  1. My Reno will only start in a few more mths... Now doing alot of research.... Have always wanted the raw cement screed look but was concerned with the cracks and stain issues... Really glad to see that tiles tht looks so close to cement screed exists... Is it expensive to lay? What's the cost (tiles + labour) per sq feet?
  2. Ah ok, that's clears it up... Will follow ur tip in splitting the items by sizes Thanks alot!
  3. Hey MiracleSG, Thanks for the tip! Just to clarify.... you mean for Daigou, all the charges you need to pay is just 10% for each per item purchased? Any other charges? Because that sounds cheaper than Amcon even for bulky items. For eg: To buy a S$300 sofa via Amcon, I will probably need 2m cube of space. Therefore the charges to ship it over could be up to S$200. But for Daigou is only S$30?
  4. Ah thanx... that's really helpful! Just to confirm... 1) How would I know what is the domestic delivery cost? 2) Taobao address = the URL of the item I want to buy?
  5. Hi Frankman, I'm going to start my purchases for furnitures (bulky items like sofa, tv console, sinks, dining table and chairs etc) from Taobao real soon. I want to check if buying thru Amcon is as straight forward as I imagine it to be. 1) Contact Amcon 2) Meet May Ho in person and give her all the links of the things I want to purchase. 3) Pay Amcon the value of the purchases. 4) Wait for the items to arrive at Amcon's warehouse in Canton 5) Amcon will measure my cargo and inform me of the forwarding charges involved. 6) Pay Amcon the forwarding charges 7) Wait for my loot to be delivered to my place Is this process correct? Thank you so much

  8. I like it tiles... They look very much like cement screed... Are they expensive to lay?
  9. Ah I see... Comfort is definitely an important decision point.. Good choice....
  10. But it does looks really comfy though... Just wondering why u choose this one over the one from star living... That one is cheaper and wif removable cover... Sorry ah, juz a little bit curious. =P
  11. Wow... They sure have their principles to follow... The material looks really comfy to sit on... But at least to me, the none removable cover is a draw back.... Sekali guest split their coffee on the sofa, my face will go crooked... Hehe
  12. The price tag says $1150 for the 2 seater... any chance for discount? the seat cover can be removed and wash?
  13. I really like ur DIY brick wall as it gives a subtle texture to it... I want to do the same for my new flat... but I'm not sure if doing it with a thick coat of plaster will work. ultimately it's about moulding something that will harden eventually ...ehhh right?
  14. Oh my...Alan Tan? I hope it's a different Alan Tan from the Aian Furniture and Renovation Contractor....
  15. wow...different color.......... hmmm...... Thanks for the advice!
  16. Hi Frankman, thanks! I see... so I can safely say for each 'bulky' item, I should add between S$200 to S$250 to the price on the site eh? Yes, the cabinet is not cheap.... but I think it can cost 2 to 3 times more in singapore.... I'm more worried they same me a replica that doesn't look 100% like the photo (the photo looks like some magazine photo) What's the chances of such thing happening?
  17. Hi Frankman, may I ask if such items are safe to buy? I'm dont feel safe as there are no comments from other buyers http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.1.oN1ddw&id=25833292808 Also, does it mean all I need to pay is rmb3500 + how much the forwarder charges you? Thanks~
  18. That's what I meant... I believe now u living room floor is leveled with the bedroom... But in the future is u wanna lay laminate on the living room, the floor height will be diff... Hmmm donnoe how this can be resolved
  19. Was ur floor screeded by hdb? Shld get them to level it for u... In any case, the characteristic of herf was that the floor doesn't have to be 100% leveled... "So to speak"
  20. Sink will never be too big... Big sink is good when washing wok... Yay!
  21. Oh ok... Cos I had the same tot too... When the cracks get too unsightly, or when I get tired of it, I may wanna lay vinyl over it... But this point abt the difference in height remains a doubt to me... Shall ask my contractor when I do shortlist one
  22. If u lay laminate flooring later, it will create a different in floor height where the laminated flooring ends right? How to mitigate that ah?
