Anyone ever complain or email town council that your neighbours had placed all sorts of their belongings eg laundry, bicycle, shoe cabinet etc along their narrow corridor??? what will the town council do or not do???

I'm a new resale flat owner and so far still waiting for my renovation to end by U-Home Interior. They had start the renovation on 21 May and most probably will end on mind July. Had voice my displeasure on some areas of renovation to my ID Raymond and he got it redo to my instructions. So far the renovation is up to my expectation and looking forward to seeing the finished product. I had actually went to quite a few IDs and some of them I can say is cmi. I went to a popular interior design company with wifey and was shocked to hear 1 of their ID commenting to another customer "auntie, u can't expect your fren do her renovation for $20k 5 years ago and u will be able to do the renovation for the same price 5 years later wat." I was thinking what the heck.....is this the way their ID talk to customer? If I pay for your service, the least I expect is basic courtesy. I then decided to leave with wifey without a quotation though they are highly recommended for their best price and got lots of artistes recommending the ID company. I then went to IMM with wifey and actually ask for quotation from almost all the shops on the 3rd floor there. Some upon hearing I was just browsing around and wanna know how much it costs to overhaul my flat, they give me a kind of face when hear I only have a budget of $30k. Some tell me will e-mail me their quotation but the quotation never ever came. I then went to U-home and was attended by Raymond. He answered our questions honestly. How I know? Cos before that I had went to the other shops so can roughly guage whether the ID is just pulling a fast one. He even go to the extent of explaining his designs and drawing out a rough one for me n wifey to view on the spot. He also tell me how the other IDs could have so low cost as they left out hidden cost such as haulage etc from their quotation. After 2hours of sitting there and asking questions, I told Raymond that I still wanna consider as his quote to me is kinda high $36/- and out of my budget. I was expecting a disappointed and pissed off face as I had wasted 2hours of his time. But suprise, he tell me no problem and to take my time to choose which shop I want and get back to him if I decided to get him. He then also pass me some of the paint brochure to bring home and other renovation magazines to research on. Wifey and I then feel quite good about his services and decided to sign up with U-home 1 week later. Though U-home is not the cheapest and also not the most expensive of ID companies, I felt that at least the ID put me at ease and could be easily contacted when I called him (I called him almost every alternate days to ask questions on renovation) =)

I bought the Yale lock and handle set. GO home then I realised that the handle is a bit short compared to the old one..... SO far not yet install cos ID told me to install later when reno going to finish. Can check with u guys whether the lock and handle set is of a standard sizing which can be used for the HDB fireproof wooden door??? Thanks in advance.

If in the comment which u post on the website did not have the company's name, there's nothing much they can do about this. In the confirmation SMS, which they claimed that the sms had include the terms that payment to be made before job commenced, at the most the company can sue u for breach of agreement. If it did not state clearly in the sms the payment to be made before job, again they got no case against u. They can argue whatever they want but it's their words against your words in court. The prosecution side will have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that u r at fault in this kind of case. Dun worry too much.

I got put off by Casa Italy at Paya Lebar. Their salesperson is so dishonest. Thought I'm a newbie sourcing around for sofa. Tell me PVC sofa quality is better than PU and Leatherbond. Still say give me discount from $1500 to $1150 since they just newly open. Wifey and I then think very weird since we read that PVC is the lowest grade. The sofa furthermore is kinda small 210cm in length still more than $1k. My parents house sofa is PVC same length bought for $500+ only. Luckily never buy there.

Usually, if renovate kitchen, if they hack away your kitchen wall tiles, the water pipes and gas pipes might have to go too. Things u need to factor into your kitchen for additional costs:- 1) Hood and stove 2) Kitchen sink and tap 3) Base for cabinet, fridge, washing machine 4) water and gas pipes 5) installation charges for the above mentioned items 6) charges to clear the debris and haulage All these will be the additional and hidden costs that some packages did not include. After you signed then they will tell you need to add this and that. Btw, package price inclusive of GST?

Jurong point near to NTUC fairprice extra, there's a shop selling lots of remote controls eg for Tv, aircon etc. I bought my carrier remote control for $70. Kinda ex but at least still able to find the remote control. Not much place got sell.

Projector clock u can get oregon scientific. I got 1 that is bright enough to project the timing during daytime. Nighttime is much more obvious. Looks cool too.

I bought all my bathroom items and kitchen sink from Hoe Kee IMM. The pricing that the salesman give me is the cheapest so far compared to other shops in Jln Besar area and IMM. Yes, I even went to the extent to compare prices cos other guys from Renotalk told me Jln Besar had some of the cheapest shop. But then take note Hoe Kee staff at IMM got some who give the stuck up look. I bought from the salesman who give me valuable advice when I step into the shop the 1st time but never bought anything from him and left. In the end went back and manage to see him so buy from him lor.

I just got my house and it's currently under renovation. My neighbour living next to my unit is a PR from India. The family likes to hang their clothings on the corridor railings and worst of all, the washed clothings still stink!!! I wonder how am I going to hint to them not to hang their clothings along the corridor.....

I'm also looking for a curtain maker for my 5-rm flat. I was being quoted $700+ only night curtain for Balcony (full height), MBR & 1 small window which is near to air con ledge (full height), the other 2 bedrooms (half height). The material that I saw in the shop is quite good ie block out 90% sunlight. I will be using tracks for all the rooms. I felt that no point having day curtains since me n wife will be working. Any advice whether the quotation given is reasonable??? Thanks.

It's kinda useless for ex-owners to change their address. Cos they simply need to tear away their printed address (sticker) to reveal the old address and just borrow from loansharks. Dunno what ICA will come up with in future to combat this problem. They should have realise by now that there are Fxxxxx using this method to borrow from loansharks.
