Wow.. your clause no.3 is something I never notice before.. I check through several of my other contractor's quote, usually will write: "3rd payment of 40% after 80% job completed" or "3rd payment of 40% after 90% job completed". Thanks for highlighting everyone to warn others who are not yet sign with them.

Hihi, I seriously pity your situation. Anyway you are not the only current owner I know who encountered the same situation as you. But no choice, you can refer to few posts above me, his ex-supporters are still widely advertising for him and im sure there will be more "victims". Just curious, why you so fast make 90% payment to him, thought the payment is progressively ? Secondly why you let him start work without his basic design comes out ? Im quite sure he will delay your drawings till the last minute and end of the day you have no choice but to accept whatever he design.. Hope more "recent" owner will step up to give their review of Id Note, we are not here to flame him. I know that Henry do read the forum and hope he wake up his idea and start to do your reno soon. Renovation cost itself is a big amount and we pay for it and deserve a good job from them. A good contractor deserve our praise & recommendation and a lousy contractor must quickly be warn to others, that's the purpose of the renotalk forum.

Haha marshmallow, okay maybe im not clear enough. Firstly my reno is many months away, he have more than enough time to do planning and preparation. Secondly he rejected me after I met him at his office in less than 3 days thru email. Lastly, he can reject me straight away 1.5 months ago if he is busy, and not kept me waiting for his quotations. (I'm getting my keys in June and he is definitely aware of it, it means from now till June he cannot take up any work as he is "busy with current workload" as stated in his email). I have high hopes for him initially due to the advertise from you guys in forum, reasonable quote, good reliable contractor.. bla.. bla... that kept me waiting for him. I don't know if there is anyone similar like me who experience the same scenario, good for you if you like his work and attitude but that might be in the past. What I have mention in this 2 posts is nothing but the truth happened just weeks ago. Anyway I have move on, he don't deserve my precious time anymore, so good luck to anyone who is waiting quotation from him.. haha =P

hihi just want to share my unpleasant experience with them. I have requested quote from IDnote at end January 2011 but henry asked me to contact him after CNY around mid february as he was quite busy. I accepted and waited till mid feb and called him up again, finally my drawings was sent to him through email. He took 1 whole freaking month to reply me with the quotations through email. Immediately after receiving the quotation in March, I arranged a meeting up at his office for further discussions on my quotes. LESS than 3 days after meeting him, he rejected taking up my job through email as he claimed he is overload with current projects. My house is only ready in may-june which is 2-3 months away so this excuse is totally bull****.. I might be a difficult customer to him asking for specific request for reno but I think it is definitely normal as it is my future home~! Worst still, when I met him at the office, he was totally unawared what I want for my house as everthing is handle by his lady colleague. Just to warn all forum people, he is obviously choosing his customers which can give him the easiest work and allows him to earn the most profit as he have many clients to choose from. He will easily reject to take up your house reno once he found a easier target. He is popular here in forum as I know there is someone here giving free advertising for him constantly. I have wasted 1.5 months due to his unprofessionalism, but it think it is a blessing in disguise.. I'm sure there are better contractors out there, if possible, give him a miss.. =)

Hihi, need to ask you few questions.. =) How much HDB charge you for the sand and cement screed ? secondly, which portion you mention have structural beam ? the kitchen wall ?? Do you have the picture for the hacking of the wall ? My contractor told me sometimes inside the bricks hav the wire mesh thats why charge higher which I don't agree with him.. I feel its just hollow block inside.. haha.. btw Im from jade spring too, hope you can help =) thanks thank~!!

Hi Kamal, I notice your drawings differ greatly from the actual plan. The kitchen windows are missing, the windows should be full length with no bay windows.. I also notice the kitchen have glass backsplash with new tiles done but I didnt see them inside your quotations. So your ID are providing all this to you for free ?? haha Anyway just a caution of reminder, there will be alot of hidden costs if you want to follow what the ID drawings which can easily exxceed 25k.. =)

haiz, hdb really rubbish leh.. the drawings never show any structural wall between the kitchen and living except the column beside which we will not be touching it. Want us to waste all this hard earn $$ to engage PE then will allow us to hack.. what the ****...

Hi Simon, think you should stop advertising for henry for time being.. You know why ? Cause I think he is overload and I have been waiting for his quotations for the past 3 weeks going to 1 month. Obviously they are unable to stand the workload and the new customers keep coming in calling for quotes. I have been emailing them and calling them but they only delay and delay the quotations. Guess you should slow down your free "advertising" for them abit and let them catchup with their work... you are not helping them actually.. get what i mean??

Yeah, just received quote from them... Add up the GST around $2.3k plus which is kindof ex... Can do alot of stuff with this amount of $$ =( Does all renovations ID firms have GST ? or just only the bigger firms will be affected..?

Actually if im not wrong, your kitchen wall is not load bearing wall which means its just a brick wall, wonder why hdb still need PE for it. Really a waste of consumer's $$...

HIhi, can check with you when you hack the bedroom and kitchen wall, do you need the PE certification which costs around $500+ ?? Cause my new hdb at yishun is almost same design as yours, I always wanted to hack the walls but the contractors & IDs I spoke to all say need the PE certification. Pls advise.. thanks thanks~!! =)

yeah, just got a unit at yishun exactly similar like yours. Its pathetic small, but the price are getting higher year by year... what to do, encourage us to give birth more babies but rooms all so small, want to hack expand the room also dun dare.. haha
