  1. thanks kstoh. i think the samsung-PC problem seems to be a cable problem. i tried flickr and picasa - doesn't work either. will try photobucket.
  2. gimme some time to figure out how to upload pics!
  3. thanks g0mug0mu, will check out flickr. they will resize the pic too so it saves me one extra step. i started out thinking i needed an ID so i went to see Baroque, Designerhouse, Weiken.com, Outlook and also the infamous Mr K. Baroque's quotation was closest to what we had in mind but the ID was so persistent. Kept messaging me day after day to "follow up". I couldn't live with that so we crossed that out. Mr K's proposal was too expensive for me, plus to arrange a meeting, we had to wait for almost 3 weeks since I called in October. He must be very busy with all renotalkers projects! He's nice and knows the stuff but we don't have that kind of budget. So we settled with another just as famous ID/contractor: Mr Yeak from Basic Image. Officially a Yeaker now I love him to bits!
  4. still trying to find the quickest way to upload photos from my Samsung note 3 to here. now have to download from dropbox, re-size then upload into renotalk gallery then post link. is this the best way?
  5. Hello everyone! So excited to finally start documenting my reno journey. It hasn't always been a smooth process. We are very happy in our current place in Punggol but with 2 kids and a temporary live-in helper, we need a bigger space. Kinda regret hacking the common to join with master bedroom in current place as we only have 2 bedrooms now. Kitchen is not very big but has served me well. Living room is large and roomy with no awkward spaces. Overall, very happy with the house and Punggol the neighborhood. But my parents and in-laws are staying in the East so decided to move so we could have a bigger space and be nearer to them. We picked a 5A unit in Tampines as the pricing is much lower than EM (our first choice) or EA, yet the floor area is similar to EA in Punggol. Too big also I will have problems cleaning it alone. Seller was asking for very high COV initially but hubby fell in love with it so we made a few counter-offers which is a poor negotiation strategy but managed to close at half the asking COV. Just collected the keys last Friday after my selling's first appointment as the sellers already have somewhere to stay so allow us to come in early to start reno. Hopefully all smooth from here on and will check in often to post progress updates and seek advice from fellow renotalkers! Below is my floor plan. Yes big floor area = big renovation cost as we are overhauling the 18-years old house to build a home for my husband, me and 2 little girls as well as my 2 ragamuffin cats!
  6. Need some help please! I can't seem to be able to connect my PC to my Samsung phone. I have the images in my Dropbox but when I insert the link to that image e.g. like below, it says cannot use this extension in the community. Please help! Thanks. https://www.dropbox.com/sc/95djdc2h5inpc0o/1ZvXe-fQNs
  7. Anw i think the quote sounds about right cos my ID yesterday quoted me same price for 11ft. Just be sure not to cover it with a huge TV console or in my case i was planning to have a bookcase in front cos then wasted. theitsybits, as said by many already: what an amazingly beautiful home you have. you have inspired many! i will soon start on my reno journey once i sort out my buying and selling nightmare lol!
  8. greg, congrats on completing your reno! my sweet dreams and plans (or nightmare???) will only start in december once i collect my keys. last time when i did up my house in punggol, i was lucky that my husband's uncle helped to oversee the project as a main con but working with family has its own cons. this time i might just go with another contractor and carpenter and pray for the best. very piqued by TB but alas i cannot read chinese although i must say google chrome is a huge help. my brother in law bought some wedding stuff from here: http://www.made-in-china.com and it arrived safely. was wondering if anyone can comment on this as a TB alternative? it's probably TB in english for all i know - sorry for the noob question! and thanks in advance
  9. Hi, can you give me a quote to change my windows for resale 5 room and bifold door for my service yard. Let me know what you need to do the quote. Thanks.
  10. Not sure if it's common practice but HDB will issue an indemnity form which should protect your interest in case, touch wood, anything goes wrong. It has to be earliest 2 weeks after the 1st appointment date because by then quite unlikely that the buyer will back out. SP Services you can always cut off and buyer will have to pay a re-connection fee. I'm also asking my seller if I can do this because it's almost CNY around the time of the completion and I need to start reno work before that. I have 2 kids and 2 cats so putting up at a temporary home or bunk in with my relatives is not an option.
  11. hi my new flat also in punggol, blk 203B. which is yours? care to share your quote? im looking for ID too. thanks in advance!
