  1. Never.. unless you are crazy about them. I have one, end up not filling it at all because it takes forever to fill, the amount of water wasted is also a big issue. End up its collecting dirt in my place.
  2. ok thanks dude! Will give it a shot tonight.
  3. Yup ive had mine for a year or so now, love it, very sturdy and unlike others it has a wood finish below and great hydralics. Unfortunately it couldnt fit into my new place so i put it up for sale in the garage sale section. Ordered myself a split base one and i hate it.. very poorly made and the hydralics are a *(&*(&(^ to lift up and down. but unfortunately i can't keep my old bed.. so putting it up for sale at 400..
  4. Thanks for all the help guys!! Wonder if ita gonna be hard to install. Not exactly handyman but i can handle enough to drill walls . Shouldnt be that hard no?
  5. Thanks! Very Much appreciated! Btw, do you have any industrial park hardware shop to reccomend?

  9. Hi All, I have a used Kitchen mixer that i would like to get rid of. Name your price, pity to throw it away so check if anyone here wants it. Token sum will do or a simple gesture/gift in exchange. Do note whilst condition is pretty good, item is used so might still have a little cleaning to do. Interested contact me at 9653 six one zero zero
  10. When the movers came over this weekend, they realised that my queen sized bade board (divan supporting mattress) of my storage bed can't fit into the stairwell. Anyone has any reccomendations or anyone knows anyone who can custom make that board? TIA
  11. I guess everyone thought my queries were too minor to help but i'll do my part for this forum. I managed to get my jobs done and on a shoestring budget as well! 1) Chemical Wash Tiles on ground level 2) Repaint House interior 3) Replace Toilet Bowls/Fittings 4) Replace gate with Bi-Fold Electric Gate items 1 and 2 were done by a painter i would highly reccomend. A & J Painting services (do a google and you can find their number) The boss, Alvin whilst appearing abit aloof was actually very experienced and nice. They aren't exactly the cheapest but i strongly believe you pay peanuts you get monkey. Whilst trying to stay unpolitical on my post, the main reason why i hired him was that his workers are ALL Singaporean and I am doing my part to keep businesses who hire locals alive! items 3 was done at hoe kee but on hindsight theres a shop right infront of Grandlink plaza at geylang which has higher pricetags but end up giving massive discounts, so much so that they were cheaper than hoe kee! item 4 still under deliberation..
  12. Actually place has been reno-ed by last owner 2-3 years ago.. I just bought the place
  13. Hi guys, I'm collecting the keys to my new place at the end of feb and the temporary place i have stashed my barang is also ending its lease by then. As my place is fully done up, i intend only to do some minor works for it, appreciate if anyone can reccomend me contacts/lobangs for the following.. am on a tight budget so would not wish to engage a contractor, besides im not sure if anyone wants to undertake such a tiny job: 1) Chemical Wash Tiles on ground level 2) Repaint House interior 3) Replace Toilet Bowls/Fittings 4) Replace gate with Bi-Fold Electric Gate Can anyone advise me on the above mentioned? Thanks in Advance!!

  15. I confirmed with HDB previously when they first changed the ruling from "1year can sell, 3year can sublet whole unit" to "3year sell/sublet" that i would not be affected, i.e. i can sell my unit after 1year and sublet after 3 years. My flat is non subsidised but under loan. I do not mind the new 10% cash nor 70% loan just yet, what i really want to know are my options at this point in time. So does this mean that i can still buy a private now albeit with the new cash rulings?
  16. I know i buy HDB under old rule, but i want to buy pte now. so the Pte bit under the new rule or old rule? super confusing. Err, my time is now what, i can buy pte now, no need to wait till MOP according to the old ruling. Just that i have to stay in HDB but i can BUY a Pte
  17. Hi Guys, Need some advice here, i bought my unsubsidized flat in January (so siamed all the new rulings about 5yr MOP *heng ah* ), MOP in 3 years But i was also intending to buy a pte property next year, so do i now have to wait for 3 years under this new ruling? I want to rent out the pte and stay in my 3room flat as per old ruling. Can this still happen? Or must i complete my 3 year MOP before i can even buy a private? If so, it sounds abit wierd to me, because after my MOP of 3 years (or in the case of new owners, 5 years), i can rent out my flat AND buy a new private property, why would i bother staying in my flat? I would rent it out for better rental yields, this will be a nice snowball effect, in 5 years HDB prices would shoot up again due to this regulations? Or am i reading it wrongly?
  18. Hi David, Well the town council called me on several occasions offering to send someone down to instruct them to clear it. One even sent an officer down to check the situation out and called me back saying that my neighbour had no right to keep a pond outside his place as he did not purchase the corridor space. So he said he will have to issue them a warning letter, but i pleaded with them not to, at least until i speak to them about the bicycles. I was afraid the neighbour would think that i complained against them without having some decency to speak to them first. So the town council guy relented and said that if they refused to move the bicycles, call them and they will take action immediately.. heh, now i have a back up plan. So the other day i spoke to them and they claimed that they would be moving the bicycles away as they needed it for their workers (runs a factory canteen). A week has passed and nothing done yet, my plants and bench have arrived and are sitting in my living room for the moment, am giving them some grace time before i speak to them again. If they still don't relent, i will set the TC on them!
  19. Does anyone have a contact for acid washing? My contractor wants to charge me 250 for acid wash, im thinking of dropping it from his contract and getting someone 100-150 bucks to do it. It's only a very small area (Kitchen + toilets) as the rest of my house is laminate flooring. Can anyone advise?
  20. I also have this issue, they chain their bicycles to the pipe outside my corridor window. Very unsightly so i called TC and fired a letter, they called me up immediately and said they will send someone down to get them to clear it. But i thought it would be better for me to speak to them directly. Wouldnt want bad blood with my neighbours, but i have yet to muster up the courage to tell them. Soon, soon.. once my reno is over i will walk over and tell them nicely, if they dont then i get the TC involved. When i mentioned FIRE HAZARD all alarm bells ring with the TC, so they are very prompt to take action. But he also has alot of things like fish ponds etc outside his corner unit that doesnt bother me, so i dont want the TC to come clear it all and create bad blood between us. Sometimes its best to just speak to them nicely, you'd be surprised how they will 'bo pian' and heed. If they refuse to heed my words then i will get TC down and they will have to clear EVERYTHING including their silly fish pond. Update you guys soon on how it goes, maybe next week.
  21. If you have no intention of tearing down your false ceiling, downlights are a nice touch to the room. I used ceiling lights because downlights tend to be more energy consuming and harsh. I prefer a cozy bedroom, but it really depends on what ur deisgn concept is about!
