yup they do customization with installation, its the sub-contractor of ikea to do for u, they are located at the alternation dept if u r buying the rods yourself, u need to drill hole on the wall to put the rods

u mean the curtain in ikea? they sell 2 types of rod - 1rod with 2 sliding space (for u to do day and night curtain) - 1rod with 1 sliding space (for u to do night curtain only) do u intend to get from ikea? i will post the photos for u later, hehe duno how to describe the shape

hi gadgetgal, yup i am doing grilles.. my $804 is only for the living room and mbr..haven include the 2 bedrooms.the 2 bedrooms i will buy it at ikea,so total cost will be around $900+also. at clementi there are 2 big curtain shops, i got it there at one of the shops Hi Sam, do post a picture and let us know whether can do it or not,hehe,this issue has always in my mind.hope u can clear for us. ya its important for me that the curtain dont have gap.cos privacy.i stay in low floor also that if the hse do till swee swee liao,then if curtain do not so satisfy also no point..so i rather that it can be done completely

duno whether did i made a wrong decision to do custom made..anybody did a 1 rod for the curtain at the living room? if 1 rod can do, can the curtain close fully? (cos at the end of the rod you cant close the curtain completely)

ya lor, no other alternatives. most pple said must custom made for living room and mbr if want to do the best.. if do 2rods, there will sure be a gap in between do curtain for our hse is also a headache cos of the living room and mbr the 2 other rooms is ok cos its straight, can easily solve the problem

just an update on my purchase, no pictures to show yet bought custom made curtains for my mbr and living room already - living room window is "semi-circle" type. need to custom made so that the curtain flow nicely. - mbr window is full L-shape. there is no break in between. so cant do 2 rod curtain too. must custom made so that the flow can go smoothly. if use 2 rod, i cant cover the window 100%. there will be a gap at the right angle area of the window. total damage for custom made curtain for my mbr(night curtain) and living room(day+night)=$804 bought at one of the curtain shop at clementi wow, money spent so fast..

ya think the molecule sale is still there i was there molecule last sat too, eyeing on a clock that cost $500+.like the clock so much leh,but its so exp the tv console there also v nice. but cost $8000+..if money is not a problem, i will buy everything from molecule hehe

i love ST Louis furniture too. Dining table and coffee table is v impt to make the living room looks modern. u have made a first step towards modern already !! ur tv also v big leh..

think of it, if use 2 rods in the living room, your rod need to mount one 1up 1 lower..cant mount on the same level i guess really have to custom made our mbr and living room leh.. i have window grilles, cant use the idea of drilling hole in the window area !!

oh ya, for the living room, another idea is to buy 2 rods, then dont need to custom made already if 2 rod, there will be 4 pieces of curtain there already actually 2 pieces will be ideal, ie if u open ur curtain, the 2 piece will ended up at the side of the window if 4 pieces, you can see 2 extra pieces in the middle of your living room window hmmm..not sure also whether can the 2 rods fits correctly at the "semi-rounded" window

first time in my life that i spend money like nobody business, hehe, every week go and buy stuffs, lol, spend spend spend er, bought a toilet roll holder over the last weekend only. Cost is $9 each. bought 2 for 2 bathrooms also bought a sprayer (the thing that u hang beside the toilet bowl) @ $12.50 each hehe over the weekend spent only $43 BUT! next week will be eyeing on curtains already. another "$ bomb". after a long search of curtains yesterday, realised that for my hse, the curtains need to custom made **** room and mbr. estimated cost for the whole hse curtain is almost $1k.. initially thought that i can settle all the curtains at most $400 at ikea. but i am wrong.hai

went to shop for curtains yesterday..notice these few points: 1) Our living room window cant hang a piece of long bar to fit the curtain. Cos the whole stretch of window there is not straight. it is abit of semi-circle type. So, we cant buy the rod from ikea and install it right? the only way is to custom made 2) our mbr, its a full right-angle window.There is no wall in between the window. So if you want to install 2 piece of curtain at the whole panel of window, u need to custom made also -if you dont custom made, the "joint" of the right angel window cant cover completely. 3) only leave 2 bedrooms, we can buy the rod and curtain directly from ikea to save cost * - i was quoted abt $600+ for the mbr custom made curtain. (it has day + night curtain). If do only night curtain, the cost is $300+ - for the 2 bedrooms, my rod and curtains add up to about $90 per room (rod=$39, 1 packet of curtain=$40~50). there are other rods, i guess some rod is cheaper - for living room, i may need almost the same price as the mbr cos living room i am doing day+night curtain too.. wow total cost for the curtains can be so ex leh..reason is because of our mbr and living room design went to clementi yesterday, saw there are 3 curtain shops, havent go and ask the price yet..need to check it out again PS: anyone did living room curtain without custom made? meaning use a long rod will do? need to ask for opinion / idea whether can a long rod settle the living room. (the long rod needs to be a double rod, to do day+night curtain)

(mine started work at factory already,but need to wait till next week then install) ask u ah, normally they took 1week+ to do the carpentry at factory right? your bedroom 2 and bedroom 3 lights are so nice also..hehe. does it cost abt $100+ per light?

the square cake is glass type the plc lights cover has hinge, will not drop. some other plc lights has no hinge nope i didnt get any dining lights hai i should have read more in the forum before i go to buy. a piece of advice to those who havent buy lights yet: After selected ur lights, do ask for discount "item by item". You can get more discount compared to a "total discount" given eg. for mine, the before discount is $1060. after discount was $920. If i were to ask for discount separately on the individual lights, i guess my total price will be even cheaper

mine is - 12 PLC lights (10W,double) - cost abt $30/per - 1 "square cake" in mbr - 2 "pizza" in 2 other rooms - 2 "buns" in 2 toilets - 2 "burger" in kitchen - 1 "drumstick" in bomb shelter - free door bell damage $920 i feel that its not cheap leh..
