Oh no! Like so many things to consider...gotta discuss with ID again tomorrow. must ask her abt the dryer tube. Hai. My reno costs with window grilles is 27k so far... the killer item is the kitchen cabinets. costs 6.4k. i'll prob be taking out the dining table cos i saw one cheap one in ikea that i like. haha. Anyway, i'll most likely cover with table clothe so can't see much also la. But i'm quite scared of the electrical costs. ID included some in quotation already, but i think she shifted more points than expected...so.... Actually, i'm quite scared... it's like.. i think if the wood colour is chosen correctly, it'll be very nice... but if it's chosen wrongly, it's going to look really terrible. Going to meet ID tomorrow. and might tell her that we have decided to choose from Supreme AC3 instead of AC5, cos realise that AC5 doesnt have much colour selections.

Cos the other blog, i spelt the Jalan Membina wrongly in my topic description, then i cannot change leh... so decided to abort that blog and set up a new one lor...

Hi OMO, I engaged cottage craft finally. You can go look for them - Romie or Daniel. So far it's quite nice working with them. So far the IDs that i know specialising in country style are: Forest in Thomson Plaza Cottage Craft in Stamford House Creation from the Heart in Anchorpoint Country Concept in Tanjong Katong Complex Out of these 4, i feel that Forest and Cottage Craft have got the concept and material that we like. But Forest's specialisation is only carpentry. So their quote for renovation works is SUPER EXPENSIVE. So we were left with the choice of choosing Forest for carpentry and finding another contractor outside to do the reno works, or have Cottage Craft do everything for us.. Finally, we chose Cottage Craft. For furniture, Cottage Craft has nice furniture as well. Else you can also try Ecolinks in Furniture Mall and Park Mall. Or Country Design in Sungei Kadut or Tanjong Katong Complex. Actually, i think Ikea has very nice country style furniture as well. Thinking of getting bed frame from Ikea but we'll see how la... if budget allows, we'll get, else we'll just retain our bed now. Spotlight has very nice country style bedsheet sets though. Like them alot! Anyway, where is your place located?

Ok... Here's my new T-blog! My perspective drawings. Made sm changes to the kitchen layout. Will be meeting ID to discuss about the living/dining area on Thursday. =) Anyway, my ID proposed a funny length dining table. The dining bench is 150cm, and the dining table to 90cm. Isn't it abit...weird? I have this impression that table should be either the same length, or longer than the dining bench. Can correct me if i'm wrong?

Hi Kitseng how is ur reno?
-
Opps. Didnt realise you were talking about the inches. hoho. u mean whats the difference between 18 inch and 12 inch? just the width difference nia. we find that 18 inch is nicer.. 12 inch seems too small...

Went to my good friend's place at Bukit Purmei for countdown ytd. She's just staying on the 5th floor but she could see the mount faber tower and the fireworks so clearly! And i wouldnt be able to see a thing from Jalan Membina despite staying at a high flr. so sad.
-
Difference b/w 18 meaning?
-
Your tiles and your 'wooden' skirting goes very well. very nice!!!
-
Hope to hear compliments from u! =)

Hi redbottle, can check with you, what's the colour of your laminate? Is it from supreme? it's very nice!
-
OH NO! SUSPENSE!!

I like coming to your t-blog man! Haha! Just come in, then everytime i refresh there will be some new pics! Your bomb shelter feature wall is very nice! One of the nicest i've seen!

Hello Xlan, my ID told me b4 that normally HDB ceiling and wall is not straight one. I wanted to put wallpaper border on the top part of the wall just below the ceiling, but my ID said not advisable, cos of that reason lor. But anyway, when we knew the price, we didnt wanna do it also la.

Hi Grumpybear, welcome. Which floor u staying? Hi Elaine, check with you, what's the measurement of the laminate like homogeneous tiles that you got? We might be using that for the living room. The one that hb and I like is abit..whitish, 30cm by 60cm. Any idea if the worksmanship costs would differ for laying 30cm by 60cm and 60cm by 60cm?

Hi nemofc, saw your t blog. Should ask them to clean up the place for you and replace your sink for you. haha. Anyway, i went to JM today to hand in the defects list. Have got some questions... hope someone can help me. =) 1. Anyone NOT doing kitchen door? Do you think it's necessary? What's your quote for your kitchen door? 2. Anyone doing a box up for the area with the beam in the MBR? For those putting your bedhead there, do you think it'll pose a prob? 3. Anyone knows where i can buy nice shower curtains other than ikea? 4. Anyway increased the height of the shower kerb in both the bathrooms? And i'm still deciding if should change my WC and sink. Can our original WC and sink be traded in? Heard from some forum / thread some time ago that it is possible, but anyone tried? Meeting ID on Sat morning to do measurement. Getting quite excited. Really hope everything will turn out well. Have a few friends who just signed up with IDs lately cos they are getting their keys in Jan / Feb. Then whenever they ask about our quote and we tell them, they'll think it's tooooo ex for the things tt we're doing. But to me, there aren't many IDs specialising in country style. And Cottage Craft seems good to work with.... soooo... I really hope Romie won't disappoint us.

Hi nemofc and dneo, my ID is cottage craft. Am doing abit of like...english country style, so chose them as my ID. went to sim siang choon today to have a look at the toilet bowls and basins... really so so so tempted to change. and i think i most likely will ba. Went to choose tiles today, and came home with 7 pieces of sample. @#(*&$#@ Hubby and I have further shortlisted 2 out of the 7 pieces. 1 of them looks abit..stonish... like... light brown, 34cm by 34cm, not super smooth but not very rough also. like the feeling of that. the other one is normal super glossy homogenous tile...abit pinkish.. 60cm by 60cm. i actually prefer the 1st one... though i really am not sure how the whole living / dining area will turn out to be, but it seems that it suits our theme more. but hubby prefers the 2nd one. hmmm.... so.. it's up to our ID to cast her vote. haha. and i havent submitted my defects list! jialat. hubby will prob help to help submit tomorrow or the day after cos i can't take leave from work. and check with you all, any idea how long citygas takes to come and install the heater? haven't applied for that as well. hai. think was too relaxed liao. now like..everything not done. so last minute.

Hi Binzz Your feature wall is really cool! Can't wait to see the completed feature wall. Hello happy I heard from my ID they normally they will finish the kitchen cabinet then deliver and install the solid top nearing to handover date cos solid surface tops are more prone to scratches. haha.
-
Hi neighbours MERRY CHRISTMAS! Just confirmed ID on Sunday. Going to Soon Bee Huat today to choose tiles. Hope everything will be smooth. Am thinking if I should change the MBR and common toilet WC and sink. Two sides of my mind 'fighting'. haha. One side says 'save money', and the other 'you are realllly reaaallly ok with a grey and peach toilet bowl and sink???? if you wanna change next time it'll be a hassle leh.'. Up till now still dunno who win.
-
3rd to spam! Hoping I can confirm a ID and start reno soon also.
-
Reminds me... i'm quoted for 24 ft (top + bottom - chimney hood of 3ft). How come so big difference... and i actually forgot to ask how she derived the 24 ft.
-

Hello OnePostWonder, so you're not doing full height cabinets? I had some suggestions on not doing that as well, but I'm quite concerned about the cleaning part... dust accumulating on the top of the cabinets... Hai.
