According to ppl here, Legrand not very exp. Anyway I think I will get the switches myself just to be sure the design is right. Then ask the ID to fix up for me. Not sure how much that will cost though.

So the idealhouse electrical pricelist includes Legrand ones or did u specifically ask for it?

Not sure about DIY but I plan to replace all my switches and sockets to Legrand ones. I got the electrical price list from Max but I think the prices are inclusive of new switches. If you manage to find out how much it will cost if we supply our own switches, do PM me! If I find out I'll let u know also

Yes taps and basin are bought as separate items. This way you can choose the taps u like ma Actually I still have to get taps, ceiling fan, instant heaters and toilet ventilation fans. Wonder which shop is best? Seems like Poh Joo and Royal Fanco are the recommended ones here.

Hi all, where can I get nice switches? Are there more popular brands that are used? Kindly let me know where to buy them too. I am trying to see if I should change the sitches at my place.

Not sure of the exact size for the kitchen light. They have small, medium and large. I took the medium one and i estimate the diameter to be about 30-40cm. Will be using white lights. Also not sure of the exact size of the PLC downlight. Its double tube and i estimate it to be about 15cm wide. Hope this helps.

yes have to pay full... I think should be safe cos they are owned by the same guy who opened massimo. Also Spring singapore has a part in starting this brand...

I dont have the invoice with me now but from memory these are the after-discount prices: Dining light - $150 Kitchen x 2 - $65 each Toilet x2 - $50 each PLC downlight x 24 - $25 each with osram bulb Balcony - $60 Bedrooms x 2 - $115 each Foyer entrance - $60 Bulb + holder x 2 - $12 each Florescent set - $12 for 4ft x 2 and $11 for 2ft x 1 Total $1389 bargain to $1350. Not sure if its a good price...

I have met Tee before when he came down with the HDB guy to survey my tiles. He is an ok person to deal with... I think it will be tough to find 70cents tiles at hafary... You should consider topping up to $2 tiles and get nice ones. At least u will save on hacking, tiling and waterproofing costs.

Buying Lights Today went light hunting for my place. Well, we didnt really hunt cos we went to Chelsea Lightings at Jurong East as recommended by my ID and compared between them and the few shops next door. Ended up still buying from Chelsea. By the way, parking is a real hassle at that place! So few lots... Anyway, bought the lights below after much considerations about budget, practicality and design. Double tube PLC downlights x 24 Chose white frame as we didnt want to spend too much time polishing the silver ones if it tarnishes. Comes with Osram bulbs. Dining area hang light We like the design of this light. Initially wanted squarish ones but the auntie advised against it cos she says it is hard to align all 3 tubes to face the same direction. The round ones wont give such problems. The brown colour should fit into our design nicely. Bedroom 2 and 3 ceiling lights Simple rectangle light for the 2 less used bedrooms. There were so many of these rectangle lights there that we didnt know which one to choose. Ended up choosing a simple design so we wont grow tired of it in time. Foyer light This is the most difficuly light to choose. My FSM wanted us to put a light with at least 6" diameter there. We couldnt decide which one to choose so in the end chose this simple one so it will be more discreet. Didnt one some light that will stand out too much at the entrance. Toilet lights x 2 I like these dog-bowl lights. Chose the large double tube ones for better brightness. Balcony Light This will be a warm light for my main balcony. Really like this one !! Saw a few shop and chelsea price is lowest by far for this model. Kitchen lights x 2 Round lights with black trim. Simple design. But I'm not sure if it fits our kitchen colour scheme... What do u guys think?? Others Flourescent tubes for cove lights and 2 simple bulbs for service balcony and bomb shelter.

Did u sign on Fri or Sat? I was there Sat nite and Max was talking to a couple before us. The bathroom tiles were chosen by Max, Steven and the Hafary salesman. The design wise is done by Max. I only stated my requirements like large mirrors, shower screen, vanity top etc... He chose the colours... Hope that helps... Did u hack ur toilets too?

I ordered a Thorkell last week. Taking delivery in Sept so paid $788 instead of $1288. And they threw in a set of replacement fabric cover for free! Think it's a promo for April. We were still contemplating whether to pay the 300+ for the spare cover so it was a pleasant surprise to get it free. So far service is ok. We made our order at the tradehub21 branch. Make sure u ask for a detailed reciept instead of the internet printed one.

3D Drawing Final Version Finally, I've more or less finalised the design of the house. Now its up to the feng shui master to give his final confirmation after I email him the drawing and we're all set. I've attached drawing below but pardon the poor scan quality! Living room The shoe rack is full height and the rectangle piece in the middle will be glass. I plan to hang a large oil painting on the wall between the shoe rack and the TV console and it will be the main focus point in the living room. Bomb shelter feature wall The bomb shelter feature will be white laminate like the shoe cabinet but somehow the scan makes it turn out more beige in color. Master bedroom The wall behind the bed will be in darker shade and I plan to buy a long rectangle abstract art piece to hang there. Also need to look for nice side tables to complement the bed. Master bedroom toilet The feature will be the tiles with flower prints inside the shower area. Decided to change from sliding shower screen to swing door after much considerations. The wall tiles look more whitish in real life so hope it turns out nice! We've also chosen the basin to be exactly the same one in the picture. 2nd bedroom Nothing much in this guestroom except the built in wardrobe. Kitchen The theme in the kitchen will be wooden laminate on white backing together with white solid top. Again the colour turned out a bit peachy instead of white My stove will be at a 45 degrees angle as advised by my FSM. The extra table top on the right side will hopefully give us enough space to prepare food and put our cups and stuff. Kithcen toilet Kitchen toilet with a feature wall behind the WC and in the shower area. Will prob be using shower curtain here as it wont be used often.

Yes tiles selected. Went to Hafary Balestier. Also ordered sofa last week. Now next in line will be bathroom taps, heaters and lights. Next mth is the great s'pore sale so will be looking to purchase my shortlisted Serta bed then. Tonight will meet max for the 3d drawing 2nd draft. Will post it in my t-blog once I get it so stay tuned

Pool table cannot be shifted as and when u like. It requires careful balancing to ensure the table is level. Once done up it should not be moved. Also there should be dedicated overhead lighting to ensure the table it well lit. So I guess you have to find a fixed location for the table.

Yup after qing ming. Tentatively is set on 23rd. Going to view version 2 of the 3d drawing tomorrow and hopefully confirm most of the details. So u managed to push the price down?
