The early bird Doesnt get to catch the worm after all... It's the Mrs here As the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm. Unfortunately, it doesnt apply in our case. I am so so so upset, to say the least. And it is all thanks to BoConcept. Recently received an email from them regarding the design sale with store wide discounts of 20% and additional 5% on preview night. As mentioned above, we have purchased our stuff about a month ago. What upsets me was that I had asked a few of the sales executive at both outlets if there would be a GSS. They said that most prob there would not be any GSS this year as they had not received any news. Even if there were to be a GSS, the sale would only be on selected items. I took their word for it and purchased my items and now there is a GSS?!? Seems like they were more eager to close the deal rather than be honest. On a sidenote, I am such a shopaholic and yet I can get deceived. Sheesh! (Must be too much online shopping) The sales staff are also not well informed re the T&Cs of sales. I shall not go into the specifics but it really gave us quite abit of inconvenience. Well, what's done cannot be undone. I can only sulk and console myself with this. 1. the additional 5% discount is not alot 2. My furniture can be delivered to me on time rather than in august/ sept Lessons learnt 1. Never never never believe what the sales say 2. Wait, wait and wait until the sales start! Do not buy before the GSS

Hi 3Dyms,Whatever you have mentioned above has happened to us. We bought Clayton before as we thought we werent so particular about toilet bowls and wated to save cost. Yes,, I had to flush twice (due to weak flushing) and lay toilet papers before flushing to prevent the contents from splashing out. We're doing our reno for a second time, and will definitely get Toto for both toilets as we feel that such money shouldn't be saved. My wife doesn't even bother looking at other brands now. Hope this helps in your decision making.

Hi! It's the mrs here! Can I just say that you're exactly like my hubby?! (Difference is I'm the one cleaning...) Think you 2 can be BFFs and maybe set up a task force to look for ant nests around our houses! Case in point - My hubby asked mr k re the wooden door frame today. Lights discussion: to cut short, we had a long lengthy discussion (1.5 hrs), and I think I have really bad taste compared to Mr. K. Here's why: Living room light (purchased from Taobao) : Mr. K : 这里跑tracklight还是吊灯 wife: 吊灯 Mr. K : 吊灯放哪里 ？ Me (very excitedly) : 中间 (me pointing onto centre of ceiling) Wife (immediately jutted in) : no la should be corner ! Me (agitated) : 没有 ！ 中间 啦！ Mr K : 你的灯是圆的事吗？ (note that he hasn't seen our lights before). 这样应该放旁边。 中间不美。。。 Me: (zipped up and pai seh)

Brick wall Some updates. We have requested for Pinkwhale's brick wall (thanks Pinkwhale, if you're still on renotalk ) to be replicated in our home for our living area. Please note that this is not the final product as there will be some modifications, and the wall is not painted yet. Some history on this: Me: 我要 Pinkwhale 的 brick wall. Mr K: 好 (at the same time he kept stressing it is a very subjective thing), but we noticed his "sian" look when we mentioned that. haha Wife and Mr K busy discussing on the modifications: We noticed the middle patch was exceptionally big and round, and luckily he agreed. Hence, he will shift some to "dilute" its thickness. We were quite shocked by his creativity when he was marking out those bricks to be shifted, all within a few minutes ! (need to stress that this is no fault of Mr. K, as his worker does not have much experience in this "patchy" work. Mr K told us that he personally did Pinkwhale's wall). On a side note, he was early again...we were supposed to meet around 11-11.30am, and he called at 9.30 ! Mr K: 你到了没有 Wife: 还没有 Mr K: 可以现在来吗 Wife : 我们刚买早餐。。。十点半可以吗 Mr K : Ok. And we had to rush thru' our favourite CV nasi lemak and petai, but it was well worth it.

Oh dear! Pls try to ensure they do the piping properly as they will all be concealed. Can you ask your id to help manage them as he would have more experience re trunking/wiring. It would be such a pity if in a few years time you need to carry out a mini reno cos of this, especially when your reno is turning out so beautifully!
