    After all the waiting and the excited planning...... *drumroll* WE GOT THE KEYS TO OUR HOUSE YESTERDAY!! Finally, all the carefully crafted renovation plans can be put into motion! *beam* We went straight down to the apartment after collecting the keys and setting up the SP services account to do the door opening ritual (once again, thank you RT forum for giving us a step by step guide for us to follow) Photos to follow shortly! Now, we're effectively banned from the house until Friday where we'll be going back to the apartment after work (with contractor in tow) so that precise measurements can be taken. On an unrelated note, during my absence from the t-blog, we have already placed our orders for the entire house's lightings, sinks, taps, shower systems etc using Peeka so that's struck off our list. The reno journey is about to start next Monday! (that's if the FSM who's coming down to do the house audit this Saturday approves)

    Today's the first day of your reno process right? congrats!! Will be collecting my keys this afternoon and if all goes well, will be starting our Reno next Monday!

    I agree with everyone else - the condition looks awesome! To be honest, it's practically move-in condition already, unlike so many of our places where a major overhaul is required *envy*

    hahahahaahahaha i'm still waiting for the more senior ones to take the lead then we can even organize makan gatherings (in the west, of course!) Yup, that's good advice. Now patiently counting down until the day we can finally get the keys and get the reno officially started the contractor just took the floorplan from us to apply for the reno permit today =)

    Wow Happy Husband is back in here! Shouldn't your baby be called HappyKia instead of Junior HappyAng? I'm not qualified to set up the West-side Mainsonette club lah hhahaah not only am I the newest member of the club, I also entered via the backdoor one *sssshhh* Actually there's another forummer here called soonliew who just bought a unit at my estate so we've been chatting. She's officially the latest member of the West-side Maisonette club (WMC!)

    That's what my HTB says as well *sigh* So this eastsider is moving to the West for the first time in her life I agree with 3Dyms My contractor told me that the overhaul of my unit will take approximately 1.5 months to 2 months because he knows that i'm getting married in early Nov but we've told him that we would rather ensure that he does a good job than rush just to handover the unit before our wedding

    Thanks for the confirmation. I'll be sure to try out Redmart next time. I know that their prices are comparable to the listed prices in supermarkets right? There doesn't seem to be much of a premium. My HTB likes to order his meats from www.qbfood.com.sg

    Hi pills, I have no idea. I'm just an amateur housewife wannabe so we'all have to wait for the resident experts to reply. However, I do know that my friends who have opened cafes and restaurants go to Sia huat to get their supplies - even my hubby, who was the pioneer bartender at Harry's Esplanade said that they went to sia huat to get supplies when they were setting up the bar.     And the expert has spoken! Please do share the contact for the outlet @ Tiong Bahru and the wholesale outlet @ Woodlands! The thought of smoked duck is making me drool... I can order them and then toss them into my salads, pastas, stews, home-made pizza...I think I can even use it as an ingredient for hotpots and steamboats! The HTB is a VERY LUCKY MAN hahahahaahha *envy* Now I wish I have ping-pong dishes to give away so that I can get Vanessa's shepherd's pie too.... I'm a HUGE fan of shepherd's pie and will be one of the first things I make in the new house

    No problem at all hahahaha thanks for the heads up, will certainly try to do some research before heading down talking about food wholesalers, i didn't know that such a business existed until my HTB started ordering supplies from such wholesalers He uses http://www.qbfood.com.sg/ Is this good or do you know of other better ones?
