  1. I need to dismantle built-in wardrobes and will need to re-polish the parquet floor to even out the colour. Please advise if you have any good parquet contractor who is reliable and charges reasonably. TIA
  2. I can't tell you exact amount but my monthly elect bill is about $130-$150 per month. I switch on 2 aircons in my bedrooms from about 10pm to 7am, 2 fans in living room from 7am to 9pm (for my doggy), wash and dry about 4 loads of clothes a week, etc.. I think the bill is not too bad...
  3. I have been using clothes dryer for years and I can't live without it. Unless yours is not the standalone type then maybe it doesn't try your bedsheets fully but otherwise, it dries everything 100%! You will like it once you use it cos it's so convenient -- just throw all your stuff in and you can go about doing other things cos it has timer settings and you don't have to worry about the freaky SG weather (rain suddenly), bird droppings and it's so safe cos you don't have to use those clothes poles thingy
  4. Count me in for group buy too. Looking for the tower type retailing at S$600+
  5. Bought a resale unit and it has built-in wardrobes which are still in good condition. Do not want to tear them down so thought of finding a contractor who can just change the doors/re-skin it to a colour that we like. Anyone has a good contact for this job? Thank you
  6. Hi gakuseisean Thanks for your comments. You do have a point
  7. Thinking of purchasing the Top Top Table (black glass top) and Louis Ghost Chair (crystal colour) by Philippe Starck. The dining room lightings are baroque-style with black crystals. Will these items pull together well? Need opinions please. TIA
  8. I need a house mover too. Any of them actually does all the packing from clothes, kitchen stuff to furniture?? I prefer that I do not have to fold my clothes up, perhaps place them on a clothes rack for transport to new place.
  9. Hi silverfins & bepgof Thanks for your replies but it's really quite strange... cos I was told that there is such a thing as late completion penalty. Hmm...
  10. We're purchasing a condo unit and selling our HDB so there's some timing issue. We have requested the condo seller for an extension of the completion date. Seller is agreeable to give the extension but wanted the late completion penalty to be imposed. I think it's not an unfair request since it's a rule but would like to know what's the formula to calculate the penalty sum.
  11. Need some help here... anyone knows what's the formula for calculation of late completion charges? And is it calculated on a per day basis? TIA
  12. HI booksntoys, I'm looking for a painter. May I know how big was the area that you painted and what were the charges? What brand of paints used and were they included in the quote? Thank you
  13. Existing dining table legs are dark brown in colour. Want to change them to white. How do I do it?
  14. Hi therat Thanks for the reply. It's top mount type... can be done??
  15. I'm wondering if it's possible to change wash basins in both MBR and 2nd bathroom? Anyone did this before please advise who should I go to for such jobs and is it possible to change the shape of the wash basin (e.g. oval to square) without having to go thru any major works? TIA
  16. Think I have pass this offer this time cos HB wants to check some things out first... Sorry about it.
  17. We humans are hard to satisfy. If a flat is a bit old, we don't like... if flat is brand new but small, we also don't like. I've been thru this but since space is a the most major consideration for my family, we solve the problem by getting an older unit of flat. We can't have everything so just have to decide on what's best given the situation
  18. Keen on the F100 for condo. Will cfm tmrw. Thank you

  20. I am not an agent but my friend is selling his 3I flat at Lor 2 Toa Payoh. Braddell MRT is just below his block and lots of shops in surrounding area. Very convenient location and unit is breezy with no afternoon sun. Move in condition with some touch-ups. Valuation done at $310k. What would be a fair and reasonable COV that he should be looking at?

  22. An effective and cheap method is to purchase star anise (Ba Qiao in Mandarin) from any good ol' Chinese medical shop. This is one of the spices used in 5-spice powder. Just leave them in your drawers, counter top... anyway you wish. I've been using it at home and found that it really keeps cockroaches away. Give it a try!
  23. I'm looking for a painter who can paint a good sky effect. Pls provide contact if you have one. Thank you
