide. White tiles so even more obvious.
-
We no need to even take off our shoes! can see & can feel with my hands - tiles up down side by side. Quite bad lor
-
HAHAHA! That's so funny! Thks for the 'script' - I may need to tell that to my 3 kids!!

I only chanced upon this topic today when there was a new posting. Yeah, will call Everjoint to ask if I can change model. So you're saying Panasonic's good? How 'bt Toshiba? Gosh...really dunno what to get
-
Fencer & everyone here, need some advice. When the kitchen wall tiles are done, we saw tat some parts were uneven & even chipped. At first, we pointed it out to my contractor & tiler. Their explanation was - uneven tiles; newest batch, never tested & no complaints b4 cos we were the first buyers. Ok, we accepted that. Today, all the floor covering was removed and to my horror, so many parts of the floor tiles were uneven! Is this a common problem? Or is it the tiler's poor workmanship? We chose the $4/pc tile, so it's supposed to be "better" rite? Anyone of u encountered this problem? Thks!

I just bought Hitachi W/M SF80 from Everjoint at AMK for $433 I'd wanted to buy LG's WFT7000 from Gain City at $299, but the salespersons at Everjoint said that Korean products not as good as Japanese products, thus they recommended Toshiba or Hitachi. Actually I've been using LG's w/machine for years and it's so easy to use. Now I read all these negative reports 'bt Hitachi's only after buying it ....

Here's my contractor's pricing for some of your items: lightpoint $35 13 Ax2 point $50 13 Ax1 point $40 TV point $35 Tel point $35 Doorbell point $35 heater point $80 install light $8 PUB testing $250

we're paying $2100 (re-wiring package) for our 5-room HDB flat. If you're keen, PM me for my contractor's contact.
-
Talk 'bt contractor! Sigh sigh big time We only asked quotes from 2 contractors - one super ex, the other one's pricing quite below average or average. So we chose the later. Now sort of regret not reading up ppls' blog on RT, e.g., like I would have chose Jaskal? Cos in the near final end of our reno, our contractor's organisation skill (in co-ordinating all the different groups of workers to do the reno) quite screw-up. Plus I think he sub out the jobs, hence our reno dragged on for so long with days of doing-nothing in between Do any of you encounter such problems? Fencer, nope, I can't even upload photos here, how to start blog?

from the look of the id, I think i'm the odd one out - all da boh!

Hey, you're right! But I'm not sure if it'll be difficult to maintain & may be slippery since it's in the kitchen? I have not come across any kitchen with shiny tiles wor -
Hi, welcome! Simei is a small estate but from what I know, there already 5 of us here in RT! Correct me if i'm wrong

Our living & dining room floor tiles are whitest of the whites. While the kitchen floor tiles are dark olive green. On first sight from entrance, it'll be so pretty to see the entire floor from dining to kitchen all white & shiny lor, so that's my only regret. But then again, we purposely chose dark tiles for kitchen floor cos it's easier to maintain. So practicality wins again -

I think your bathroom tiles design are nicer than mine, esp. the MBR one - very trendy. We took a long long time to choose - it was so difficult! Plus we've got budget constrain so in the end, after the 2nd visit, we chose one of the safest (but also quite boring) design -

Yeah, i know what u mean. We've a budget, a long list. But when go to the shop, that's it. If no control - $$$ just fly out. When we were at Everjoint, we knew what we wanted already, brand & model & price all confirmed. But the salesperson so tok gong...after listening to him, we changed all the brands & of cos, prices all increased. -

Is it opposite a school? I rem my dad was their old customer too! But no one mentioned it in Renotalk so I've forgotten 'bt it. We've bought all our electrical appliances - fridge, washer, even KDK fans - all from Everjoint. We're upgraders so have got TV alrdy. Bought hood/hob & other bathroom/kitchen stuff from Poh Seng. Air-con from Gain City. I'm too lazy to start a blog lah, so if you're keen & u dun mind, I can post my pics in your blog! We're not into fanciful designer stuff designs cos no budget, plus I'm more practical - I'm the House Manager cum Maid. So everything must be easy to clean, easy to upkeep. The less things/shelves/glass for me to wipe, the better!
