  1. Hi Can you share your reno n aircon cost pls? I just got a resale condo as well. I have pm u
  2. hi, so same like mine la.. which i find a bit stupid bcos if the remote spoil, the lights also cannot use....
  3. hi oonik girl u installed ur elmark fans already? i rem u also bought the 4054 model the curved blade one right? can i just check, for ur fans, when they install, when u switch on the main switch, does the light come on or u still need to press the remote to turn on the lights?
  4. tat one need powergas people to do it... they will do it during the activation...
  5. yup shd apply for gas first then powergas will come and run the pipe first.. then u put up the cabinet then call them again to activate the supply... if u didnt tell ur contractor u want to use govt gas, then he put up cabinet already, then u got to use cylinder gas liao..
  6. wat a fren of mine did was to meet the MP and seek his assistance. MP wrote to HDB, appeal was succesful within a week or 2.... after they waiting for abt 2mths with hdb officer giving same reasoning as wat u got.
  7. halal is not abt the kind of food... its about how it is prepared, etc.... so chinese dishes also can be halal... e.g. u familiar with Banquet foodcourt? serves chinese ,vietnamese, etc, but all are halal... for those conducting wedding, those muslims would prefer chinese cuisine if possible if its halal... otherwise many hotels when they talk abt halal, they will simply serve some soup and then briyani rice.. so while the chinese will have 10 course meal, muslims only get at most 7, the last one consisting of abt 4 dishes served together... by the time they finish eating, the non muslims at most only thru course number 6 maybe... if tok abt worth, for muslims, it a very expensive briyani meal.. haha...
  8. touching on religion is more than just abt race.. in fact religion and race are 2 diff matters altogether... indians can be hindu or christians, so u are in actual fact saying that hinduism or christianity dont allow them to hang their clothes inside? another e.g. malays are generally muslims but there are also indian muslims or even chinese who are muslims, so if next time u happen to see chinese who put their clothes outside, then they must be muslims since muslim religion say cannot hang clothes outside? I thk its best to stay away from tcouhing on religion or even race. Its not nice to start stereotyping certain races/religions bcos there is no hard facts or figures to substanciate these claims.. I hv had my fair share of neighbours who hang their clothes outside, who hv like a jungle outside their homes and not all are indian or malays.. what i can say is that grouping them together with those who have had kampong experience would be more approriate as these behaviours are typical of their way of living back in the kampung days... maybe when our kids grow up, these kind of behaviour will get lesser since the number of people who hv ever stayed in the kampung is getting lesser by the day...
  9. if i DIY the food for mine, then whole day i will be in the kitchen only bcos got big family... then next whole day to clean up the mess... haha.
  10. I thk u just happen to encounter malays/indians who are either older generation or hv big family.. as to why cannt hang inside also can be due to few reasons, e.g. no sun, not enuff space (big family alot of laundry), etc.. not everyone can afford to operate a dryer... I hv come across many units where they are non malays but show similar or even worse behaviours. at least if clothes, its not permanent (unless big family and the owner is housewife, then laundry hv to do everyday)... those who put plants especially those like forest, is worst.... there is a place, the person staying on level2, non malay/indian, but they plant trees/plants on the ground floor patch of grass.. then hv a hose coming out of their window to water these. their corridor also full of plants.. so i thk this is not a matter of race, but rather the family size, age of family, whether housewife or not, etc....
  11. filters i clean regularly, but in terms of servicing, so far i hv not done it...
  12. quite true.. nowadays aircon very cheap as compared to last time. my prev house 15th flr, normally very windy.. i stayed there 7 yrs, i hardly on the aircon. but wind is not something i can control, when the hot season comes and at nite totally no wind, or the air itself is warm, then use fan is just to circulate back the warm air, so at that time, i will on the aircon.. 7 yrs i nvr serviced the aircon even once.. dunno if this is good or not la. normally just the fan will do but really some months, aircon is a blessing man... my house not so high but during daytime, the wind blow will blow down my photo frames and carpets type...
  13. yup, so very neat... no need so many speakers
  14. i thk he meant no need to run wires for rear speakers bcos this set is a 2.1 set... i am very keen but the price is a bit on the high side....
  15. Is there an ignition switch? actually not necc, similarly, for ur cooker hob, after use, do u go and turn off the gas supply? unless u dun mind everyday go and turn it on and off... i hv not turned off the gas ever since i got it.... only if i go for long vacation then i maybe turn it off...
