  1. Granite darken after the water is absorbed into the stone is equal to hardwater stain. You can try apply granite sealer for waterproofing after you get the hardwater stain off. Btw, have you even try using white vinegar? If money no issue to you, you can consider changing your granite to quartz surface.
  2. yes, white vinegar commonly use in cooking.
  3. The promotion is all year round... in another word, no chance to see GSS price tag on their water ionizer products.
  4. The new wall will crack after a month or 2, happened to mine too, my designer friend told me so too, he left some silicon behind for me to patch up the crack and repaint with left over paint.
  5. Lucky is top mount, can change it if you really hate it.
  6. You can call police if they threaten or harass you and your family.
  7. Betty is seeing Dr Hsu and Dr June Tan for all her conditions at Animal Clinic at Telok Kurau Lorong L since puppy; her yearly vaccine are done there, her sterilization was done by Dr Hsu. She loves to bark (scold) all the vets and staffs whenever she visits them.
  8. Steroid cannot be given as a long term medication lah... can you share which vet does that? I will avoid that vet at all cost.
  9. Not so good news... went to vet for Betty's skin condition, received a steroid jab to stop the itchiness for 2 weeks, half an antibiotic tablet twice a day for 20 days, then twice a day for weekend only, also got steroid tablet and histamine tablet for emergency. her current food of 2 pork meat balls with broccoli, pumpkin and brown rice will finish on coming Saturday, with only slight improvement on her skin condition; going to put her on pure vegetarian diet for next 3 months to see result.
  10. What is the brand of your fridge? You can try contact their service center, i'm sure they sell the spare part for your model.
  11. mai everything also say cannot lah... google is seriously your best friend. http://www.howtocleanstuff.net/how-to-remove-stains-from-granite-countertops/#WaterStains
  12. Dont be sad... If you expect all Blum hardware (hinges, lift up systems, inner drawers, standard drawers, orga-line trays, servo-drive), then be prepare to pay more, a lot more if use automated servo-drive.
  13. The red col granite slates covering the exterior wall of Taka also same like yours; bake under hot sun for a day or 2, the water mark will disappear. Check with your contractor how you can waterproof your granite.
  14. Laminates for internal carcass does not equal good workmanship. Depend on the amount of carpentry works involve, $57K for a 5 room flat the profit margin already very thin, can afford to give $2K++ worth of freebies, so good deal i also want.
  15. Maybe different group of sub contractors. I have seen electrician that dont know how to lay LAN cable, they use another sub con to lay just the LAN cable and charge a mark up fee for each point.
  16. Electricity bill is getting higher every year, inverter in the long run can save on electricity bill. If you switch ON for 8-10 hours on weekday and almost 24 hours on weekend, best get the inverter model. Do you know which area the non-inverter waste electricity?
  17. Even after you switch OFF the main breaker, best test the naked wires with a test pen before touching it with your bare hand. If in doubt, get an electrician to change and pay him, dont wish your wife to loss a husband and dont wish your kids to loss a father.
  18. Ask your ID for Blum drawers, inner drawers and orga-line cutlery trays too. Go visit Blum at their Ubi showroom and judge by yourself. http://www.blum.com/sg/en/index.php
  19. the squarish effect is stainless steel strip embedded into the cement screed to aid in leveling, guideline and dividing the area for ease in maintenance. mop floor everyday? nope, once a week. a. that is a lot of hard work, polishing wont do, i think must sandpaper it finely but that may destroy the cloudy effect. you can try a small area to test the effect. b. nope if you just use the self leveling compound; unless you manually spread it before it is completely dry but that may destroy the self leveling. c. Paint a few coats of clear lacquer (like mine).
  20. 1 more con... if you cook a lot, your electricity bill will be sky high.
  21. Life is too short to run around trying to save a few dollars and ended up losing priceless time.
  22. reliable carpenter with good track record does not come cheap.
  23. Like this? Manually spread by hand for the dirty industrial effect, experienced grey feet every day for first few years and must tolerate many many cracks some as wide as those 3mm on stressful part of the floor, after a few years when all the cracks have settled, can proceed to repair the big cracks by filling them with cement mixed with hardener, then when they are completely dried, you can apply a thick layer of lacquer to seal it.
  24. Their 20ft is top 10ft and bottom 10ft, so basically is 10ft top and bottom. Usually they use the cheapest hollow plywood with the cheapest laminates and internal carcass is make of cheap pvc. I'm unable to advice if your ID quote is expensive or cheap without looking at their workmanship and knowing the materials use to make your cabinet. If compare to mine (20ft kitchen cabinet (top & bottom) comes with Blum lift-up system, Blum internal drawers, Blum orga-line trays, Hettich drawer system, Hettich hinges and 16ft of CaesarStone for $10,000), your quote is very cheap.
