  1. Thanks adi, i got useful advice from RB earlier as well. I also got the email from Opennet regarding the installation of the trunking. Also asked Sochiro about his running of his trunking. It's just that its frustrating that my electrician keeps asking me to buy the cable without knowing much details himself. Just a few experiences with the opennet guys that refused to pull the cable for him. I wonder why.
  2. Oh, thats great! so u made no 90 degrees bend? what kind of bending did u do as mine definitely require some form of turns. Also, did you run the trunking initially in concealed ceiling? Btw, did u managed to go to Koda on a weekday?
  3. D Day +26 Aircon is done ip today and tomorrows gonna be the false ceiling guys coming over. But now i face a problem! I wanted to run trunking for the fibre optic cable to run for open net in the future as my opennet will only be installed in 2012. But my electrician advised me against it as he said he had a few cases of guys who did that and opennet installation guys refused to pull the cable through those trunking he has installed earlier. Headache!!
  4. How did it go with the fibre optic cable laying? i am intending to do the same but my electrician advise me against it.
  5. Part 2 High wire act for the trunking for my stair lights This is some of the work which i felt was not done nicely. The electrician said it will be patched up with silicon. Hopefully it will be nice.
  6. D day +25 Updates: Part 1 More pictures of the renovations. Slower than planned but i guess it's quite normal. Trunking and wires for my electrical works. Laying of the shower kerb. The completed shower kerb, Wc and pipings.
  7. Very very nice. Wat we call imba. Am gonna stop all my reno now and ask them to copy yours le.
  8. Coming coming. This fri i hope. I was away for a while. So i haven't been down to my place for a few days.
  9. Talk about haiz! I think the cost is just the pipes. nothing additional. probably a couple of hundreds? especially when u alter ur upstairs coz its ur kitchen downstaris. Not affecting anyone.
  10. D-DAY +17 Updates: All hacking has been completed, Kitchen tiles, both common toilets tiles has been laid. Still waiting for my master bedroom tiles to be cleared from customs. Plastering should be completed by today. All the existing electricity stuff has been pulled out and electric works should start on monday. I got more than 60 lighting points, which i think is bloody a lot and burning a big hole in my pocket. Also, the wooden table i liked alot has also been struck out because the width is simply too small at a mere 700. To make it 900 will cost an additional $600, so we are going for the full glass with extendable sides. One more boo boo!!! We wanted a big sofa set. So looking at our floor plan, after hacking the wall separating the balcony and the living area, we had live 5m worth of space to place our sofa, or so we thought. Thus, we bought modular sofas that will have the dimensions of 3700 x 2800. BUT, yesterday when i went to see my ID, he told me thats too big coz we might be sitting under the structural beam separating the living and balcony. Also, the alignment of living room will be a bit out because of our sofa. Anyway, we decided that its still bearable for us, so just taking it as a learning experience. CONSULT UR ID BEFORE BUY BIG ITEMS! Here are the pics except it should be in black and note white.
  11. Hi, i saw quite a few dark tables at KODA (i think). Its at defu lane. They have a website too. http://www.kodaonline.com/ Most of the prices there are definitely reasonably, just a matter of finding what u want. Their products are mostly meant for export and they fabricate a few pieces in their factory initially and those are usually for sale. And I mean SALE. Good luck.
  12. I think in the contractor term, its called tic tac dor. Agree with cleong that its nice n stealthy.
  13. I think anything outsourced will definitely be cheaper as the ID will need to take a cut from contractor too. Thats for my case at least. eg, my railing were quoted by ID at 7000, but i managed to source it at 4.3k. Just one example, but u must be willing to scour the web for info.
  14. I think it's better to state the type and cost of materials. ie type of tiles, cost of tiles. Dimensions of the tv console, so on and so forth.
  15. Ok. Will do. Thanks for the info. My id told me that he will ask the carpenter to build one for me if I cannot find it.
  16. Yes yes. test should be conducted!
  17. need LOT OF STUFF but money no enuff. You are right there! It takes up precious storag space so i have to built cabinets on other walls to have this in. i just changed the u-channel pipes to the hole where i wanted the wc to be, ie i switched the location of basin n wc, so i switched the two channels below at the lower level.
  18. Haha. No $$ for rain shower. already decided le.
  19. Bought my led down lights and strip leds. Also managed to get a deal on some shower mixers. As such, i am giving up the idea on rain shower as the mixers are pretty pretty decently priced.
