  1. Went to Courts today as they are having a super promo for Panasonic System 4 Inverter system (3 sets of fancoil at 9000BTU each) at $2599 including 3yr installation warranty and 5yrs extended warranty. This price is about $500 cheaper than Gain City, Allbest or Aircon Gallery. However, not 1 but a total of 3 Courts salesman suggested to me to take the Europace 1. The fancoil plastic cover for the Panasonic system is very filmsy and they have received several complaints about cracked cover. This piece of plastic cover will actually vibrate with the fancoil as it cannot be clipped firmly to the fancoil. 2. The Europace system is the same as per the Mitsubishi Electric system as Europace is actually the manufacturer for Mitsubishi Starmex and they are sharing the same components. If there are any problems with the Europace system, the repairman will use Mitsubishi parts to repair. 3. The Eurpoace system is quiter than Panasonic. 4. They are running the promotion for Panasonic and Panasonic is clearing stock for this current mode. 5. For the same price as per the Panasonic system, Europace offers 2 units of 9000BTU for the smaller rooms + 1 unit of 12000BTU for the masterbedroom. Anyone here using Europace? If yes, what are your comments about this brand? I need to confirm fast as my reno is scheduled to start mid Jan.
  2. Hi Bigbull, Mind if you check with K as to where he get the toilet doors for you? I want to get the similar doors for my toilets. Thanks! Norman
  3. Tell your confinement nanny to be careful lor... best if you buy some coasters and place them on the kompactop in case your confinement nanny need to put a hot pot on the surface top. Afterall, it is just a piece of laminate and resistance to heat will not be as good as compared to stones. Anyway, loving your kitchen a lot. I will have to choose a light brown colour caesarstone for my kitchen top as my helper has to cook 2 meals a day for a family of 6.
  4. Yup... That's what the sales person told me as well. But as you know, when you have a helper at home and when you go heavy cooking on a daily basis, accidents might just occur and the whole kompactop panel will be gone. I really love the look of the the Kompactop but sigh...
  5. Wanted to get Kompactop for my kitchen but the salesperson told me "NO NO" if I intend to do heavy cooking everyday and die die cannot put a hot pan on the surface top. The design is so nice and classic but cannot use for my new house...
  6. It will not work coz they will deliver the big ticket items to you by end of Dec if you are buying at discounted pricing. They will not hold for you for a few months and wait for your renovation to be completed coz it will add on to their storage and inventory costs.
  7. It is possible if you are not retiling your kitchen and that your carpentry are all fabricated before the wetworks are completed.
  8. Hi all, I intend to get some taps and mixers from Taobao for my new place and was wondering if there is a need for me to buy the complete package as per recommended by the seller or do I just buy the tap alone. Taobao Link Pls help...
  9. Technically speaking on 2nd appointment. My reno is scheduled to start on 14 Jan and target to complete by 4-5 Feb. Praying hard that I can move in before CNY. Both toilets complete overhaul. Kitchen only hack the wall between the kitchen and living room to create more space. Me not engaging ID. Just 2 contractors to handle the hacking and carpentry stuff. You can pop by my place after my reno to have a feel.
  10. Your unit at Woodlands? I got the exact same unit at Woodlands Drive 70! My reno is scheduled to start mid Jan.
  11. Nexer, I confirmed Nicholas liao. He will be doing the hacking, tiling and plumbing works for my new house in Jan. Thanks for recommendation. Hopefully it will turn out good for the both of us. Norman
  12. Hi, Can someone here give me some heads up as to what is the market price for the below plumbing jobs? 1. Lay new stainless steel piping for a 5 room HDB flat to kitchen and both toilets. Only need cold water pipes as I am using instant heaters. 2. Installing 2pcs WC and 2 sets bidet hand spray. 3. Installing 2pcs wash basins and taps. 4. Installing 2 sets shower spray and 2 toilet mixers. 5. Installing kitchen sink and kitchen mixer tap. By the way, for instant heater, whose job is it to connect the electricity to the heater? Is it the plumber or the electrician? Many thanks in advance!
  13. Nick34, Your price of less than $2K is including rewiring the entire unit plus installation of lights and other appliances? How many light points your have?
  14. Bro, Your toilet is bottom tiles and upper cement screed plus paint. You not afraid of cracks appearing on the walls later?
  15. Can PM me your contact for the big big mirror? It is very hard to find one who can supply such big mirror. Thanks.
  16. It is ok bro... seems like my original carpenter has quoted me wrong price. Now his price for a 2ft vanity top with laminates, coloured PVC and iquartz top is $480 so I will go for a custom made one instead. Thanks for the advice.
  17. Hi, Anyone currently using ikea was stand like the one in the URL? Do you get your own plumber to assemble and install for you and connect the pipes accordingly or you get the Ikea guys to do it? I called up Ikea and they are giving me conflicting answers... http://www.ikea.com/sg/en/catalog/products/S39894678/#/S89894666
  18. Go to Singapore KDK website and search for the local dealers instead. I remember that there is one shop in Bedok and one in AMK selling local KDK at a low price with 1yr warranty. The M11SU price is about $160-170 including GST.
  19. Hi Nexer, Need to speak to you regarding Nicholas. Pls sms me at 96821326. Thanks very much. Norman
  20. Pls PM me your electrician contact. Thanks!
  21. I also need a mkt price electrician for my new house. Pls PM me too. Thanks.
  22. No prob... But if you are on the heavy side like me, do check with the shop on their warranty for the high density foam before commiting to them. Most vendors only give warranty on structure but not on foam.
  23. OM Bedframe is good. The one I am using now is more than 10yrs old and still going strong. Intend to bring it over to my new house next yr. OM sofa not for me due to my weight (90kg) and the durability of their so-called high density foam. I rejected total 2 different sofas from OM as the foam started to sink 2 weeks after using them. Had a full refund via credit note from the OM management eventually and used it to book a dining table plus dining chairs 2 weeks ago. Anyway, I love the look of the sofa you bought. If the foam used by OM is more durable, I will probably shortlist this model for my new home too.
  24. PD Door and Swingslide Door have something similar. Price is $399 if I am not wrong.
  25. Bro, Can PM me your contractor contacts? Me on a tight budget. Thanks.
