Haiya, i also missed him for my reno leh. I emailed him and tried to call him many times around nov-dec 2011. No respondse. That is why now i have a not so smooth reno beginning. Hahahahhaha.... The counter top space left to prepare food and place things is only about < 80cm.

Both came on different occasions. Both were told they need to go emergency room bc they had appendicitis! I am using alex for my flat. He doesnt charge deposit upon confirmation. He is friendly and straight forward. My new neighbours using thia federick guy who charges much cheaper than alex, but i like alex's professional attitude that i didnt think of switching to the cheaper contractor. But, i have a regret. Didnt purchase the powder coated grills until i saw one, it so nice... I called alex and he already had our silver alu grills ready for installation. Cant change, as it means alex has to create a new grill system for our exact measurement. Since we didnt pay deposit, we still can change but wont be nice. My hubby said we will install this one first. If my hubby doesnt like it. He will change the living room grills to powder coated white colour, and pays the extra cost to alex.

Interesting to read about your journey to find the right dining chairs. My hubby n i would need to do that soon, we need nice chairs for our dining. We saw the pickle and rail show room @ city square mall and first time tried the EM chairs, but decided against it as it is just too famous. Hate to follow trend. Went to ikea n did the butt test as well. Only one chair, wooden curvy white back rest, passed the test. $69 per chair. Might get one or two first.

1400rpm is too fast. Suggest you lower it to 800/850, it is enough. U can check the manual for more detailed instruction. I am using my own logic only. I understand the rpm is the amount of time the drum rotates per minute. 1400 rounds per minute is A-L-O-T. TOO FAST. That is why its noisy n vibrate. I guess you were a top load user so you were surprised at the amount of water it uses.. Me too. I even thought it was not able to clean my clothes! But, it can clean the clothes very well. That is why people sell n buy it. I was told a few hours ago that a front load of 8kg cam only wash 7kg of clothes, 1kg left is for water. And you seriously need to remember not to stuff it until full load. The drum needs space to flip the clothes, like Ayumi said.

--- Can definitely paint a laminated surface --- Source: internet / apartment therapy I've painted Ikea white laminate, cheifly the Billy Bookcases. It isn't difficult. These are instructions I typed for the ST Cure (week 6): Painting the Billy's isn't difficult...just time consuming and a bit painstaking. I actually have four more short bookcases in the living room I've been wanting to paint for ages, but it's really not going to get done this year. I used melamine paint in "cloud white." It just takes the glare out of the Ikea white. Melamine paint can be tinted any colour--except a medium to dark one. Apparently, if you try, you just get a "pale" version of your deep colour. (That's what happened when I painted the one in the dining room green.) 1) Scuff every surface to be painted with 100 grit sandpaper. (I use an angled sanding sponge--works quickly and well). 2) Cut in the corners with a foam brush and use a light hand. Apply the paint with a small (6") sponge roller. This is key. The paint must go on smoothly and evenly. 3) Be careful of drips on the sides of the shelves. I wasn't this time and I had to spend some time sanding it off so the shelves would fit. Even then, I had to use our Army Engineer mallett to get some in. Melamine is an oil based product, so wrap up your materials tightly in a plastic bag between coats. 1/2 dried bits of melamine causes no end of headaches.

We intend to get a ceramic sink, never thought of lab sink, though they r quite the same in appearance. hubby like a white sink so choices r limited.

--- hubby did these --- 1/ kitchen layout: 3d render is from a member here, his punggol spring kitchen has the same layout as us. So we use it To draw on top. Easy to understand. Note that our dining are is bigger than the one in the 3d render, Thus we are able to have a big squarish living room. Actually, our layput is quite simliar to Defilio's layout (yoshun jadespring) as well. 2/ master bedroom mood board: Will use light color for wardrobe (no longer pole system), platform and curtain to give an illusion of large space. 3/ study room mood board: Copy photos from member Reiki and a breezer and Interet plus Ikea. Recommened app for iphone: upad. Very User-friendly. Lots of function.

I think everyone walks into my flat from main door will immediately see the whole kitchen through the glass panel, according to our prefered design. My dining table will be right in front of the kitchen.

I have called the store office in UK directly yesterday afternoon, 9.30am uk time.
