  1. Agree black lines are better. You won't even see any yellowish lines which is common for white grouting that is. Light colour tiles will tend to get dirty and sometimes yellowish with time if not properly maintained. White grout lines tend to get dirty more, probably due to the dust and whatever's trapped in between?
  2. Hmm but that time when I got the keys & signed paperwork, HDB had not yet wiped out on the day itself. It was only wiped out a few days later when check on the cpf account again. Ya there is a financial workout plan by HDB but you got to suss out yourself if you can meet the MI every month through your CPF contributions for the tenor period that the loan is being repaid back.
  3. If you've gone bkk before. Its even more fun bargaining cos CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP & BUY BUY BUY!!
  4. ya the wood will rot according to my mum. Cos sink area is wet area and with pipes underneath the sink bowl one. So doing sink concrete support more or less helps to prevent any chances of rotting wood damage to the cabinets. Not sure about the granite one, better check and be sure. I think i read someone post say granite is porous something to that effect. For me I never do so bo pian.
  5. For WIS like what applefreak mentioned, Just that once signed, HDB will wipe out whats left of the balance in the CPF account. Untill next cpf contribution is credited by your employer into your cpf account for the following month will be deducted accordingly for the MI.
  6. Babytan, concrete support is different actually. It prevents the cabinets from rotting esp with pipes underneath in case of water spillage that sort, according to my mum, something like that. She say its better this way cos her old kitchen cabinets rotted before she changed her kitchen. Some sink supports are open one, some can be concealed behind wooden doors (this is new) Skywolf can tell you more.
  7. Don't worry about this. Everyone goes through trial and errors to learn best from mistakes to use as a benchmark in life. What you learn is how best is to 'squeeze' the most out of your contractor or ID now that you learn about the materials you're paying for. :notti:
  8. Hey, Greycat, hmm i was wondering if its due to expansion and contraction thing like laminate flooring which will expand and contract ba.
  9. No pics of your buys? keke think me a bit late to spam chop here.
  10. Oh! Greycat providing the equipment! kekeke so no worries about that.

  13. Hello bebe, paiseh for late reply. Ya sort of since the kitchen contractor is my parents in law's lobang. 'Cos my father in law knows the market rate for the kitchen pricing so the guy will not cheat regards to the material since it is not cheap to pay for a kitchen works. How your problem?
  14. Hey Ranval, If its not too much trouble for you to come down from sk to pick me up before heading to greycat's place. I can help to share part of the cab fare to greycat's place though. Thanks for the offer btw. Was wondering how to take summer to greycat's place. You better confirm with your mum if she can help. Better to confirm earlier so you have enough time to make any changes to your plans. Keke today pass by a pet grooming shop and saw 2 cute corgis, not to mention 1 yorkshire terrier and several other doggies. Will pm you my no later.
  15. Hey Greycat! Thanks for saying that about my cupcakes even though the piped buttercream isn't fantastic from the outlook of it. Hope that you get to learn the swirl thing soon. Seeing you online late at night is a 1st for me. Wah you take 1 step further ahead. Got enough flour or not? Btw, my hubby should be coming with me.I have mini hearts dressing too. Maybe you can try imageshack? Thats what im using currently
  16. Thanks mel, im looking forward to seeing more of your reno pics too! Wall decals are a better alternative to wallpaper and probably a cheaper one at that. Try winkplay (www.winkplay.com), under the wink tailor category for some ideas of what you'd like. Wall decals can also serve to adorn your wall as a feature wall somemore.
  17. Greycat, just to let you know the outcome of my frosting result. I didn't use cream this time, i used milk in the buttercream. Actually the buttercream recipe i tried out today, called for either 2 tablespoons of milk or cream. Also I tried out vanilla flavour for cupcakes since I have been baking mostly chocolate flavour for cupcakes. Did both mini and standard cupcakes. This are mini cupcakes. Vanilla flavour & Vanilla flavour with choc chips This is chocolate flavour with choc chip in standard cupcake size before buttercream frosting. Yes I successfully made buttercream frosting stiff enough for piping! Ignore the other cupcakes with buttercream frosting in the background, don't look nice from the side view also. After cupcake's frosted with buttercream, it looks like this.. but sad to say my piping skills aren't great at all cos the swirl must look neat and like a swirl in a circle Means you probably need to have to show me how the piping is done if you have learnt how to do it by then. (At least this time round, it doesn't look like a mudpie at all) Think I do better with just chocolate ganache instead of buttercream piping.
  18. thanks thanks! Shall go down to buy keke.
  19. Thanks h4happy! I like the pink colour version hehe Food stock = mix of canned food & those packaged food in boxes?
  20. hey diva, I didn't buy the paper, its h4happy actually.
  21. Hey, greycat.. Okie, time wise is fine with me too. If your MIL have no tray, i can volunteer my muffin trays & cupcake liners as well. Got 1 standard & 1 mini packets of cupcake liners probably 100 each. I got a small sieve too
  22. place order with me also no use cos those pics i take from a blog I found on the net for more references to cupcake recipes. But the cupcake recipes are easy to make, only thing is piping skills got to brush up. You want to order, wait till i master the art of piping first unless you want plain cupcakes? The first cupcake got meringue topping, need to cook it right like a roux. *faint* cos its abit like butter or milk where cannot cook too long or it get burnt.
  23. Side track here, Apple jiejie, Cantona7, Compassvale.. Greycat organising a baking session cum doggie gathering. You guys up for it? See greycat's blog
  24. Muffin tray are those where you put cupcake liners which spreads out like a flower in the holes after greasing the trays so that the batter will form properly while in the oven. If you're using the baking tray without the holes in it, you must be using those souffle cups where those cups can stand upright with batter in it. I have a small baking tray without hole in it for those souffle cups. I posted a cupcake pic in LLhome's blog before remember, you see that cup in which the cupcake is in, thats a souffle cup. Examples as below :- Souffle cup Cupcake liners Btw, my hubby don't have car. That the problem. Im ok with mornings or afternoons for 14th June, only thing is ranval can make it on 14th June so I suppose we can start mid morning for 14th June?
