  4. Oki i got the number of mr yip, the uncle incharge of haulage.kitchen haulage is $200. I asked what about the false ceiling n other carpentry work? He said the contractor doing it is responsible to clear and i should not be charged for that. Which was what i thought in the first place.
  5. Anybody using ace vinyl flooring? My contractor offering me that..
  6. ok, so my hubby called town council and they said the number for haulage is at our lift lobby, but when we went there there is no such number. The board was almost empty... How come they cant give us the number directly on the phone. Anybody knows the haulage number for BTO Greenleaf? Please share with me. Thanks!
  7. Im at tampines area.. No hacking done at my place.
  8. My id charged me $800 for haulage, but i heard from some people and some ids that you can go to hdb and its cheaper? Because in the end they will still need to through HDB for haulage. Is it true. How do we go about it, call them or go there, do we need to bring anything like quotation. Im only doing kitchen cabinet, false ceiling, and vinyl flooring for my reno. Do we still need to pay for so much haulage. Somebody pls advise. Im really blur. Thanks in advance.
  9. Yup! HDB will do it for free. I just did mine cos im doing vinyl flooring.
  10. @SamuelTeo wow! Thanks for the ideas! Really helps. I intend to have a water dispenser hot/cold. For microwave oven we have decided not to get a built in one (Too ex), just a normal one. But was thinking of asking the contractor to make an open shelve cabinet for microwave and water dispenser on the other side... whaddya guys and gals think?
  11. Whats the price they offer? Is it for waterproof vinyl?
  12. @battleangel thanks for ur opinion.appreciate it. @raydon You asked for vinyl or laminate from evorich. If vinyl how did u get the low price. Who quoted u? Can explain more abt the group buy? Thanks... Anyone heard of Ace for vinyl flooring? My contractor offering me this. Its much cheaper but quality wise im not sure.
  13. @kangaroo168 hehe... at first we wanted to do that but decided not to coz our home is on level 2 and near the rubbish chute..i very scared all these creepie crawlies will fly in while im cooking.hehe.so better have a door to cover and at least people wont c the mess in the laundry area
  14. @kangeroo168 thanks for the suggestion.yup ive decided to do like what u said after much thought.will be putting my oven below the hob for more space. @Miichele Yes.i actually thought of extending the kitchen but cant because of the entrance. Such wasted space.
  15. i enjoyed reading your journey to reno... Nice updating. Cant wait for your completed pix to be up!
  16. @Peanut 88, hello! Thank you for the suggestion. Im at Tampines Greenleaf , and yeah the kitchen is so small. Thanks for the measurements given, at least i have a rough idea what size i should be getting. Still surveying for the hob hood, fridge etc.. So far anybody has any problems with the oven placed below the hob? If any of ya have any pictures pls do post!
  17. Hi all, My contractor has asked me to start looking for Hob, hood, Fridge, sink, oven, water dispenser cos he needs to do measurement for my kitchen. I really do not know how to choose these items. First up, any places recommended to go to shop for the above items. It would be a great, if most of it i can just buy from one or two places. 2nd, what brands are recommended for hob hood, oven and fridge. So far ive only been to Gain City and Mustafa and Expo. Most of the brands i saw for hob hood was Turbo, Aerogaz, EF. Is EF or Turbo good? The homes that i went to view to c the contractors workmanship, most of them using EF or Turbo from what i noticed. ANybody here using them? for hood im interested in those slim ones. Cos my kitchen is very small. For Fridge i saw an LG priced at $779. Not bad. Very big and nice. So far anybody use LG for fridge? How do i choose a good oven? I love to bake, what functions do i look out for, cos in my previous home i was just using a very cheap oven! hehe.. For water dispenser any recommended affordable brands? I want a hot/cold and room temperature. For sinks i have yet to make any research on that, undermount or top mount? Brands that can last. Your comments, recomendations and reviews are appreciated much.. Thank u in advance.
  18. Hi everyone, im in love with the vinyl woody texture and the rubbery feel when i step on it, but however after reading a lot of info here shared by fellow renotalk members, i feel there is a need to look more into which brand is good. I asked evorich during the recent expo and they quoted me $6.20 which is still quite ex to me.Supreme the cheapest $5.50 but not much choice i visited inovar as well and they quoted me $7plus if im not mistaken. However theirs is not the click and lock system, which they claim to be not good cos can c gaps. May i know how true is this, anybody used Evorich or Innovar Vinyl care to share? CLick and lock or the normal ones better. Also i asked my contractor and he said he using ACE for my vinyl floor from US and says that its much cheaper. Anybody had used this brand before. I cant find much about this brand for the reviews. THank you in advance!
  19. i just engaged a contractor and he doesnt do 3D drawings, i would somehow like to organise the kitchen layout so that i would have more space for me to do my preparations for cooking. Any suggestions? Should i put all the tall units at one side of the kitchen? Or separate into 2 sides. My contractor suggested to put the fridge near to the kitchen entrance.. oven, microwave, water dispenser at the other side... how do you guys layout your kitchen, samples and ideas. Thank you so much in advance.
  20. Bepgof, i just want to share with people who have the right mindset and a big heart. You r going to be where u are now 5yrs down the road if u have a mindset like this.i know of a way to get there. Do you?
  21. Hi there everyone, my dad just told me that we can get cheaper price if we outsource separate companies rather that taking an id to do the whole unit. He said that for vinyl flooring, doors and grilles, false ceiling go direct to the company for quotation is much cheaper and its true. i Asked several companies for vinyl flooring and all quoted around 3800. Whereby id/contactor quote me 4454 to almost 5K. As for kitchen cabinet and tiles overlay for toilet & kitchen can ask contractor and id to do. I know it seems a lil trouble but at least can save up a bit. Has anybody done their home this way?? Any vinyl companies to recommend? Any doors company to recommend? And any id to recommend for my kitchen and toilet? Thank you!
