  1. Is your flat in Beo Crescent...lay out exactly the same as my friend's....Anyway I really like how you renovate your flat.....looks spacious and bright.
  2. I just installed Fujioh Fx900 2 days ago through Zero. It was hassle free and fast service...everything by phone/pm save time and price is good too. previously had a chimney bellari, I can say Fx900 performance is far far better...it is quite huge but the design is such that it can suck the fume so much better. Those with aluminium grill type filter like what I had previously perform quite bad compare to fujioh design.
  3. A bigger capacity washer/dryer like Toshiba tw150vs 9kg/6kg would be better. Using one for 4 years, no problem...error code occur usually becoz load is unbalanced. It is true washing/drying cycle time is very long, the good is you dont have to transfer from washer to dryer, so press on and 'forget' just give more time to finish its job
  4. I am quite surprised...all these years they never improved their products, my unit was installed in 2002 and now the flat is rented out. It was a system 2 inverter...problems usually is not cold at all, change pcb a few times...even change the condensor unit outside to a new one....but problem persists...sometimes cold ..sometimes not at all...ended buying a portable aircon to supplement lol. Finally rented put the flat...so far tenant never complain guess they dont use to save electricity. They have very bad qc for pcb board I guess. What I am surprised is now 2011 ... still got people complain the same thing. Sometimes electrical stuff do have problem...but after one service or repair will solve it and giving you confidence in the product. Mine was continuous headache in span of 5 years with numerous part change...culminating in changing a 'new' condensor just before the 5 year waranty expire.
  5. Please look at this thread http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40961 seems like MHI has issues with not cold enough...the compressor made in Thailand.
  6. Mitsubishi Electric AC is different from MHI Mitsubishi Heavy Industry AC, which one are yours? They are two different creatures
  7. Currently I am using a chimney type hood....is it possible to install Fx900 which is slimline type as I dont have any cabinet above it to support?
  8. Anyone using and any review on it? Is it higher range than FX900 which seem to b quite popular.
  9. Had one before...good is quite cold...portable(obviously) bad is....very noisy and 'mata' take a lot of space.
  10. Yeah, I had bad experience with MHI air con....countless repair, change pcb, change the whole compressor....always not cold...luckily all that time got warranty. Now I moved another apt, already installed with Akira air-con...sounds like a cheap brand.... but **** cold and no issues compare to the 'branded' one.
  11. I am with citibank but they rejected my request for refinance becoz my outstanding is <150K . I wonder if other banks have such a stupid rule. Anyway for people thinking of refinancing I found this website that is quite good coz you can really see your savings and all terms and expense are clearly stated. http://moneyiq.sg/jsp/index.jsp If I refinance with sibor link loan....my total interest for 1st 3 years is 4K plus (assuming sibor stays low) as it is my current loan is 3.75% total interest I paid in 1 year alone is already more than 5K Even if sibor is trending up...I think the margin of safety is quite large due to the 'high' interest I am paying now. When I took my loan ...... at that time they only have fixed or variable rate type. I took the 'variable' loan. I guessed it is variable in the sense that it goes up if overall interest (sibor) go up but they never adjust it downward when interest environment is low as it is now.
  12. I have a Toshiba dryer/washer load is 6kg/9kg been using almost 3 years now. 2 in 1 is good if space is limited and if you are lazy to transfer from washer to dryer. It can dry your clothes fully and has anti-crease program, the key is dont overload when drying...if u do the clothing will feel slightly damp, otherwise it even feel hot to touch. I am happy with it. The downside is the drying cycle is quite long.
  13. I used to rent an aircon-room at $450, that was like in 2002. I always on it when, I am back from work till next morning when I go to work. The landlord has no issue with it. The thing is if you rent out a room as aircon, then you cant restrict the hours unless agreed beforehand. I would say, you should rent at $100 plus whatever basic rent you want for the room if you include the aircon....that way electricity is well covered and you dun have to worry about the e-bill. I guessed my landlord is okay with it...coz he did the samething as well, basically aircon all the time.
  14. HDB has a standard tenancy agreement which you can use and download from its website. As long as the owner and tenant both agree, you do not have to use/pay an agent. However you have to 'chop' the tenancy agreement and pay stamp duty at IRAS for it to be legally binding.
  15. I saw this product being demo at peoples park recently looks effective, it costs $59, the salesperson said usual price $99. It certainly has good water absorbtion quality. http://www.magic-mop.com/index_topic.php?d...didpath=/124724 Being a lazy person, I also looking for easier way to clean. Still considering whether to buy. Currently using roman-mop, I think it sponge only good when quite new....after a while like 'normal' sponge mop also.
  16. My hood is bellari chimney type...alreday there when bought my place. Inside got 2 charcoal filter...need to replace yearly at $50 each....thats $100 Is it too much.....? other brands...comments? I asked coz I see some hood only selling like $300+ Anyone use those type that have oil draining type or easy to clean type Basically a hood that is low maintenace/high efficiency
  17. I using the Bosch benchtop, usually setting is 2, the water temp is 65C, if less soiled/oily setting 3, water temp is 50C, so I guessed electricity used maybe quite a bit, but not more so than other aplliances like washer/dryer aircon, coz the water used is not much. But I love it, coz everything comes out squeeky clean, hot and dry. I would have bought the bigger free standing type, coz cost only few hundreds more but due to space constraint...
  18. I am using a benchtop Bosch dishwasher. Very convenient, just chuck evrything in. However, each cleaning cycle will take like 3-4 hours depending on the setting use.
  19. I think dun have to do anything as the insulation will last quite a while more likely the compressor itself will go first.
  20. I have no experience living in west facing home. However previously, was living in top floor old HDB flat NS orientation, it was very hot during night time as the roofing is not well insulated I guess. The effect of a west facing will be similar as the wall will be absorbing the heat during the day till 7pm and slowly released during night time. Granted, during hot season, all flats will be hot no doubt, but those that face the direct west sun or old top level flat will be hotter than the rest esp during night time. In my old flat, aircon is on whenever I at home, all year round, even fan wont do.
  21. I love the layout of your home.....can walk circle It is very cosy. The only thing, is how is the ventilation for the toilets since it does not open to the 'outside' But then I can see that it is exactly the positioning of the toilets/shower in the middle of the flat that gave it the unique layout. Is the front of the washrooms a wall or is a window? Anyway thanks for showcasing your flat, never knew 3 room flat has this layout....I think not even 4room ya.
  22. I have rented out my HDB out without using an agent service. On HDB online, there is a sample of tenancy agreement which you can download and use, after you draft out the TA keep one copy and the other copy which the tenant keeps has to be 'stamp' at IRAS for it to be legal document and binding. Otherwise in any dispute, the law will protect the owner rather than tenant, thus it is the tenant onus to get it stamped. For finding tenant, just use some online ad, coz of huge demand for rental property, very easy to find tenants, no need to use agent, use only in a weak market. Be sure to check your tenants EP etc....online on MOM site photocopy it.
